Tom Jones is an 18th century comic novel written by Henry Fielding. It was published in 1749 and follows the story of the character Thomas Jones, known as Tom Jones. The novel is divided into 18 smaller books. It uses elements of comedy and satire to hold a mirror up to society and critique themes such as the greed of man, the power of politics, and the tension between art and artifice.
