Soteriology
1. Propitation
2. Redemption
3. Justification
14. Through His Life and Death
for all have sinned and fall short of
the glory of God, being justified freely
by His grace through the redemption
that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set
forth as a propitiation by His blood,
through faith, to demonstrate His
righteousness, because in His
forbearance God had passed over the
sins that were previously committed,
Romans 3:23-25
15. Through His Life and Death
Propitiation
That God’s justice has been satisfied
and His righteous angry wrath
appeased for our sin against Him
through Jesus’ sacrifice on the
cross making it possible for Him to
pass over our sin so that we can be
reconciled to Him.
16. Propitiation
Therefore, in all things He had to be
made like His brethren, that He might
be a merciful and faithful High Priest
in things pertaining to God, to make
propitiation for the sins of the people.
Hebrews 2:17
17. Propitiation
And He Himself is the propitiation for
our sins, and not for ours only but
also for the whole world.
In this is love, not that we loved God,
but that He loved us and sent His Son
to be the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 2:2 & 4:10
18. Through His Life and Death
Redemption
To be freed from sin by the payment
of the price required which was
Jesus’ life through the pouring out
of His blood.
19. Redemption
For even the Son of Man did not come
to be served, but to serve, and to give
His life a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:45
20. Redemption
For the wages of sin is death, but the
gift of God is eternal life in Christ
Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23
21. Redemption
But when the set time had fully come,
God sent his Son, born of a woman,
born under the law, to redeem those
under the law, that we might receive
adoption to sonship.
Galatians 4:4-5
22. Redemption
For you know that it was not with
perishable things such as silver or
gold that you were redeemed from the
empty way of life handed down to you
from your ancestors, but with the
precious blood of Christ, a lamb
without blemish or defect.
1 Peter 1:18-19
23. Through His Life and Death
Justification
For those who put their faith in
Jesus to be declared legally
righteous by God based on having
their sins imputed to Christ and
having His righteousness imputed to
them.
Imputed – transferred.
24. Justication
Therefore, since we have been
justified through faith, we have peace
with God through our Lord Jesus
Christ,
Romans 5:1
25. Justication
Consequently, just as one trespass
resulted in condemnation for all
people, so also one righteous act
resulted in justification and life for all
people. For just as through the
disobedience of the one man the
many were made sinners, so also
through the obedience of the one man
the many will be made righteous.
Romans 5:18-19
26. Through His Life and Death
For He made Him who knew no sin to
be sin for us, that we might become
the righteousness of God in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:21
