3. What is Google X?
• X, an American semi-secret Research and
Development facility founded by Google in
January 2010 as Google X
• Operates as a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc.
• Work at X is overseen by entrepreneur
scientist Astro Teller, as CEO and "Captain of
Moonshots”
• The lab started with the development of
Google's self-driving car
4. On 2 October 2015, after the complete restructuring of Google into Alphabet,
the company was renamed to X.
5. Company aim is
• driverless cars
• Wi-Fi balloons and drones
• X has incorporated the robotics division that
Alphabet purchased from Boston Dynamics.
• One product that X won't report about is
Google Glass
6. Google Glass
• the wearable screen
that makes people
look like cyborgs.
• Glass is perhaps X's
most famous (and
ridiculed) product
8. Popular Projects by X
• Project Soli (Touch less technology)
• Project Loon(Internet)
• Project Tango (Augmented reality)
• Project Wing (internet)
• Google DART (Programming Language)
• Google's space elevator (Under Progress)
10. Project soli ????
• Project soli facilities you to control your
electronic devices(like smartphone) without
touching them…
• Feel amazed that how it possible…today I will
explain you…….
12. What is Project Soli
Project Soli is a new way of touch less interactions.
It is a sensing technology that uses miniature radar
to detect touch less gesture interactions.
some of the devices where Project Soli can be
embedded include wearable's, phones, computers,
cars and IoT devices
New concept hardware made in collaboration with
LG and Harman.
14. Application on devices
The Soli chip can be
embedded in wearable's,
phones, computers, cars
and IoT devices in our
environment.
Soli has no moving parts,
it fits onto a chip and
consumes little energy. It
is not affected by light
conditions and it works
through most materials.
Just imagine the
possibilities...
16. • We are all well-versed with the famous
dialogue – “It’s a plane? It’s a Bird? It’s
SUPERMAN!!”
• Very soon people will actually say – “It’s a
plane? It’s a Bird? It’s a Google Balloon!!”
• Google plans to provide floating internet
tower skies…..
17. Need for Project Loon
• We generally say this is online age…
“Sometimes “Everyone” isn’t really EVERYONE…”
• “For every one person connected to the Internet, there are
two who are NOT..” This means that 2 out of 3 people do not
have Internet access.
• So globally, we can now imagine that these two persons
mutate to millions..
• This is where the seed of Project Loon was planted.
19. Project LOON
• it’s an internet and communication project announced
on 14th June 2013.
• About 5 billion people in the world don’t have internet access.
• It’s aimed at providing internet to rural and remote areas.
• In it high altitude balloons are placed in stratosphere at altitude of
32kms.
• Internet speed is nearly of 4G .
• One just can an antenna to connect to the internet.
• In it the signal travels from balloon to balloon to an ISP and which is
connected to the global network.
• Project loon has been tested in New Zealand, California and Brazil.
23. Last year former CEO of GOOGLE
“SUNDER PITCHAI” came to India for first
visit
24. Google focus on India
• "Project Loon will launch balloons in the sky
to help reach out to reach rural areas”
Sunder Pitachi
• Pichai also said that Google is working on a
special project that will help women in rural
India learn how to use the internet.
• Google has send proposal for project loon to
Indian government
