Rae is a performing arts student who was observed during a full rehearsal for Cell Block Tango. The observer noted that while Rae is always punctual and willing to work hard, she sometimes lacks enthusiasm and focus during rehearsals. However, Rae contributes positively to choreography, helps others learn moves, and incorporates feedback to improve. In response, Rae acknowledged that she needs to have a more positive attitude in rehearsals, and will work on bringing her energy up through diet and hydration to fully engage with peers.

_PEER OBSERVATION - RAE FROM INDIE.pdf
1. BTEC PERFORMING ARTS
Musical Theatre - PEER OBSERVATION
Instructions - Give this sheet to another member of the group. Ask them to fill in the
first two sections and you must fill in the response in the third section.
Name of observer: Indie
Name of performer being observed: Rae
Workshop/Rehearsal: Full rehearsal of Cell Block Tango
The observer must make comments on each of the following:
1. Professional Attitude
Comments
Punctuality & Attendance Rae is always punctual and on time to
rehearsals or workshops.
Readiness to Work Rae sometimes has a slow start but is
always ready to work and puts her all
into the movements even if it is just a
marked run through. She just needs to
be more enthusiastic going into these
sessions.
Communication with other company
members during the rehearsal
Rae always contributes to
choreographing parts of cell block tango
and will go over it with everyone to help
them out and make sure they
understand the moves. If there is ever a
problem with staging or the dance itself
she will always be able to find a
solution.
Focus and attitude during the rehearsal Rae can sometimes lose focus and
have a bad attitude during the rehearsal
but despite this she gets things done,
learns all the moves and is able to catch
up quickly if she misses anything.
Ability to take on board feedback from
other company members and use it to
improve own work
Rae often asks for feedback and
ensures to improve it in detail for the
next rehearsal. For example, during cell
block tango her feedback was to create
a solo for her section so for the next
rehearsal she focussed on just creating
her solo so she was ready.

2. Conduct during rehearsals - Did this person behave in a positive and
focused way during rehearsals? Assess their contribution to the
success of the rehearsal. Please be as specific as possible
Rae always behaves well and positively and when she does focus she listens well
and takes into account everything somebody says. But she often does have to ask
for a repeat of what was said or done. As aforementioned, Rae consistently
contributes to the choreography of Cell Block Tango and other pieces, like Hamilton.
Her unique dance vision will contribute to the success of the performance as it is
very pleasing to look at. Also, she helps others out with the moves and ensures
everyone is on the same page. This will also make the performance successful
because everyone will know what they are doing to a high quality,
3. Performer response - will you make any changes to your working
practises following this observation? Be specific
In response to this peer observation, I will try to have a much more positive impact
when coming into rehearsals, as I am now aware of the impacts this could have on
my rehearsal time and the rest of my peers. Something I could do to help bring my
energy levels up in rehearsals, is making sure I have a good diet and am drinking a
lot of water, as often this can contribute to having a low mood.
