2. Reading: Jeremiah 29:11-14
For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the
Lord, plans for your welfare, not for woe! Plans to give you a
future full of hope. When you call me, when you pray to me,
I will listen to you. When you look for me, you will find me.
Yes, when you seek me with all your heart, you will find me
with you, says the Lord, and I will change your lot.
Silence for a few moments.
3. Jeremiah 29:11-14
For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the Lord,
plans for your welfare, not for woe! Plans to give you a future
full of hope. When you call me, when you pray to me, I will listen
to you. When you look for me, you will find me. Yes, when you
seek me with all your heart, you will find me with you, says the
Lord, and I will change your lot.
Reflect:
• As I think about the Church and my Parish, what are my
hopes for the future?
• What are my fears?
.
4. I invite all Christians, everywhere,
at this very moment,
to a renewed personal encounter
with Jesus Christ,
or at least an openness to
letting him encounter them.
…The Lord does not disappoint
those who take this risk;
whenever we take a step
towards Jesus,
we come to realise that
he is already there,
waiting for us with open arms.
Evangelii Gaudium #3
5. Pray together:
Father God, we are gathered together as your people to reflect on
how we might bring your saving Word to your people in our Parishes
and communities.
• Help us to trust in you, that we may learn to trust each other.
• Help us to remember that all we have and are – that this Church
and all who worship in it – are really yours.
• Grant us vision that we may see and use wisely the gifts you have
showered upon us.
• Be with us during Proclaim, Lord, as we seek to discern how to
best meet the challenges which face us.
Send us your Holy Spirit, we pray.
Silence for a few moments to reread the prayer and take it into our hearts.
Glory be to the Father……

14. we have rediscovered the fundamental role of the
first announcement of the kerygma, which needs to
be the centre of all evangelising activity and all
efforts at Christian renewal…..
The first proclamation must ring out over and over:
Jesus Christ loves you;
he gave his life to save you;
and now he is living at your side every day
to enlighten, strengthen and free you.
