FIRST Canada, an organization that promotes science, technology, and engineering for Canadian youth, hosts an annual robot building competition. The Sabre Bytes Robotics team from Sandwich High School stepped up to the challenge to build robots capable of playing a throwing competition, but similar to a soccer game. The local ASCO Numatics representative worked closely with the team and their mentors to explain the role Numatics could play in the development of the robot. They used Numatics L01 series valves which allowed the robot to lower its arm to pick up a ball and ready the shooting mechanism. ASCO Numatics was thrilled to support the efforts of these youth by providing product and expertise. The team won multiple local awards for industrial safety, team spirit and entrepreneurship.
