6. What do we understand by
Professional Presentation?
• A professional presentation style requires the confidence and ability
to convey the right image that you want your audience to see.
• A professional presentation is all about impressions. Your slides
should look the part. When you know how to prepare professional-

• The primary function of a PowerPoint presentation is to display
slides, of course, but it also serves to help the audience learn about
the topic at hand, by providing the necessary information to follow
the speech and understand its reasoning and logic.
• The criteria enabling the creation of a professional presentation can
be grouped into 3 broad categories:
1. the structure
2. the design and

A professional PowerPoint presentation meets several criteria. It would be tedious to list them all, as they are variable in nature and fall into several different categories. On the other hand, there are many different ways to use PowerPoint. Projected presentations, printed presentations, presentations sent as PDFs, looping animated presentations, etc. But if all of the different criteria have one thing in common, it’s that they are all related to how the audience will perceive the message that the presentation and presenter wish to deliver.
