Balancing Humanity and Technology in Today's Startup Culture: A Blueprint

Founder/CEO Socially Speaking LLC
Director: The NICE Initiative
Based on the Book:
The NICE Reboot: A Guide to Becoming a Better Female Entrepreneur
ABSTRACT:
As an educator turned entrepreneur, with a background in Autism intervention and
educational technology for two decades, I view learning and behavior through a
different lens, my NICE lens. (N=Nice, I=Informed, C=Competent, E=Entrepreneurial).
It affects my actions, outlook, my choice of reading matter, and even my takeaways and

dance between artistry and architecture, between addressing the needs of “I” vs. “We”,

Common sense, caution, and episodic memory to protect your digital reputation
Multi-sensory mobile motivators (music, pictures) to stay true to yourself/your
mission
The Internet to build entrepreneurial proficiency
Real and virtual mentorship, including reverse mentorship, to guide your
entrepreneurial trajectory
Today's startup culture demands from entrepreneurs a level of knowledge and
technology savvy that is ushering in a whole new era of innovation, multi-tasking,
success, and even failure and burnout. The exhibitionist, not quite truthful nature of
