Mr. Pocholo de Leon Gonzales whose passion is to motivate people
and believed that every person has a unique talent and greatness
within! He was known as The VoiceMaster of the Philippines, not only
in our native land but also abroad. Choy, was only 16 years old when
he got flown in the industry of dubbing, voice acting and becoming a
radio voice talent. In 1996, one of the cartoon characters he voiced
over with was Bubu Chacha and even the famous love story, Meteor
Garden, he successfully managed to dubbed the role of Sancai’s
father. And of course the rest are history.
5. SummaryJournal
09 July 2019
At the Studio. Crossing the First Threshold into my “Radio
Internship” is not easy as 1-2-3! Reaching my “golden age” while still
in college is one of the greatfactorto considerforI am no longergetting
any younger at all. Hence, I am a nocturnal human being! My job is
in BPO and work as a Call Center Agent. I call myself
#WorkingStudentMom! I wish from the start that my schedules would
all jive together, but it didn’t come the way as I wanted it to be. Since
my workload schedule is a baggage, my health got compromised…
6. This body might be tired and exhausted but the heart and soul will never be!
Duty at night, then VG8 Radio Internship after and attending my
classes everyotherSaturday, compromised myhealth and was rushed
to the hospital due to fatigue caused of less sleep and super
exhausting schedules.
I have to choose which is which??? I will need to weigh and
choose between the two important priorities on top of my shoulders—
to drop down my Studies orpick up my Career, this was the only option
given by my Boss,to the Company I am working with, in Inspiro Relia,
Inc. plus doing my Thesis at the same time is incredible!
Though, it didn’t come easy for the HRD to approve my
7. application for the LOA (Leave Of Absence)due to too many things to
consider like for example the service level that would be greatly
affected not only with my team’s performance but to the entire
Branch/Site, still I need to pursue and prioritized it. What I did was to
pray and let the Hand of God put things together. Praise God! My
prayers and perseverance, worked! I found myself granted forthe LOA
I requested from my Boss. God answered my prayer!
Believe it or not, “If Jesus say YES, nobody can say No!” And
that was the start of my journey to VG8 Radio to learn from it.

8. I chose VG8 Radio site for my Radio Internship because it is far
from all the traditional radio stations that we have grew up with. Theirs
is an innovative approach to reach your audience even to farthest
places on earth as long as there is an internet connection. They are
one of the company who pioneered the Internet Radio in the country.
It also dubs foreign films into local language. Aside from these, the
reason why I chose this agency is that it only takes two jeepney-rides
and a short walk from our home to get there.
25 July 2019
As warm as the facility so are the people I first met. The
employees are friendly. They are very professional when it comes to
doing their job. They work quietly as if there are no other people in the
9. room. Oh yeah! Maybe, because it is a radio station and a dubbing
area as well. But, during break time we can chit chat.
It is easy for anyone to squeeze themselves in their system of
environment. Everybody is friendly and easy to approach especially
the owner himself, Mr. Pocholo Gonzales. He is so wacky and very
lively. It is just up to you how would you get along with them. As the
Voice Master said “just be yourself.”
Nothing would make you like the place. Their office is an old
building. VG8 Radio is not a high class facility. In fact if you are to look
outside, it is kinda condominium type with optional air-conditioning
system if it is going to be used or not. You would not notice that there
is a radio station inside it. When you are in the office youwill fill warm.
Not because the people are very warm. You will literally soakin sweat.
That is how warm the area is. Though they are operating in an old
building and not using air-conditioning system mostof the time, VG8 is
using a state of the art equipment. Guess, what fascinated me??? The
Voice Master himself,Mr. Pocholo Gonzales is the first one! Whenwe
arrived in his officehe was sitting on to his swivel chair behind his table.
He welcomed us. And told some stories of how the VG8 came to be.
How he started and became the Voice Master. He even showed us
10. his craft, he showed us a sample of him being the Voice Master. And
that was very funny! He impersonated SenatorJohnFlavier and Mayor
Antonio Sanchez. Second was the State of the Art equipmentthey are
using fordubbing and forbroadcasting I have been mentioning. I have
never seen like it before! Third are the people, especiallythose voices
behind the characters we loved in movies, tagalized cartoons and TV
novellas we are watching.
Looking back, my first day in VG8 I was not given any task but
was asked to observe and do a Radio Program or blog before my
Internship ends. I was toured to their office,to their dubbing room and
was introduced to differentpeople that works in VG8. The people are
all nice to me and some of them are so quiet and so serious about their
work. But, in reality they are all nice especiallythe owner, Mr. Pocholo
De Leon Gonzales, The Voice Master himself!

4 August 2019
Since VG8 Radio is doing dubbings, I was in expectant to try to
dip my finger in their activity just to know if I have the “it”. I was also
hoping to learn the things that pertains to radio announcing or being
DJs. God is good! He answered my prayer, I was granted a
Scholarship program worth Php10,000.00 forVoice Acting Workshop!

Closing:
<PORTION: TO GIVE CONCLUSION TO THE SUBJECT MATTER/PREMISE>
DJ Ivy: “Abby, can you give us your own opinion about Transgenderism?”
DJ Abby: “Well, I’ll give my conclusion first, personally I am a Transgender
Woman.”
18. DJ Ivy: “Having said that, by the way guys, again according to Oxford Dictionary,
other term for Transgender Woman is TRANS WOMAN or Transsexual Woman.
Please continue DJ Abby…”
DJ Abby: “Well, on my own opinion about this matter is, ____________.”
DJ Ivy: “Well, my PREMISE ABOUT TRANSGENDERISM-- is according to my
belief, that there are only two-kinds of people God created and these are
Man and a Woman.” And my CONCLUSION is this: We are all uniquely
created by God. And we are all in equal footing in the eyes of our
Creator. God is so kind that He gave us FREE-WILL however, WE as
individuals we should not be confused to know what is pleasing in His
eyes. And pertaining to the TALENT keep doing what you love and what
truly works in your life. There is that “one” thing that each and everyone
of us is good at. Just keep trying until you find that “one” thing! Usually
some, the “one” thing is a set of skills, a special talent or something that
you can do effortlessly but give you productive results and source of
inspiration!
Thank you for spending your time with us, also we’d like to thank Mr.
Pocholo de Leon Gonzales, The VoiceMaster of the Philippines and
CEO of CreatiVoices Media Productions. And our Station Manager, Mr.
Mark Mayo and Ms. MK Salditos for the support and opportunity to make
our Pilot Online Radio Interactive Show possible. This is your DJ Ivy
saying, Do NOT just count your blessings but share it so as you can be
a blessing to others. Always remember: Age is just a number— there is
no LATE in God’s time… So, be UNSTOPPABLE in knowing and getting
what you want! Take care and have a VG8 smile! God bless every one,
Bye for now!”

19. 4 September 2019
As far as I am concern,I have no recollections of problems occur
when it comes to my experiences in VG8. All staffs are very warm.
They are not hostile. Seriously, even though they are so quietbut if you
need help they would even give hand if you need it. What I would do
is break the ice and cracked some jokes and start offering things that
would lessentheir loads in the office like, assisting and editing scripts.
VG8’s organizational set-up is not as complex as the other
companies have. Though the coverage audience is as wide as the
entire planet their structure is but simple for the VG8 has only few
working personnel to man each department.
20. From the head, Mr. Pocholo Gonzales himself where the one
who assigned me to where I should work. According to the Voice
Master that at my age, I should be already at the managerial level.
So, he coached and asked me to observed and work with him.
He began to vision for May 2020 and even told me of his plans--and
includes me in his other projects in the future. That is, if I decided to
stay and work with him.
21. There was no particular function that was given to me. Sir
Pocholo assigned me to assist him in searching for new clients by
surfing through the internet. He also asked me to observe and take
photos of every activities in the office.
22. 6 September 2019
People in the office were all professional and easy to go along
with. They are all nice, cooperative and funny too! So, personally, I
don’t feelany negative influences. Again, as Sir Pocholo has said “Just
be yourself.” Meaning you don’t need to change anything. Go with the
flow. If you need to change something, change for the good.
Something are really meant to be changed, things that hinders your
growth.
24. Putting yourself in an unfamiliar work environment in a glimpse
was very challenging. However, through observation and help of my
colleagues in the industry, I manage to cope up. VG8 people are very
nice and helpful they would extend help in whatever they could. They
would not withdraw and keep the knowledge to themselves if you need
it.
25. Considering having a positive vibes and good rapport with my
VG8 Family, all I know is I have found friends and extended family in
this industry. It was truly fun and one of my great experience ever!
Every time I am with them are sure laughs and great time indeed! Even
when you are idle and doing nothing at times, even the owner himself
would make the office become alive. He would take his guitar and
strums the strings with some familiar songs. His voice is truly great!
Not just because he could impersonate other’s voices but he can also
sing.
26. Photo taken during our acting and dubbing workshop at VG8 Radio
Joining Batch 4 of The Voice Acting Team reveals my talent and
craft in terms of acting and dubbing! I feel like I belong to this group--
same passion, and with the same sense of direction.
27. It was one of the best rewarding moments in my life when I was
given a chance to do voice acting training and a radio program.
My time with VG8 reveals some hidden talents that I didn’t know
that I have. It is My Voice Acting skills. After attending trainings I
found some interesting talents that was ready to be uncovered.
Listening to radio drama was one of my favorite pastime when I was
young. Never thought that I will be part of it and not just seeing how
those plays are being done.
Due to time constraints limits me to grow swiftly. As I am saying,
being #WorkingStudentMom is so difficult. It requires me to balance
my work schedules, versus studies and internship at the same time…
28. I purposely make things all for the glory of God for He is my
victory! So, my mindset is-- even in my defeat, I will still praise Him
because I believe that everything happened with a purpose. No matter
what, I will continually put my trust in God, who is my Savior, my
Redeemer and my Deliverer!
*****************************To God be the glory****************************
29. Essay:
“Nothing Beats VG8!”
As part of prerequisites for our graduation without any hesitation
we applied for stations that we believe would help us enhance our
knowledge about Television and Radio operations and all its
innovations. Learning dubbing and acting in terms of its process was
just a big bonus on my part. And never have I imagined in my whole
life that I would be sitting next to a well-known personality literally and
see the people behind those voiceswe loved from radio drama, foreign
tele-novelas and animé in person.
VG8 is not your daily conventional type of radio station. It is one
of the station that pioneered the internet radio in the country. The
company didn’t focus just on airing news and broadcasting programs
for the sake of broadcasting. It did not invest merely on having the
latest technologybut on people that are behind the shows. They breed
professional talents.
30. The name VG8’s stands for “Voice of Greatness”,meaning they
develop people to have exemplary shows. VG8 does not rely on their
equipment solely to have excellent program but on their home-grown
talents that are like the Voice Master are making names for
themselves. Because equipmentdoes not make a presentations great
but the talents. Even if you have a state of the art Audio Recording
equipment but, your talents doesn’t know how and when to deliver all
is waste.
Like myself, my everyday life has not been dull not even for a
single momentwith the VG8 family during my training. There are much
joy and laughter. The fun part is not actually all about pleasures but
acquiring knowledge. Learning new things. As I was one of those
given the privilege to become part of VG8’s scholarship program for
Voice Acting Workshop.
The only thing that hinders me to grow is time itself that has
loaded me with lots of things all at the same time. It is hard to keep
balance of everything in your hands when time doesn’t seem to
31. cooperate with you. When I push myself to my limits results doesn’t
seem as good as it looks, I was rushed to the hospital twice.
Thanks to Sir Pocholo as he is very considerate. Before I was
accepted to the organization, Sir Pocholo told me of his plans. He said
he would like to include me in his projects. He wants me to oversee it
and even become partners as my age is not anymore fit to employee
level but to management according to him. Only if I would stay and
agree. That would require time to think about before I give my decision.
He said give it a time to think about it. And yet, until I end my Internship
I have not given my answer to him. Anyhow, I am not in one hundred
percent decisive mode for I still want to get my degree. I hope when
the day I am ready to accept his offer it is still open.
My Radio Internship with VG8 was so special that I even tend to
tease the owner (Sir Pocholo) and addressed him “Kuya”, and pitch
me back “Tita” in return! Though it was short, there is one thing that I
can be sure of me, I have found a friend, younger brother and family
during my stay there!
