How the Diamond Industry Influences Popular Culture
In this research proposal, I wanted to delve into understanding an item that has made an enormous impact on the world for a century, a gemstone that has fascinated countless people - the diamond. The diamond industry has created too many commercial traps for society. All the saga’s ups and downs began during world war and continued into the modern world. This article will focus on how diamonds, a symbol of romance and love, have transformed into viciousness and bloodshed over the decades. Although diamonds have been shaped as an illusion of love by De Beer, who holds the global monopoly, this illusion is paid for by the blood, and people only awakened to it much later. In discussing how the "blood diamond" came to be and unraveling this particular gemstone’s mystery. Are diamonds not rare? Because the largest monopolies do not hope people to recognize this fact? Later, the subject matter jumped to the big screen; a film titled "Blood Diamond" produced an accurate view of what goes on behind the diamond industry’s scenes for audiences. Ultimately, modern technology can now have a lab-created diamond at a much lower cost and possibly eliminate those bad names on "real" diamonds.
