The first category of entertainment in indonesia is music that is classified in two kinds.
First, the most popular music in Indonesia is modern music. People like to listen to Indonesian
modern music for example pop, rock, and jazz. In fact, they adopt colors and genres of western
music. Second, the other popular music in indonesia is traditional music. Indonesian people can
listen to various traditional music such as dangdut, keroncong, and campursari. Dangdut is
considered very close to people in villages and country side. On other side, people think that
keroncong music is for the elders. While campursari is only listened by Javanese people. Shortly,
we can conclude that most Indonesian people like to listen to various kinds of music.

Second, the other category of entertainment in Indonesia is movie. The best known movie
genre in Indonesia is Horror movie. It is usually very frightening and tells mysteries, myths, and
other real mystic stories. Many production houses get inspired to make such booming horror
movies as ‘Kuntilanak’, ‘Tali Pocong Perawan’, and ‘Suster Keramas’. Moreover, Indonesian
people also welcome romantic movies warmly. Some important examples of many sold-out
romantic movies are ‘AADC’, ‘AAC’, and ‘KCB’. The next important genre in the development
of Indonesian movie is comedy drama. We surely remember some of the following movies;
‘PIL’, ‘GM’, and ‘NB’. They are examples of successful comedy drama which had huge income.
Finally, action movies are also taking a very important role in the movie world in Indonesia.
