3. WHEN WE WERE ENEMIES

5. DEATH BY SIN
A. DEATH – “permanent separation”. Sin is a very serious matter, it will separate you from GOD
forever.
B. SIN - “Missing the Mark”. Nobody taught us sin but you lie, there is pride in us, greed to get
more, our eyes lust on things. You are born sinner.
a) Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
C. ENEMIES
a) You and I as sinner by nature are hostile toward God. The natural man have no interests on the
things of God.
b) 1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are
foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
c) Romans 3:10-11 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that
understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

7. WE WERE RECONCILED TO GOD
Reconciled(allaso) – But God turned his face toward man. God changed our
condition from enmity to friendship
2 Corinthians 5:18-19 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to
himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To
wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing
their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of
reconciliation.
8. RECONCILIATION - BY THE DEATH OF HIS SON
A. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,
how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was
buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
B. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us.
a) “commendeth” – expressed/demonstrated in action or deeds
b) “love” – sacrificial, enduring, perfect, passeth man’s understanding, freely,
everlasting
C. Jeremiah 31:3 Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love
D. Hosea 14:4 I will love them freely
9. MUCH MORE, BEING RECONCILED
A. There is no other way or means that we can be restore back to God.
B. Our own effort to be self-righteous, religious, good works, following God’s law,
church membership will not bring us to heaven
a) Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as
filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken
us away.
b) James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he
is guilty of all.
10. WE SHALL BE SAVED BY HIS LIFE
A. The forgiveness of our sins
A. Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of
sins, according to the riches of his grace;
B. Abolished Death
A. 2 Timothy 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus
Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light
through the gospel:
C. Life Abundantly
A. John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am
come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11. WILL YOU ACCEPT THE RECONCILIATION THAT JESUS OFFER?
A. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt
be saved.
B. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be
saved.
