1. Conceptualizing- includes brainstorming and
identifying the possible topics to write and
developing your topic.
2. Preparing an Outline- a plan which is like a
skeleton composed of your title, main topics, and
sub-topics organized in logical sequences.
3. Conceptualizing your proposition/argument- the
main substance which you want to present to
your readers.
- sometimes called as the thesis statement

5. Checking and revising- initial draft is really a
crude product and may not be perfect yet so you
need to improve it.

Identify the title of your composition.
Brainstorm
Write as many ideas or topics
Put the related topics together
Determine which of the topics should be the main
idea.
Determine which should be the supporting
details.
Put all the supporting sub-topics under the main
topics.
Arrange the topics into logical order.
Assign roman numerals for the main topics.
Assign capital letters for the supporting sub-
