This document outlines models and methods for personal prayer based on scripture passages. It presents the "READ-REFLECT-REASON/WRESTLE-REST-BECOME" model for meditating on a passage where the pray-er reads, reflects, reasons with God, listens for a response, and commits to enacting changes. Disorder and order in psalms are discussed as models for lamenting challenges and envisioning restoration. versions.
 REFLECT …
• What one verse … one phrase … one word stands out?
 REASON/WRESTLE
• What does this mean? To me? Right now?
• Enter into a dialogue with God over your open Bible!
• Muse on the passage … meditate … listen with your
heart/spirit.
• Pray. Question. Gasp! Stand in awe. Wonder!
 REST
• Let God now read you!
• Quiet yourself … for a word from the Lord!
• Is there an attitude or action to be changed? A
promise to be claimed? A blessing to be received?
 BECOME … Change … Let the Word Form You!
• Flesh this out! Live it! To take it into ourselves.
