My Experience In My Family
Growing up, I lived a calm and peaceful life in Mongolia with my mother, father, older brother and sister. My family was perfect to me, there was
nothing but love between the five of us. My father always had a belief that as children, we need to be able to explore and learn without any
limitations. As a young child, I remember drawing on the walls of our home and learning the alphabet from my older brother before even entering
kindergarten, as well as doing simple math problems. Many parents would probably be opposed to letting their kids ruin their wallpapers, but my
parents encouraged it. It was a part of my father's beliefs; he would always say, "our home is not a museum; our kids should learn to love learning and
making art". Besides,...show more content...
A couple hours passed, and yet my father had still not shown up. My curiosity and confusion heightened. Just as I was about to question where my dad
was, I was informed that my father had been severely injured with a gunshot wound. The surgeons, unfortunately, were not successful in saving his life.
My beloved father passed away that night, and we were all there to say goodbye. After this night, my family was never the same. My brother stepped up
to be the man of the house, taking on chores such as cooking, cleaning and helping my sister and I. Unfortunately, my mother became depressed but hid
it well from the kids. The rest of my family knew, and it was decided that she needed a change in her environment to help ease her pain. She moved to
the U.S. and stayed put for a couple years in Chicago. My siblings and I kept in touch with her through the internet, while our aunt and her family
stayed in our home with us. My mother met my stepfather through a friend and found love. When they decided to get married, that was when we all
moved here. This was another addition to the list of changes, after that night. When I came to the U.S., everything was new. A new father figure, a new
home, new customs, and a completely new language. Of course, it was not easy to transition into this new life while dealing with many changes. The
one thing that never changed, however, was my

My Family And My Life
My family and I moved to the United States in the year 2002 which will be a year that will live within me for the rest of my life. At the time, I was
only six years old and I had no idea what this new country had in store for me. We lived a comfortable, luxurious lifestyle in Syria, but my parents
gave all of that up in order for not only me but my siblings to have a better future in the United States. My parents wanted to pursue the "American
Dream," and they wanted to give me the chance to pursue my dreams as well. They worked multiple low–wage jobs at first until they found the correct
job within their field in order to provide our family with the necessities of life, and I could tell that the laborious factory work was taking a toll on
my mom. I remember seeing how exhausted and beat up they were every night after work, and even at a young age, I knew that I was going to
change that. I told myself that I was going to be successful so I could give my parents all the money they could ever need and they would not have
to work another day in their life. This was very ambitious of me, but it is honestly the least I could do since they have sacrificed so much for me. I
just want to make my parents proud and let them know that all of their sacrifices were worth it. Moving countries has been a life changing experience
that has really strengthen me as an individual both academically and physically. Moving from Syria to Texas was very difficult as I had to adapt to the

Descriptive Paragraph About My Family
My mom's name is Lisa and she was a PTA but is now a stay at home mom. My dad's name is Luis and he was a chemical and nuclear engineer, but
now owns his own business. I have 3 sisters: Angie, Silencia, and Mahalia. I also have 3 brothers: Matthias, Geminiah, and Elshaddai. Angie works
with my dad to eventually take over the family business. The rest of my siblings are in school except for Elshaddai who is only 3. My family expects
me to be a good example to my younger siblings and encourage them. To do this they also expect me to do well in school and in athletics. My mom
is a very outgoing, loud, and energetic person. My dad is also very outgoing and loud, but he has more of a serious side to him. Angie is really fun,
but she also has a more relaxed personality. Mahalia is very loud, active, and argumentative. Silencia is the most soft–spoken and relaxed out of
everyone. Matthias is very outgoing, loud, and active. Geminiah and Elshaddai are both loud and very active. I have good relationships with
everyone in my family. I do have small disagreements with my siblings sometimes, but we all love each other a lot. I had a very unusual childhood,
but it was still fun. My childhood was unusual because it involved a lot of training but that's what we did together as a family, and growing up I had
friends that did the same thing and we all enjoyed it.
In grade school I competed in a lot of powerlifting meets and got to travel all over the country to break world records. I missed

I was born into a "happy" family that was actually a web of lies, which unfolded itself through a divorce. My parents' marriage was based on the
fact that my father needed a permanent residency card to stay in the United States. Some people may view this as a devastating event; however I
have chosen to embrace being an American and a Ghanaian. Coming from two different backgrounds was a challenge, because of the different values
and morals each share. These challenges have left me to understand my true purpose concerning my two cultures. I feel fortunate enough to grow up
with two different aspects on life itself. Throughout life I was considered to be the "one" on both sides of my families. I was the one who was

Such as attending a public college or becoming President of the United States. Education has therefore played an important role in my life and has been
highly valued in my family.
While the expectations of my American and Ghanaian family members were so high, their affirmation was not always there. As a child of divorced
parents, my mother raised and supported me. My father was always there mentally, emotionally, and physically, but I was financially fully
dependent on my mother. Although she had an education, we still struggled. Sometimes we didn't know where our next meal was coming from
and had to rely on others. We moved several times while I was growing up and at times, I would be left at a relative's house because of my mother's
need to get us financially stable. Things improved, I remained committed to working hard in school, and the expectations never changed. Education
has brought me, given me, and gifted me with empowerment, leadership, confidence; greater understanding of social issues and tools to work
towards social justice. As many educators say, education is the key to success. I believe that not only is it the key to success, but it's also the key to
happiness. College will help me meet my high education and career expectations that I have for myself which is to ultimately get my Professional
degree, and make a global difference. It will also help to meet my families as well. College will help me

My Family
There are many things in life that have shaped me into the person that I am today, but my family is easily the biggest influence on me. This is my
story. I was born on July 29, 2000 at Stormont–Vail Hospital to my parents, Brad Tobyne and Annie Beckley. My mom was fresh out of high school
and my dad had been graduated for a year or two before I was born. In 2003, they decided to get married. I was a flower girl in their wedding.
Unfortunately, their marriage did not last long and they decided to get a divorce in 2005, right after I started kindergarten. I started kindergarten
in 2005 at Most Pure Heart of Mary. I loved it! I had a lot of friends and my teacher was the best. However, things at home were not the best.
Although they never did it in front of me, my parents were fighting. Even at five years old, I could tell that something was not right. Finally, they
explained to me that they were not going to be together anymore. I remember them telling me that they both still loved me the same as before, but
they no longer loved each other. They said that we wouldn't live together anymore but I will still see them both as much as I want. My mom had
full custody of me but still took me over to my dad's house whenever I asked, which was quite often because I was a complete daddy's girl. I never
knew why they divorced until recently. Honestly, I am very glad they divorced when they did. I was never upset about it and I always understood that
it was for the best. Things happen for

My Expectations On My Family
Have you ever had high expectations that you have to live up to? My family has several expectations for me. One is to continue with school so I can
earn a proper education. The second expectation they have for me is to follow their rules on my future relationships. Last hope from them is for me to
act and respect myself in an appropriate way. Therefore. There are several reasons to myfamily's expectations.
The first expectation my family expects from me is to go to school and get a career. For instance, my dad's expectation of school was that he had
high hopes for me to go to a university, so I could become a successful person in life. In other words, my mom's expectation was to graduate from high
school because she didn't want me to end up like her, for she didn't not have the privilege to finish school. My parents pushed their expectation of a
proper education because they were not as fortunate to do so. Meanwhile, my grandma's expectation is for me to go to a university or a college
just like my other cousins. Since she compares my education to theirs, she tells me to be a successful student in school and have a great career.
She always told me as a child until now that I have to become a doctor because doctors make a lot of money. However, I did not want to copy my
cousins, so I decided I would make my own choices in my career. Therefore, one day I will become a teacher. So, their expectations pushed me to get
all A's; as a result, I put school and education before

My Family : A Short Story
Growing up, my family was ideal. My sisters and I were all very happy and very coddled by my father, he was my hero in my early years, he would
always be the fun and loving parent when my mom would yell. My dad was into welding, fishing, and playing guitar, I thought that no dad could
possibly be more outstanding or influential than my own, he was impeccably intelligent and resourceful. My family and I had not spent a holiday apart,
the amount of love that took place in our home was uncomparable. While growing up in my household, I had not faced many issues with myself
and my family, we had always felt secure with one another and spent our days happily together, just us five. Until one day that five became a four.
As I had gotten a little older, my parents started losing their love for each other, I was incredibly naive as a girl and felt as if this was temporary, as
if were to stop at any moment and would end and we could somehow seem to not acknowledge what took place the previous night as all of us sat in
our diningroom and devoured our breakfast in uncomforting silence. In every family you will encounter an argument between parents, but to me it
was as if the world had plunged into a vortex. I never imagined them separating, I knew my sisters and I would not be able to handle that and we
would slowly and mentally separate ourselves as well. I could not handle the heartbreak any longer so I eventually asked my mom a simple question, I
asked her where her love had

My Family My Family has always been a very important staple in my life, they come to all of my sporting events and school activities to support
me 100%. They are always there if I ever am in trouble or in need of help, they can do whatever I need. If I need a talking to and I need to calm down
and focus they can do that for me. Then there are the times that I have with my brothers and my other family and we have a lot of fun, memories that
you share with your family you will never forget. We have thanksgiving together, and all of my family comes out here for the 4th of July and we

No name, no face to put with him, heck I don't even know if I look like him. My family and I are different, there are families that don't share the
same situation as having four adopted kids that are all spread apart in age. Yet my family and I push through that and we look past that, people
don't understand they think that coming from different parents would divide us kids by thinking, "hey, you aren't my real brother " That kind of
thing does not happen, if anything being from different parents brings us together because we are so different from each other we are curious to
learn about each other. Some people see it as a tough thing to deal with and I see it as a blessing for my parents, my brothers, and myself to be
unique in this way, and we have always been a religious family so we definitely believe that each one of us kids was a blessing to our parents. The
sacrifice that they make everyday when the go to work to support four kids who they never owed anything, never had to call themselves our
parents, but they took us in and called us their own and they are angels walking, for the wonderful impact they have had on the lives of me and my

My family mean the most to me. My family is everything to me, they have helped me get to where I am today and they will continue to help me
grow and thrive. My family is not the average one mother one father one girl and one boy. My family has one dad, one mom, 4 girls and 2 boys. Plus a
little dog that goes by the name Jingles. My family is not like other families, we have a 7 seater car and when all of us want to go we squeeze in. My
family is really close too. I usually have people ask me if I get along with my siblings and I say Yes! Honestly the other day all 6 of us kids we sitting in
the living room and my sister was tapping on her cup of juice with her ring and we all started to head bang, and just little dance moves in our seats
on the couch. I don't understand how most families don't get along, yes, my family has fights and we get mad but at the end of the day these people
will always love you and will always help you. My mother is loving, fun, and very caring. She helps all of us when we are sick, even if you are my
oldest sister who is 23, she will gladly take care of you. My mom works at Southside Elementary. She loves being with the kids and loves her job. And
I am so thankful for her. My Father is loving, caring, funny, and will tell the all and more of the dad jokes that you have ever heard. My dad works at
sukups, he has been working there for I think a year now; He works hard. And I am so thankful for him. My oldest sister is Camille, she is loving
caring, loud, outgoing, and fun. She works at the IOOF home in Mason City. She has been working there for about 2 years I think, and she loves most
of the old people and has made many more friendships. She plans to go back to school to become a doctor. (right now she is a RN) I know she will go
far and will do great things. And I am so thankful for her. My second oldest sister is Elvira, she is super loud, fun, caring, hardworking, and loving.
She works for the Farm bureau and is working at one of the locations in Ames Iowa. She is doing a great job, and I know she will do so much more.
And I am so thankful for her. Gregorio Cavazos Jr is my oldest brother, he is loving, caring, fun, and hardworking. He is working at Menards in Mason

My Family Essay
Ever since I was born my mother has been supporting our family all by herself. She so often asked for help from family members and friends, but
ultimately she was the one holding our family together. When I was younger, I never actually understood how bad my mother was struggling to keep
our family together. I've never seen her cry, or break down over the stress she is under. I always thought my life was great until I got older and started
realizing that there's more to the story. I'm very grateful to have everything that I have, but it's not the same when I see others with a better.
Now that I'm older I feel as if my mother's financial stability has gotten worse over the years, and it's noticeable. Every time I need money for an
activity or anything else she never seems to have the money. I'll get very frustrated, but then move on from the situation because I know in my heart
that she's trying to juggle more than she can handle in her life. I've cried a few, but not enough to where my mother will realize I'm upset with her.
Most days in my high school years, I would go over to my friend's house, and out with their family's. Honestly, I love seeing how my friends
household operates to differently than mine.I would understand why because most of my friends included both a mother and father while mines only
have a mother. In particular, one of my closest friends family. They are a loving family and is like a second family that I've been able to come to in
need. Her family

Personal Narrative Essay : My Family Is My Life
My family is my life
Life becomes more meaningful when you realize the simple life fact that you will never get the same moment twice. I had lived with my parents
until I was 12 years old, but they could not care for me anymore, because they are working in a factory in Juarez for more than six or eight hours a
day. They did not like the idea that my sister and I would stay alone, because my older sister was studying at high school and I was studying at
elementary school. When looking for a good place that we may stay, after days of searching they found Centro Victoria de NiГ±os Vida en Jesus,a
small place but an amazing and comfortable place in Juarez. In this is a place a married couple care for many girls and boys of the same ages as me.
Our parents explained the difficult situation we were going through. They told us that it hurt them a lot to leave us, but that they did not have any more
options. The reality was that we did not have family in Juarez at the time. They told us that they found an amazing place and small place where we
can stay just during the week. All children that have a family can have a chance to go to the home. My sister and I agreed to live there because we
did not want to be alone. The first two weeks were very sad to feel that you no longer live in your house, but in this place, we are learning to be good
people, get a chance to have two incredible families and having opportunities that changed my life.
I loved the way my tutors taught us when we started living in this place. I learned how to behave. My tutors became like my parents. When I was
staying in my house, I knew that I was not a good daughter and I had many bad habits like the way I eat and my sleeping habits. It was obvious
that my parents did not see things as I did, and thus my tutor talked to me about things that I needed it to change. They explained that this it was not
easy, but if I persevere, it will work out as they told me and that people never stop learning. I learned to like other children, to eat, to sleep, to take a
shower at the right time. I also learned trust to myself, and be honest. Also, I learned that if I fall, I can stand up because people learn from their
mistakes. The last but the most important

Doing what my parents tell me to do is just one of many reasons why I am a rock of support for my family. Not only do I support my parents, but I
also support my younger cousins and brother. As an eldest brother and cousin, I feel I must be a good example for the young ones. There are
numerous methods of showing my cousins and brother support. One main way is by providing advice on making the right choices. For example my
brother had a problem at school with one of his classmates. As a mature and responsible older brother, I advised him to use the non–violent approach. I
told him to go discuss the problem and try to resolve it peacefully. My brother then asked me why he shouldn't fight his classmate. I explained how
violence is the answer to anything. I advised him to first talk to his classmate in a professional manner. If then things get out of hand, I told him to
let the teacher know the situation. In the end, my brother didn't need to get the teacher involved. In fact, their conflict was resolved by talking
through with each other. I also am very supportive of my little cousins. One way I help them out is by tutoring them once in a while. They come
over to my house and I assist them with their school work. Not only I help my cousins with their homework, but I also support them recreationally. I
play various sports and activities with them. As their older cousin/brother, I feel I should be a good role model to follow. I am also known for being there

There are things more important than money in life. As the days pass by, someone dies or is born. There are some who live their lives with
nowhere to call home.Dreaming of having a place to sleep and eat and be comfortable at. There are some who live their lives, knowing that the
next day they won't be able to wake up. Hoping that they get to stay alive another day to feel the warmth of the sunshine on their face, to smell the
freshly made breakfast, and to be healthy again. And there are those who live their lives with no family, dying to know how it feels to be embraced
by your parents. Some people never experienced having a family. Some people, including kids were never able to stay healthy. And some people
never experienced what a roof on top of their heads would be like. I am thankful to have a home where I feel secure. I am thankful to be in a healthy
condition. I am thankful to have a family.
Like most people family is my number one priority. The family is the single most important influence in a child's life. From the moment we are born,
we depend on parents and family to protect us and provide us with our needs. Our family forms our first relationships. Our family is our first teacher and
act as role models in how to act and how to experience the world around them. By nurturing and teaching us during our early years, families play an
important role in making sure we are ready to enter the world as a responsible adult. Not everyone in the world has experienced

Despite these roadblocks, my self worth and determination was unshaken. Luckily for me, the lessons that I had learned in my family life
provided a solid foundation for my character. During my first years at my Christian school, I readily imposed my opinions on gender equality into
every debate or argument I stumbled upon. Ok, maybe it was more like the arguments and debates that I started. I showered my unlucky opponent
with Bible verses supporting women, examples of successful females, and my own personal experiences with unflagging women. After a while, I
began really enjoying and reveling in these often occurring, heated discussions. I even began seeking them out. This game of bait and catch that I
played, however, left me with few friends and even fewer minds changed. It was in my freshman English class that I had a revelation during one of
our class discussions. The teacher had asked us to pick the gender that we viewed as the better one and walk to the wall designated to that specific
sex, and I was furious. I stood up, when it was time to pick our side and watched every single one of my classmates saunter over to the wall
assigned to the male gender. As each kid took their spot against the wall, I sat down in my desk located in the middle of the room. This caused my
teacher some concern. As my confused teacher approached my desk, I grew more and more incandescent. She proceeded to ask

"Hello, do you want to be my friend?" Wow, what a childish thing to say. Nevertheless, it was from my mouth in which these words came out of. I

When I was 8, my family and I lived in small house in the city town. Our life was a little bit hard, everyone in the family is always busy, my mom

The definition of family is a group of individuals involving parents and children. When focusing on the word group, we find that the definition of a
family may involve a common goal; in this case, caretaking and learning. We all may sometimes dislike our families and find them hard to deal with,
but our families have the greatest impact on our development of all. We are with our families before anyone else, and this is reflected in how great of
an impact the family system has on human development. My family is by no means a healthy family structure, and I figured that out early enough to
accept it by now. I have witnessed abuse, drug use, mental illness, wrongful death, even homelessness. My family has taught me both acceptable and

My mom would lay in bed with me after she got home from work and taught me to read by the time I was two and a half years old. She was always

wanted and sometimes even let me play his videogames (with the controller unplugged of course)! I felt like the happiest kid around, but maybe that
happiness was just blinding me, maybe I was too young to see the story I would learn to accept in years to come. First, I should introduce my parents.
My mom was a stay at home mom when I was little, she was around most of the time but when I started school she started to work part–time. She is a
suspected alcoholic and this has affected our relationship my entire life. When I was younger than 5, I would say my mom functioned under the
parenting style authoritative mainly. This means she was high in demandingness such as chores and making me eat my dinner before I left the
table, and homework before going outside to play. She was also high in responsiveness, this means she would read me a bedtime story or play
outside with me, but more importantly when I needed her, she was there for me. I grew to trust that no matter what happened, she would be there to
take care of me and to love me. When my mom fell in love with her alcohol, she fell out of love with her family and became much more uninvolved.

My Family : A Family
From this class I have learned that my family may not be as dysfunctional as I thought. There are many families out there with crazy combinations of
who and what makes up their family. 1/3 of people who married have also been divorced before and people normally repartner within 3–5 years. The
United States has one of the highest divorce rates, only Russia has a higher rate. My family is made up of my paternal and maternal biological families,
my step father 's family and some of my step mother 's, along with my adoptive family. I have been adopted on my father 's side twice and some of
their family still consider me family even though I don 't associate with either of my adoptive father 's anymore.
So being adopted twice I have had three different last names and people still remember me by other last names not necessarily the one I currently
have. Many people do not understand how I can only have been half adopted or only adopted on my father 's side and always have the same
mother. Explaining my family to someone else has always been hard, but taking this class I know have learned some of the stats of divorce,
repartnering, and remarriage after divorce which has helped me. I think to be able to explain your family to someone else when it 's as complicated as
mine you need some understanding of family.
My family is broken into two households, my mother 's and my father 's. But for both of the households the male (my father 's) are the head of the

My Experience In My Family

  • 1. My Experience In My Family Growing up, I lived a calm and peaceful life in Mongolia with my mother, father, older brother and sister. My family was perfect to me, there was nothing but love between the five of us. My father always had a belief that as children, we need to be able to explore and learn without any limitations. As a young child, I remember drawing on the walls of our home and learning the alphabet from my older brother before even entering kindergarten, as well as doing simple math problems. Many parents would probably be opposed to letting their kids ruin their wallpapers, but my parents encouraged it. It was a part of my father's beliefs; he would always say, "our home is not a museum; our kids should learn to love learning and making art". Besides,...show more content... A couple hours passed, and yet my father had still not shown up. My curiosity and confusion heightened. Just as I was about to question where my dad was, I was informed that my father had been severely injured with a gunshot wound. The surgeons, unfortunately, were not successful in saving his life. My beloved father passed away that night, and we were all there to say goodbye. After this night, my family was never the same. My brother stepped up to be the man of the house, taking on chores such as cooking, cleaning and helping my sister and I. Unfortunately, my mother became depressed but hid it well from the kids. The rest of my family knew, and it was decided that she needed a change in her environment to help ease her pain. She moved to the U.S. and stayed put for a couple years in Chicago. My siblings and I kept in touch with her through the internet, while our aunt and her family stayed in our home with us. My mother met my stepfather through a friend and found love. When they decided to get married, that was when we all moved here. This was another addition to the list of changes, after that night. When I came to the U.S., everything was new. A new father figure, a new home, new customs, and a completely new language. Of course, it was not easy to transition into this new life while dealing with many changes. The one thing that never changed, however, was my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. My Family And My Life My family and I moved to the United States in the year 2002 which will be a year that will live within me for the rest of my life. At the time, I was only six years old and I had no idea what this new country had in store for me. We lived a comfortable, luxurious lifestyle in Syria, but my parents gave all of that up in order for not only me but my siblings to have a better future in the United States. My parents wanted to pursue the "American Dream," and they wanted to give me the chance to pursue my dreams as well. They worked multiple low–wage jobs at first until they found the correct job within their field in order to provide our family with the necessities of life, and I could tell that the laborious factory work was taking a toll on my mom. I remember seeing how exhausted and beat up they were every night after work, and even at a young age, I knew that I was going to change that. I told myself that I was going to be successful so I could give my parents all the money they could ever need and they would not have to work another day in their life. This was very ambitious of me, but it is honestly the least I could do since they have sacrificed so much for me. I just want to make my parents proud and let them know that all of their sacrifices were worth it. Moving countries has been a life changing experience that has really strengthen me as an individual both academically and physically. Moving from Syria to Texas was very difficult as I had to adapt to the new Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Descriptive Paragraph About My Family My mom's name is Lisa and she was a PTA but is now a stay at home mom. My dad's name is Luis and he was a chemical and nuclear engineer, but now owns his own business. I have 3 sisters: Angie, Silencia, and Mahalia. I also have 3 brothers: Matthias, Geminiah, and Elshaddai. Angie works with my dad to eventually take over the family business. The rest of my siblings are in school except for Elshaddai who is only 3. My family expects me to be a good example to my younger siblings and encourage them. To do this they also expect me to do well in school and in athletics. My mom is a very outgoing, loud, and energetic person. My dad is also very outgoing and loud, but he has more of a serious side to him. Angie is really fun, but she also has a more relaxed personality. Mahalia is very loud, active, and argumentative. Silencia is the most soft–spoken and relaxed out of everyone. Matthias is very outgoing, loud, and active. Geminiah and Elshaddai are both loud and very active. I have good relationships with everyone in my family. I do have small disagreements with my siblings sometimes, but we all love each other a lot. I had a very unusual childhood, but it was still fun. My childhood was unusual because it involved a lot of training but that's what we did together as a family, and growing up I had friends that did the same thing and we all enjoyed it. In grade school I competed in a lot of powerlifting meets and got to travel all over the country to break world records. I missed Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Family Essay examples I was born into a "happy" family that was actually a web of lies, which unfolded itself through a divorce. My parents' marriage was based on the fact that my father needed a permanent residency card to stay in the United States. Some people may view this as a devastating event; however I have chosen to embrace being an American and a Ghanaian. Coming from two different backgrounds was a challenge, because of the different values and morals each share. These challenges have left me to understand my true purpose concerning my two cultures. I feel fortunate enough to grow up with two different aspects on life itself. Throughout life I was considered to be the "one" on both sides of my families. I was the one who was supposed to accomplish...show more content... Such as attending a public college or becoming President of the United States. Education has therefore played an important role in my life and has been highly valued in my family. While the expectations of my American and Ghanaian family members were so high, their affirmation was not always there. As a child of divorced parents, my mother raised and supported me. My father was always there mentally, emotionally, and physically, but I was financially fully dependent on my mother. Although she had an education, we still struggled. Sometimes we didn't know where our next meal was coming from and had to rely on others. We moved several times while I was growing up and at times, I would be left at a relative's house because of my mother's need to get us financially stable. Things improved, I remained committed to working hard in school, and the expectations never changed. Education has brought me, given me, and gifted me with empowerment, leadership, confidence; greater understanding of social issues and tools to work towards social justice. As many educators say, education is the key to success. I believe that not only is it the key to success, but it's also the key to happiness. College will help me meet my high education and career expectations that I have for myself which is to ultimately get my Professional degree, and make a global difference. It will also help to meet my families as well. College will help me Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. My Family There are many things in life that have shaped me into the person that I am today, but my family is easily the biggest influence on me. This is my story. I was born on July 29, 2000 at Stormont–Vail Hospital to my parents, Brad Tobyne and Annie Beckley. My mom was fresh out of high school and my dad had been graduated for a year or two before I was born. In 2003, they decided to get married. I was a flower girl in their wedding. Unfortunately, their marriage did not last long and they decided to get a divorce in 2005, right after I started kindergarten. I started kindergarten in 2005 at Most Pure Heart of Mary. I loved it! I had a lot of friends and my teacher was the best. However, things at home were not the best. Although they never did it in front of me, my parents were fighting. Even at five years old, I could tell that something was not right. Finally, they explained to me that they were not going to be together anymore. I remember them telling me that they both still loved me the same as before, but they no longer loved each other. They said that we wouldn't live together anymore but I will still see them both as much as I want. My mom had full custody of me but still took me over to my dad's house whenever I asked, which was quite often because I was a complete daddy's girl. I never knew why they divorced until recently. Honestly, I am very glad they divorced when they did. I was never upset about it and I always understood that it was for the best. Things happen for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. My Expectations On My Family Have you ever had high expectations that you have to live up to? My family has several expectations for me. One is to continue with school so I can earn a proper education. The second expectation they have for me is to follow their rules on my future relationships. Last hope from them is for me to act and respect myself in an appropriate way. Therefore. There are several reasons to myfamily's expectations. The first expectation my family expects from me is to go to school and get a career. For instance, my dad's expectation of school was that he had high hopes for me to go to a university, so I could become a successful person in life. In other words, my mom's expectation was to graduate from high school because she didn't want me to end up like her, for she didn't not have the privilege to finish school. My parents pushed their expectation of a proper education because they were not as fortunate to do so. Meanwhile, my grandma's expectation is for me to go to a university or a college just like my other cousins. Since she compares my education to theirs, she tells me to be a successful student in school and have a great career. She always told me as a child until now that I have to become a doctor because doctors make a lot of money. However, I did not want to copy my cousins, so I decided I would make my own choices in my career. Therefore, one day I will become a teacher. So, their expectations pushed me to get all A's; as a result, I put school and education before Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. My Family : A Short Story Growing up, my family was ideal. My sisters and I were all very happy and very coddled by my father, he was my hero in my early years, he would always be the fun and loving parent when my mom would yell. My dad was into welding, fishing, and playing guitar, I thought that no dad could possibly be more outstanding or influential than my own, he was impeccably intelligent and resourceful. My family and I had not spent a holiday apart, the amount of love that took place in our home was uncomparable. While growing up in my household, I had not faced many issues with myself and my family, we had always felt secure with one another and spent our days happily together, just us five. Until one day that five became a four. As I had gotten a little older, my parents started losing their love for each other, I was incredibly naive as a girl and felt as if this was temporary, as if were to stop at any moment and would end and we could somehow seem to not acknowledge what took place the previous night as all of us sat in our diningroom and devoured our breakfast in uncomforting silence. In every family you will encounter an argument between parents, but to me it was as if the world had plunged into a vortex. I never imagined them separating, I knew my sisters and I would not be able to handle that and we would slowly and mentally separate ourselves as well. I could not handle the heartbreak any longer so I eventually asked my mom a simple question, I asked her where her love had Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Essay on My Family My Family My Family has always been a very important staple in my life, they come to all of my sporting events and school activities to support me 100%. They are always there if I ever am in trouble or in need of help, they can do whatever I need. If I need a talking to and I need to calm down and focus they can do that for me. Then there are the times that I have with my brothers and my other family and we have a lot of fun, memories that you share with your family you will never forget. We have thanksgiving together, and all of my family comes out here for the 4th of July and we have the best time. During the day we go out in the boat and things in the water and at night we eat a lot of food and shoot off tons of fireworks. Then we...show more content... No name, no face to put with him, heck I don't even know if I look like him. My family and I are different, there are families that don't share the same situation as having four adopted kids that are all spread apart in age. Yet my family and I push through that and we look past that, people don't understand they think that coming from different parents would divide us kids by thinking, "hey, you aren't my real brother " That kind of thing does not happen, if anything being from different parents brings us together because we are so different from each other we are curious to learn about each other. Some people see it as a tough thing to deal with and I see it as a blessing for my parents, my brothers, and myself to be unique in this way, and we have always been a religious family so we definitely believe that each one of us kids was a blessing to our parents. The sacrifice that they make everyday when the go to work to support four kids who they never owed anything, never had to call themselves our parents, but they took us in and called us their own and they are angels walking, for the wonderful impact they have had on the lives of me and my brothers. Growing up in a large family there will always be troubles and when the ages are so far apart there will always be growing pains. Being adopted they have the choice of picking kids that are farther apart from each other which means that we are all in a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. My Family My family mean the most to me. My family is everything to me, they have helped me get to where I am today and they will continue to help me grow and thrive. My family is not the average one mother one father one girl and one boy. My family has one dad, one mom, 4 girls and 2 boys. Plus a little dog that goes by the name Jingles. My family is not like other families, we have a 7 seater car and when all of us want to go we squeeze in. My family is really close too. I usually have people ask me if I get along with my siblings and I say Yes! Honestly the other day all 6 of us kids we sitting in the living room and my sister was tapping on her cup of juice with her ring and we all started to head bang, and just little dance moves in our seats on the couch. I don't understand how most families don't get along, yes, my family has fights and we get mad but at the end of the day these people will always love you and will always help you. My mother is loving, fun, and very caring. She helps all of us when we are sick, even if you are my oldest sister who is 23, she will gladly take care of you. My mom works at Southside Elementary. She loves being with the kids and loves her job. And I am so thankful for her. My Father is loving, caring, funny, and will tell the all and more of the dad jokes that you have ever heard. My dad works at sukups, he has been working there for I think a year now; He works hard. And I am so thankful for him. My oldest sister is Camille, she is loving caring, loud, outgoing, and fun. She works at the IOOF home in Mason City. She has been working there for about 2 years I think, and she loves most of the old people and has made many more friendships. She plans to go back to school to become a doctor. (right now she is a RN) I know she will go far and will do great things. He is working at Menards in Mason city Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. My Family Essay Ever since I was born my mother has been supporting our family all by herself. She so often asked for help from family members and friends, but ultimately she was the one holding our family together. When I was younger, I never actually understood how bad my mother was struggling to keep our family together. I've never seen her cry, or break down over the stress she is under. I always thought my life was great until I got older and started realizing that there's more to the story. I'm very grateful to have everything that I have, but it's not the same when I see others with a better. Now that I'm older I feel as if my mother's financial stability has gotten worse over the years, and it's noticeable. Every time I need money for an activity or anything else she never seems to have the money. I'll get very frustrated, but then move on from the situation because I know in my heart that she's trying to juggle more than she can handle in her life. I've cried a few, but not enough to where my mother will realize I'm upset with her. Most days in my high school years, I would go over to my friend's house, and out with their family's. Honestly, I love seeing how my friends household operates to differently than mine.I would understand why because most of my friends included both a mother and father while mines only have a mother. In particular, one of my closest friends family. They are a loving family and is like a second family that I've been able to come to in need. Her family Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Personal Narrative Essay : My Family Is My Life My family is my life Life becomes more meaningful when you realize the simple life fact that you will never get the same moment twice. I had lived with my parents until I was 12 years old, but they could not care for me anymore, because they are working in a factory in Juarez for more than six or eight hours a day. They did not like the idea that my sister and I would stay alone, because my older sister was studying at high school and I was studying at elementary school. When looking for a good place that we may stay, after days of searching they found Centro Victoria de NiГ±os Vida en Jesus,a small place but an amazing and comfortable place in Juarez. In this is a place a married couple care for many girls and boys of the same ages as me. Our parents explained the difficult situation we were going through. They told us that it hurt them a lot to leave us, but that they did not have any more options. The reality was that we did not have family in Juarez at the time. They told us that they found an amazing place and small place where we can stay just during the week. All children that have a family can have a chance to go to the home. My sister and I agreed to live there because we did not want to be alone. The first two weeks were very sad to feel that you no longer live in your house, but in this place, we are learning to be good people, get a chance to have two incredible families and having opportunities that changed my life. I loved the way my tutors taught us when we started living in this place. I learned how to behave. My tutors became like my parents. When I was staying in my house, I knew that I was not a good daughter and I had many bad habits like the way I eat and my sleeping habits. It was obvious that my parents did not see things as I did, and thus my tutor talked to me about things that I needed it to change. They explained that this it was not easy, but if I persevere, it will work out as they told me and that people never stop learning. I learned to like other children, to eat, to sleep, to take a shower at the right time. I also learned trust to myself, and be honest. Also, I learned that if I fall, I can stand up because people learn from their mistakes. The last but the most important Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. My Family Essay No one can't meet a family like mine's. My family is well diversified. Every family member plays an important role in all my family's lives. In my family, there are four people: my father, my mother, my little brother and me. My father is one who brings money home and is also responsible for organizing and planning family trips. My mother is the one who is in charge for making meals and makes sure everyone eats at the appropriate times. My little brother is the pet of the family. He actually doesn't have any responsibilities, for he's the pet. I am the rock of support in my family. I always go beyond my parents' expectations. Doing what my parents tell me to do is just one of many reasons why I am a rock of support for my family. Not only do I support my parents, but I also support my younger cousins and brother. As an eldest brother and cousin, I feel I must be a good example for the young ones. There are numerous methods of showing my cousins and brother support. One main way is by providing advice on making the right choices. For example my brother had a problem at school with one of his classmates. As a mature and responsible older brother, I advised him to use the non–violent approach. I told him to go discuss the problem and try to resolve it peacefully. My brother then asked me why he shouldn't fight his classmate. I explained how violence is the answer to anything. I advised him to first talk to his classmate in a professional manner. If then things get out of hand, I told him to let the teacher know the situation. In the end, my brother didn't need to get the teacher involved. In fact, their conflict was resolved by talking through with each other. I also am very supportive of my little cousins. One way I help them out is by tutoring them once in a while. They come over to my house and I assist them with their school work. Not only I help my cousins with their homework, but I also support them recreationally. I play various sports and activities with them. As their older cousin/brother, I feel I should be a good role model to follow. I am also known for being there Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. My Family There are things more important than money in life. As the days pass by, someone dies or is born. There are some who live their lives with nowhere to call home.Dreaming of having a place to sleep and eat and be comfortable at. There are some who live their lives, knowing that the next day they won't be able to wake up. Hoping that they get to stay alive another day to feel the warmth of the sunshine on their face, to smell the freshly made breakfast, and to be healthy again. And there are those who live their lives with no family, dying to know how it feels to be embraced by your parents. Some people never experienced having a family. Some people, including kids were never able to stay healthy. And some people never experienced what a roof on top of their heads would be like. I am thankful to have a home where I feel secure. I am thankful to be in a healthy condition. I am thankful to have a family. Like most people family is my number one priority. The family is the single most important influence in a child's life. From the moment we are born, we depend on parents and family to protect us and provide us with our needs. Our family forms our first relationships. Our family is our first teacher and act as role models in how to act and how to experience the world around them. By nurturing and teaching us during our early years, families play an important role in making sure we are ready to enter the world as a responsible adult. • 14. My Family Essay I have been fortunate enough to have grown up in a content and supportive family. My parents are still married, my grandparents, and even some great grandparents, survived to see me grow up, and I have a good relationship with my immediate and extended family. My family and my experiences with them have formed me into the person that I am today. Despite having an average, middle class, white picket fence life, my family is not as ordinary as they seem on the surface. The element of my family that has had the most impact on me and my character is the fact that most of my family is set up in a matriarchal fashion. In short, the women of my family are resolute, confident, and in charge. Although the women of my family are in...show more content... Despite these roadblocks, my self worth and determination was unshaken. Luckily for me, the lessons that I had learned in my family life provided a solid foundation for my character. During my first years at my Christian school, I readily imposed my opinions on gender equality into every debate or argument I stumbled upon. Ok, maybe it was more like the arguments and debates that I started. I showered my unlucky opponent with Bible verses supporting women, examples of successful females, and my own personal experiences with unflagging women. After a while, I began really enjoying and reveling in these often occurring, heated discussions. I even began seeking them out. This game of bait and catch that I played, however, left me with few friends and even fewer minds changed. It was in my freshman English class that I had a revelation during one of our class discussions. The teacher had asked us to pick the gender that we viewed as the better one and walk to the wall designated to that specific sex, and I was furious. I stood up, when it was time to pick our side and watched every single one of my classmates saunter over to the wall assigned to the male gender. As each kid took their spot against the wall, I sat down in my desk located in the middle of the room. This caused my teacher some concern. As my confused teacher approached my desk, I grew more and more incandescent. She proceeded to ask Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. My Family "Hello, do you want to be my friend?" Wow, what a childish thing to say. Nevertheless, it was from my mouth in which these words came out of. I remember constantly saying this exact line to almost everyone I know, and the response I got was always something similar to a smile and "of course", what happens after this is playing for hours on end and departing when our parents dragged us home. That was how I lived my childhood, making new friends wherever I go and ending everyone with separation due to our parents. During those times, I would be so annoyed with my mom, dragging me home every time we started to have fun. I now realize it was because we were a mess, covered in dirt and due to the fun we were having we didn't even realize it was raining. But when I had realized this care that my parents had for me it was too late, my parents had divorced and I was left with my dad. From the point since my parents divorced, I realized how important family was to me, and I just couldn't be the same as I was before. My parents would constantly have fought over the phone and I would slowly hide away and pretend to be fine. I was like a piece of paper that got scrunched up into a ball, and no matter how much you tried to straighten my wrinkles it can never be perfect like it used to be. As I was pretending to be fine and unaffected by this divorce the sadder I get because there would be anybody who would urge me to go home even when I wanted to. One day I came home from school and put my backpack on the hanger, slowly walk into the kitchen where my mom is making food for our family dinner. I sat down and say "Hi mom, I'm home" with an excited but also tired voice. Then suddenly, she turns back and walk to me, sit down on the chair and asked "So, how was school school today, my dear? Did you have fun? What have you learned today?" with an lovely voice. • 17. My Family Essay The definition of family is a group of individuals involving parents and children. When focusing on the word group, we find that the definition of a family may involve a common goal; in this case, caretaking and learning. We all may sometimes dislike our families and find them hard to deal with, but our families have the greatest impact on our development of all. We are with our families before anyone else, and this is reflected in how great of an impact the family system has on human development. My family is by no means a healthy family structure, and I figured that out early enough to accept it by now. I have witnessed abuse, drug use, mental illness, wrongful death, even homelessness. My family has taught me both acceptable and corrupt...show more content... My mom would lay in bed with me after she got home from work and taught me to read by the time I was two and a half years old. She was always outside with me playing and my dad would laugh the loudest when we had tickle fights in his chair by the fire. My brother would play any game I wanted and sometimes even let me play his videogames (with the controller unplugged of course)! I felt like the happiest kid around, but maybe that happiness was just blinding me, maybe I was too young to see the story I would learn to accept in years to come. First, I should introduce my parents. My mom was a stay at home mom when I was little, she was around most of the time but when I started school she started to work part–time. She is a suspected alcoholic and this has affected our relationship my entire life. When I was younger than 5, I would say my mom functioned under the parenting style authoritative mainly. This means she was high in demandingness such as chores and making me eat my dinner before I left the table, and homework before going outside to play. She was also high in responsiveness, this means she would read me a bedtime story or play outside with me, but more importantly when I needed her, she was there for me. I grew to trust that no matter what happened, she would be there to take care of me and to love me. When my mom fell in love with her alcohol, she fell out of love with her family and became much more uninvolved. Her parenting style also began to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. My Family : A Family From this class I have learned that my family may not be as dysfunctional as I thought. There are many families out there with crazy combinations of who and what makes up their family. 1/3 of people who married have also been divorced before and people normally repartner within 3–5 years. The United States has one of the highest divorce rates, only Russia has a higher rate. My family is made up of my paternal and maternal biological families, my step father 's family and some of my step mother 's, along with my adoptive family. I have been adopted on my father 's side twice and some of their family still consider me family even though I don 't associate with either of my adoptive father 's anymore. So being adopted twice I have had three different last names and people still remember me by other last names not necessarily the one I currently have. Many people do not understand how I can only have been half adopted or only adopted on my father 's side and always have the same mother. Explaining my family to someone else has always been hard, but taking this class I know have learned some of the stats of divorce, repartnering, and remarriage after divorce which has helped me. I think to be able to explain your family to someone else when it 's as complicated as mine you need some understanding of family. My family is broken into two households, my mother 's and my father 's. But for both of the households the male (my father 's) are the head of the households, they are the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
