3. INTRODUCTION
Authentication is the first line of defence against compromising confidentiality and
integrity. Alphanumerical usernames and passwords are the most common method of
computer authentication. This method has many drawbacks. Usually, people use
passwords that can be easily guessed, so that it does not become hard to remember.
Hence to encounter this problem, researchers have developed graphical password
authentication methods that use pictures as passwords.
4. Graphical passwords are an
alternative to text-based
passwords where the user is asked
to recall an image or parts of an
image instead of a word. We are
further discussing a new and more
secure graphical password system
called pass points.
5. PROBLEM STATEMENT
People use passwords that can be
easily guessed so that it does not
become hard to remember and can
be hacked using Bruteforce dictionary
attacks.
So we have developed graphical
password authentication methods
that use pictures instead of
alphanumerical usernames.
6. LITERATURE REVIEW
Our team will develop a web application with the
following features:
Users can choose any services: -
• Password Analyzer
• Password making using the pictures
7. PROPOSED WORK
The text passwords are very difficult to remember and can be
hacked using Bruteforce dictionary attacks. To overcome this
problem graphical passwords can be used. With the help of the
pictures the user can remember the passwords easily and
Bruteforce dictionary attacks are also not possible. Our web
application provides the features of analyzing the passwords
which means they are stronger of weaker and the feature of
setting the passwords using the pictures.
8. REAL-TIME USAGE
The graphical password authentication system can be
used in various
• Banking
• Shopping websites
• Email system etc.
