3. FOR THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH
A. SIN - “Missing the Mark”. Nobody taught us sin but you lie, there is pride in us,
greed to get more, our eyes lust on things. You are born sinner.
a) Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
B. DEATH – “permanent separation”. Sin is a very serious matter, it will separate
you from GOD forever.
C. WAGES – “penalty / punishment” for our sins is death.

But the fearful,
and unbelieving,
and the abominable,
and murderers,
and whoremongers,
and sorcerers,
and idolaters,
and all liars,
shall have their part in
the lake which burneth
with fire and brimstone:
which is the second
death.
The punishment and the wrath to
come
1. Physical Death – separation of
material being from soul &
spirit
2. Spiritual Death – permanent
separation from God
6. WE CANNOT SAVE OURSELVES
A. We will not be able to pay our sins to escape the punishment of God. Our own
effort to be religious, good works, following God’s law, church membership will
not bring us to heaven
a) Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as
filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken
us away.
b) James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he
is guilty of all.
7. WE NEED A SAVIOUR !
A. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us.
a) “commendeth” – expressed/demonstrated in action or deeds
b) “love” – sacrificial, enduring, perfect, passeth man’s understanding, freely,
everlasting
B. Jeremiah 31:3 Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love
C. Hosea 14:4 I will love them freely
D. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life
8. ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD
A. John 8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never
see death.
B. John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that
believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
C. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me.
D. Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance
toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
9. THE GIFT
A. For a gift cannot be bought or earn, it can only be RECEIVED or ACCEPTED or
REJECTED
B. The value or price of the gift is determined by the giver. The value of the gift is
EVERLASTING LIFE
C. JESUS CHRIST is inviting you to receive that gift of eternal life.
D. Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I
will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and
lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and
my burden is light.
10. WILL YOU RECEIVE THE GIFT?
A. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt
be saved.
B. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be
saved.
