When I Was Born Into A Close Family
I was born into a very close family. For three years it was just my parents and me; later my sister
came along. The most important thing to me with my family is how close we are. I have always
felt that I can tell my mom, dad, or sister anything that has happened in my life. We have always
been very honest and open to each other. I have always gotten along with my parents. My dad is a
stock broker and this past year I interned in his office. I wasn't a huge fan of being in an office taking
calls most the day; that career path is probably not in my future. My mom used to be an interior
designer before we moved from New York City to Park City, Utah. She now mostly spends her time
hiking, biking, and going to the gym. My sister and I have always gotten along very well, she also
plays lacrosse and aspires to play in college as well. Growing up, my family would take having
dinner together very serious. Most of the time my mom would cook, or we would go out. Ideally,
my parents would want us to be there, if we couldn't make it to dinner, my mom would want at
least two hours notice. About 15 minutes before dinner, my sister or I would set the table.
Whoever wasn't setting the table would feed the dogs, and lock them in the mud room. If we don't
lock them up, they will bother us for food. The final step before sitting at the table, was filling the
waters. We would only fill three waters, because my mom refuses to drink water at dinner as she
thinks it is too close

My Family Essay
Anybody who knows me, knows that my family situation is pretty crazy. Just describing my
immediate family sometimes baffles people and leads me into having to explain in more detail the
constitution of my family. For starters, My mother came from the Philippines and my Dad is
currently 77. Let's dive into the details of my family.
The category my immediate family best fits into is a blended family. Mainly because of my
father. He has remarried 3 times but has finally settled down with my mother. He has 2 sons with
his ex wife which makes them my half brothers. Since my Dad is 77, my brothers are in their late
40's so it's pretty difficult to explain to people my brothers ages. What is even more shocking to
people is that both of my half brothers have children. Both of which are older than me. The look
on people's faces when I tell them that I am an uncle with nieces that are both a year older than
me is amusing. However, what I consider my immediate family, my mom and my dad, we are a
isolated nuclear two earner family if you could combine the two. My mother has never had a
divorce and has been with my father for 23 years now. They are both great, supportive, and loving
parents.
In my family, there is definitely a solidified instrumental family role. It lays within my dad.
Although me and him collaborate when making decisions for the household, he is usually the man
of the house. He is the breadwinner in the family as he owns how own automobile shop for over 50
years. The

No one can't meet a family like mine's. My family is well diversified. Every family member plays
an important role in all my family's lives. In my family, there are four people: my father, my
mother, my little brother and me. My father is one who brings money home and is also responsible
for organizing and planning family trips. My mother is the one who is in charge for making meals
and makes sure everyone eats at the appropriate times. My little brother is the pet of the family. He
actually doesn't have any responsibilities, for he's the pet. I am the rock of support in my family. I
always go beyond my parents' expectations. I also support my younger cousins and little brother, by
being a role model that they can look up to. Another...show more content...
Doing what my parents tell me to do is just one of many reasons why I am a rock of support for
my family. Not only do I support my parents, but I also support my younger cousins and brother.
As an eldest brother and cousin, I feel I must be a good example for the young ones. There are
numerous methods of showing my cousins and brother support. One main way is by providing
advice on making the right choices. For example my brother had a problem at school with one of
his classmates. As a mature and responsible older brother, I advised him to use the non–violent
approach. I told him to go discuss the problem and try to resolve it peacefully. My brother then
asked me why he shouldn't fight his classmate. I explained how violence is the answer to
anything. I advised him to first talk to his classmate in a professional manner. If then things get
out of hand, I told him to let the teacher know the situation. In the end, my brother didn't need to
get the teacher involved. In fact, their conflict was resolved by talking through with each other. I
also am very supportive of my little cousins. One way I help them out is by tutoring them once in
a while. They come over to my house and I assist them with their school work. Not only I help my
cousins with their homework, but I also support them recreationally. I play various sports and
activities with them. As their older cousin/brother, I feel I should be a good role model to follow. I
am also known for being there

My Family Traditions
My family has a lot of different traditions, but one stands out more than the others. The holiday I am
talking about is Christmas. My family has always celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve. We start
the celebration by going to our church's Christmas Eve service. During this service, we sing
Christmas songs and watch a video of the first Christmas. After the service, all my family goes to my
grandparents' house to open presents and have supper. The meal is different than most Christmas
meals. All of my family members bring an appetizer instead of bringing a main dish. One of my
cousins is Haitian and one of uncles is Italian, so we have a lot of different cultures represented.
My favorite is my uncle's meatballs. Once we eat we have two different places to sit. One is
called the kids' room and the other is the adult room. You are supposed to sit at the kids' table if
you are not married. Once we have finished eating we all head to the living room to open presents.
Before we open presents, one of my younger cousins reads a Christmas poem. A different cousin
reads the story every year.
When it is finally time to open presents, we always open them one person at a time and always go
from youngest to oldest. We go one at a time because my grandma likes to see what everyone got.
Once everyone has opened their presents, my grandma tries to recruit some people to play bingo.
She likes being the person who calls out the numbers because that's what her mom always did. We
have been doing all of these things for as long as I can remember. My dad says they have been
doing things this way for the last 40 years. My grandma is the main person that has been carrying on
these traditions.
I would say my grandmother is the glue to our family so everyone follows her lead. I think that
my other family members are so used to doing these things that they will continue to do them in
the future. I would say I am a participant in this tradition. I am one of the younger grandchildren,
so I do not say much or try to change anything. If I did offer a new idea, I do think my grandma
would consider it. My whole family takes part in this tradition. I have six aunts and uncles and
twelve cousins, so my family is pretty big. Everyone

My Family Essay
Over the past years of my life, many things have changed, including my friends, lifestyle, religious
beliefs and jobs. With everything constantly changing around me, there is one thing that has always
stayed the same: my family. When I think about my most blissful moments in life, they all involve
my family. My relationship with my parents, brother, husband and children is something that I learn
to treasure more and more every day. There are many significant things in my life, but the most
important relationship to me is family.
My family can bring out the best and worst in me. Although you cannot choose your family, they are
the people I can relate to the most. My family, they are my cheerleaders, always cheering me on
wanting only the best for me. At this present time my family has made me who I am today. Without
my dad pushing me to excel in life or my brother forcing me to apply to Springfield College, I
would not be where I am today. They have challenged me, loved me and made me a better person.
They have guided me through life and have constantly been my number one fans in all of my life
decisions.
There has never once been a moment in my life where my family was not there when I needed
them. They have been there with me through my best times, worst times and times where I did not
think I had anyone. As I got older, the more I come to the realization that people who say they will
always be there for you are not always there for you. But if it is two in the morning or

What is a family?
What is a family? Most people get confused about the definition of family. A family is having a
close relationship to a group of people and they do not have to be blood related. That group of
people should share respect, love, and loyalty. Usually a family is consisting of a father, mother,
and siblings. However, mine is grandparents, parents, and siblings. Families are important because
they give love and security. For example, I always feel loved when I am with my family, and secured
or protected. A person can learn anything from family such as respecting people, dealing with
situation, and starting a new family of own based on the family. My family has influenced me in
many aspects but most the influence is about my personality. My...show more content...
My mother is competitive she likes to be the best in everything she does. As mentioned before,
my father always hosts family gathering and all my aunts and my uncles' wives bring homemade
food, and my mother work hard to make her food tastes the best. For example, she could spend all
her day cooking just to prove her point. Also, my mother is a good listener she can listen to anyone
and give advice about anything. Moreover, my mother likes to be unique in everything. For
example, sometimes she designs her own clothes just to look special or shop from rare designers.
My mother is sophisticated house maker and I cannot live without her.
I learned from my mother how to take care of people blood related or not. For example, seeing her
with my grandparents and how their relationship is strong makes me proud about my mother.
That has a major influence in my life and I wanted to be like her. In addition, she imprinted her
competitive personality to me. I became competitive because of seeing her taking so much stress
on anything just to look good. For example, I became competitive with videogames I like to get
the high score among all my friends. Also since she is a listener my relationship with her is strong.
That influenced my life because I enjoy listening to people and giving them advice. Another mark
my mother gave my personality is to be unique. For example, I started looking for things that my
friends do not have to be

Family Definition Essay
Since the united stated has become so diverse that the definition of family has change, therefore, in
my perspective, culture background, and personal experience, a family is not only blood related that
lives in the same household but also someone that has been by my side showing empowerment
through rough times. Therefore, I perceive the definition of family as, someone who, has seen the
good and the bad side of me and still accept me who I am with judging me. Someone that has helped
me through a difficult situation without asking anything in return. A family that is very supportive,
therefore, making me believe in myself and feel very motivated to keep me going every day even

My Family My Family has always been a very important staple in my life, they come to all of my

No name, no face to put with him, heck I don't even know if I look like him. My family and I are
different, there are families that don't share the same situation as having four adopted kids that
are all spread apart in age. Yet my family and I push through that and we look past that, people
don't understand they think that coming from different parents would divide us kids by
thinking, "hey, you aren't my real brother " That kind of thing does not happen, if anything being
from different parents brings us together because we are so different from each other we are
curious to learn about each other. Some people see it as a tough thing to deal with and I see it as
a blessing for my parents, my brothers, and myself to be unique in this way, and we have always
been a religious family so we definitely believe that each one of us kids was a blessing to our
parents. The sacrifice that they make everyday when the go to work to support four kids who
they never owed anything, never had to call themselves our parents, but they took us in and
called us their own and they are angels walking, for the wonderful impact they have had on the
lives of me and my brothers. Growing up in a large family there will always be troubles and when
the ages are so far apart there will always be growing pains. Being adopted they have the choice of

What Is A Family? Essay
For most of us, the family is considered as a well–known and comfortable institution. The perfect
model of the 'ideal' family is still mostly considered to be consisted from two different sexes'
parents, and one or more children. Until quite recently, the sociology of the family was mostly
functionalist and just in the last few decades has been challenged from various directions. There are
many different definitions about what the family is. Different theoretical positions influence these
variations. For example, the functionalist sociologist George Peter Murdock defines the family as "a
social group characterized by common residence, economic co–operation and reproduction. It
includes adults of both sexes, at least two of whom maintain...show more content...
An early functionalist George Murdock argued that the family plays the main role in the society by
performing three main functions– пЃ¶Stabilisation of the sexual behaviour and reproduction.
пЃ¶Providing the basic economic requirements. пЃ¶Serving the function of socialisation of the next
generation. G. Murdock claimed that without family serving these three functions the society would
disappear. He considered these functions as universal, although he agreed that they could develop.
Talcott Parsons argues this statement, by saying, that there are two broad functions of the family–
primary socialisation and stabilisation of the adult personality 'throughout the emotional security,
including sexual expression, provided by marriage' (O'Donnell, 1997). In these days, when society
is changing, the functionalistic statements lose their strength. For example, the sex outside the
marriage, in these days of easily available contraception, is no more the taboo. Margaret Mead
argues Murdock's and Parsons imply that nuclear family is biologically necessary and natural. She
stated that the nuclear family is based on culture, not biology. Marxist views on the family Marxists
have very critical view of the family and society. They adopt a structural perspective, but put it in
the class nature of the society. The starting point for the most Marxist analyses of gender and the
family is Friedrich Engels' (1820–1895) The Origin of the

I have been fortunate enough to have grown up in a content and supportive family. My parents are
still married, my grandparents, and even some great grandparents, survived to see me grow up, and
I have a good relationship with my immediate and extended family. My family and my experiences
with them have formed me into the person that I am today. Despite having an average, middle class,
white picket fence life, my family is not as ordinary as they seem on the surface. The element of my
family that has had the most impact on me and my character is the fact that most of my family is set

Despite these roadblocks, my self worth and determination was unshaken. Luckily for me, the
lessons that I had learned in my family life provided a solid foundation for my character. During
my first years at my Christian school, I readily imposed my opinions on gender equality into
every debate or argument I stumbled upon. Ok, maybe it was more like the arguments and
debates that I started. I showered my unlucky opponent with Bible verses supporting women,
examples of successful females, and my own personal experiences with unflagging women. After
a while, I began really enjoying and reveling in these often occurring, heated discussions. I even
began seeking them out. This game of bait and catch that I played, however, left me with few
friends and even fewer minds changed. It was in my freshman English class that I had a
revelation during one of our class discussions. The teacher had asked us to pick the gender that
we viewed as the better one and walk to the wall designated to that specific sex, and I was furious.
I stood up, when it was time to pick our side and watched every single one of my classmates
saunter over to the wall assigned to the male gender. As each kid took their spot against the wall, I
sat down in my desk located in the middle of the room. This caused my teacher some concern. As
my confused teacher approached my desk, I grew more and more incandescent. She proceeded to ask

Family is one of the most important relationships that an individual will encounter in his/her lifetime.
I have often times heard the saying "blood is thicker than water" and I do agree that this quote is
truthful. Many families share the same blood and the connection is very deep. Even families that do
not share the same blood have deep connections that make them family. Family can be immediate or
distant and can originate in many shapes or forms. In this paper I will observe my personal,
immediate family and share some characteristic as well as describe in what way it relates to the
family systems that we have encountered in this class until this point. My personal, immediate

My Family Essay
Family, when you hear that word what do you think? Most people will think of their siblings or
parents, but family is more than that. A family is the people that help you grow up, learn, live, and
much more. Your family is filled with people that we love the most and they create memories that
last a lifetime.
Your family consists of a lot of people. Whether you are an only child or you have ten siblings
your family, a family has a great number of people. First let's start with the people at the very top
of the family tree, your grandparents. Your grandparents are your mom or dad's, parents. You
would probably call them grandma and grandpa. After grandparents, we come to your mom and
dad, your parents. They are the people that gave you life and help you become a great person.
Next in the family tree is you and your brothers and or sisters. Then as generations go on there will
be more added to your family tree.
Family can be frustrating you might just want to walk out of the house and get away from your
family for a while, but you will soon realize that you love them dearly. The people in your family
are the people you will always be with both physically and spiritually. They help you when you are
sad and make sure that you are happy all the time because they love you. And they help you get a
good education because they want the best for you.
Depending on your religion your family may celebrate some traditions that include the family to
celebrate all together. Even if parts

Definition Of Family Essay
You never know what something really means until you experience it. Like the definition of
family. Family doesn't mean you have to be joined by blood, you don't have to be related
biologically. Family for me is unity. Having money & luxuries doesn't compare to family. You can't
buy a family. Family will unconditionally be there for you, even when you do a wrong. Someone
once said, "Family: Where life begins and love never ends." I agree with this quote because I can
relate to it. Family is a beautiful thing and people just have to open up to experience it.
My definition of family is having people there for no matter. Feeling loved and joined with them,
regardless if biologically or not. On the other hand, the dictionary is a tool we use when we don't
know what something is or means. The definition of "Family" in the dictionary is "a basic unit
consisting of parents and their children, considered as a group, whether dwelling together or not: the
traditional family." I think my definition is better than the dictionary's...show more content...

each other my closest friends were there for me as well they are my family. It was a beautiful
thing to see in this is why I know family will always be there. I am old enough and mature enough
to understand that everyone looks at things differently. Family may not be number one to most
people. Maybe stages or experiences in their life made them think differently. Honestly, it's
something that I will take with me forever. It's my lifestyle norm, my definition. It's what's
fundamental to me and it's what's going to make me strive, knowing that I have family, people who
care for me. It's

  • 1. When I Was Born Into A Close Family I was born into a very close family. For three years it was just my parents and me; later my sister came along. The most important thing to me with my family is how close we are. I have always felt that I can tell my mom, dad, or sister anything that has happened in my life. We have always been very honest and open to each other. I have always gotten along with my parents. My dad is a stock broker and this past year I interned in his office. I wasn't a huge fan of being in an office taking calls most the day; that career path is probably not in my future. My mom used to be an interior designer before we moved from New York City to Park City, Utah. She now mostly spends her time hiking, biking, and going to the gym. My sister and I have always gotten along very well, she also plays lacrosse and aspires to play in college as well. Growing up, my family would take having dinner together very serious. Most of the time my mom would cook, or we would go out. Ideally, my parents would want us to be there, if we couldn't make it to dinner, my mom would want at least two hours notice. About 15 minutes before dinner, my sister or I would set the table. Whoever wasn't setting the table would feed the dogs, and lock them in the mud room. If we don't lock them up, they will bother us for food. The final step before sitting at the table, was filling the waters. We would only fill three waters, because my mom refuses to drink water at dinner as she thinks it is too close Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. My Family Essay Anybody who knows me, knows that my family situation is pretty crazy. Just describing my immediate family sometimes baffles people and leads me into having to explain in more detail the constitution of my family. For starters, My mother came from the Philippines and my Dad is currently 77. Let's dive into the details of my family. The category my immediate family best fits into is a blended family. Mainly because of my father. He has remarried 3 times but has finally settled down with my mother. He has 2 sons with his ex wife which makes them my half brothers. Since my Dad is 77, my brothers are in their late 40's so it's pretty difficult to explain to people my brothers ages. What is even more shocking to people is that both of my half brothers have children. Both of which are older than me. The look on people's faces when I tell them that I am an uncle with nieces that are both a year older than me is amusing. However, what I consider my immediate family, my mom and my dad, we are a isolated nuclear two earner family if you could combine the two. My mother has never had a divorce and has been with my father for 23 years now. They are both great, supportive, and loving parents. In my family, there is definitely a solidified instrumental family role. It lays within my dad. Although me and him collaborate when making decisions for the household, he is usually the man of the house. He is the breadwinner in the family as he owns how own automobile shop for over 50 years. • 3. My Family Essay No one can't meet a family like mine's. My family is well diversified. Every family member plays an important role in all my family's lives. In my family, there are four people: my father, my mother, my little brother and me. My father is one who brings money home and is also responsible for organizing and planning family trips. My mother is the one who is in charge for making meals and makes sure everyone eats at the appropriate times. My little brother is the pet of the family. He actually doesn't have any responsibilities, for he's the pet. I am the rock of support in my family. I always go beyond my parents' expectations. I also support my younger cousins and little brother, by being a role model that they can look up to. Another...show more content... Doing what my parents tell me to do is just one of many reasons why I am a rock of support for my family. Not only do I support my parents, but I also support my younger cousins and brother. As an eldest brother and cousin, I feel I must be a good example for the young ones. There are numerous methods of showing my cousins and brother support. One main way is by providing advice on making the right choices. For example my brother had a problem at school with one of his classmates. As a mature and responsible older brother, I advised him to use the non–violent approach. I told him to go discuss the problem and try to resolve it peacefully. My brother then asked me why he shouldn't fight his classmate. I explained how violence is the answer to anything. I advised him to first talk to his classmate in a professional manner. If then things get out of hand, I told him to let the teacher know the situation. In the end, my brother didn't need to get the teacher involved. In fact, their conflict was resolved by talking through with each other. I also am very supportive of my little cousins. One way I help them out is by tutoring them once in a while. They come over to my house and I assist them with their school work. Not only I help my cousins with their homework, but I also support them recreationally. I play various sports and activities with them. As their older cousin/brother, I feel I should be a good role model to follow. I am also known for being there Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Family Traditions My family has a lot of different traditions, but one stands out more than the others. The holiday I am talking about is Christmas. My family has always celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve. We start the celebration by going to our church's Christmas Eve service. During this service, we sing Christmas songs and watch a video of the first Christmas. After the service, all my family goes to my grandparents' house to open presents and have supper. The meal is different than most Christmas meals. All of my family members bring an appetizer instead of bringing a main dish. One of my cousins is Haitian and one of uncles is Italian, so we have a lot of different cultures represented. My favorite is my uncle's meatballs. Once we eat we have two different places to sit. One is called the kids' room and the other is the adult room. You are supposed to sit at the kids' table if you are not married. Once we have finished eating we all head to the living room to open presents. Before we open presents, one of my younger cousins reads a Christmas poem. A different cousin reads the story every year. When it is finally time to open presents, we always open them one person at a time and always go from youngest to oldest. We go one at a time because my grandma likes to see what everyone got. Once everyone has opened their presents, my grandma tries to recruit some people to play bingo. She likes being the person who calls out the numbers because that's what her mom always did. We have been doing all of these things for as long as I can remember. My dad says they have been doing things this way for the last 40 years. My grandma is the main person that has been carrying on these traditions. I would say my grandmother is the glue to our family so everyone follows her lead. I think that my other family members are so used to doing these things that they will continue to do them in the future. I would say I am a participant in this tradition. I am one of the younger grandchildren, so I do not say much or try to change anything. If I did offer a new idea, I do think my grandma would consider it. My whole family takes part in this tradition. I have six aunts and uncles and twelve cousins, so my family is pretty big. Everyone Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. My Family Essay Over the past years of my life, many things have changed, including my friends, lifestyle, religious beliefs and jobs. With everything constantly changing around me, there is one thing that has always stayed the same: my family. When I think about my most blissful moments in life, they all involve my family. My relationship with my parents, brother, husband and children is something that I learn to treasure more and more every day. There are many significant things in my life, but the most important relationship to me is family. My family can bring out the best and worst in me. Although you cannot choose your family, they are the people I can relate to the most. My family, they are my cheerleaders, always cheering me on wanting only the best for me. At this present time my family has made me who I am today. Without my dad pushing me to excel in life or my brother forcing me to apply to Springfield College, I would not be where I am today. They have challenged me, loved me and made me a better person. They have guided me through life and have constantly been my number one fans in all of my life decisions. There has never once been a moment in my life where my family was not there when I needed them. They have been there with me through my best times, worst times and times where I did not think I had anyone. As I got older, the more I come to the realization that people who say they will always be there for you are not always there for you. But if it is two in the morning or Get more content on HelpWriting.net

My mother is sophisticated house maker and I cannot live without her. I learned from my mother how to take care of people blood related or not. For example, seeing her with my grandparents and how their relationship is strong makes me proud about my mother. That has a major influence in my life and I wanted to be like her. In addition, she imprinted her competitive personality to me. I became competitive because of seeing her taking so much stress on anything just to look good. For example, I became competitive with videogames I like to get the high score among all my friends. Also since she is a listener my relationship with her is strong. That influenced my life because I enjoy listening to people and giving them advice. Another mark my mother gave my personality is to be unique. Yet my family and I push through that and we look past that, people don't understand they think that coming from different parents would divide us kids by thinking, "hey, you aren't my real brother " That kind of thing does not happen, if anything being from different parents brings us together because we are so different from each other we are curious to learn about each other. Some people see it as a tough thing to deal with and I see it as a blessing for my parents, my brothers, and myself to be unique in this way, and we have always been a religious family so we definitely believe that each one of us kids was a blessing to our parents. The sacrifice that they make everyday when the go to work to support four kids who they never owed anything, never had to call themselves our parents, but they took us in and called us their own and they are angels walking, for the wonderful impact they have had on the lives of me and my brothers. • 9. What Is A Family? Essay For most of us, the family is considered as a well–known and comfortable institution. The perfect model of the 'ideal' family is still mostly considered to be consisted from two different sexes' parents, and one or more children. Until quite recently, the sociology of the family was mostly functionalist and just in the last few decades has been challenged from various directions. There are many different definitions about what the family is. Different theoretical positions influence these variations. For example, the functionalist sociologist George Peter Murdock defines the family as "a social group characterized by common residence, economic co–operation and reproduction. It includes adults of both sexes, at least two of whom maintain...show more content... An early functionalist George Murdock argued that the family plays the main role in the society by performing three main functions– пЃ¶Stabilisation of the sexual behaviour and reproduction. пЃ¶Providing the basic economic requirements. пЃ¶Serving the function of socialisation of the next generation. G. Murdock claimed that without family serving these three functions the society would disappear. He considered these functions as universal, although he agreed that they could develop. Talcott Parsons argues this statement, by saying, that there are two broad functions of the family– primary socialisation and stabilisation of the adult personality 'throughout the emotional security, including sexual expression, provided by marriage' (O'Donnell, 1997). In these days, when society is changing, the functionalistic statements lose their strength. For example, the sex outside the marriage, in these days of easily available contraception, is no more the taboo. Margaret Mead argues Murdock's and Parsons imply that nuclear family is biologically necessary and natural. She stated that the nuclear family is based on culture, not biology. Marxist views on the family Marxists have very critical view of the family and society. They adopt a structural perspective, but put it in the class nature of the society. The starting point for the most Marxist analyses of gender and the family is Friedrich Engels' (1820–1895) The Origin of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

My parents are still married, my grandparents, and even some great grandparents, survived to see me grow up, and I have a good relationship with my immediate and extended family. My family and my experiences with them have formed me into the person that I am today. Despite having an average, middle class, white picket fence life, my family is not as ordinary as they seem on the surface. Despite these roadblocks, my self worth and determination was unshaken. Luckily for me, the lessons that I had learned in my family life provided a solid foundation for my character. During my first years at my Christian school, I readily imposed my opinions on gender equality into every debate or argument I stumbled upon. Ok, maybe it was more like the arguments and debates that I started. I showered my unlucky opponent with Bible verses supporting women, examples of successful females, and my own personal experiences with unflagging women. After a while, I began really enjoying and reveling in these often occurring, heated discussions. I even began seeking them out. This game of bait and catch that I played, however, left me with few friends and even fewer minds changed. It was in my freshman English class that I had a revelation during one of our class discussions. The teacher had asked us to pick the gender that we viewed as the better one and walk to the wall designated to that specific sex, and I was furious. I stood up, when it was time to pick our side and watched every single one of my classmates saunter over to the wall assigned to the male gender. As each kid took their spot against the wall, I sat down in my desk located in the middle of the room. This caused my teacher some concern. As my confused teacher approached my desk, I grew more and more incandescent. She proceeded to ask Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. My Family Essay Family is one of the most important relationships that an individual will encounter in his/her lifetime. I have often times heard the saying "blood is thicker than water" and I do agree that this quote is truthful. Many families share the same blood and the connection is very deep. Even families that do not share the same blood have deep connections that make them family. Family can be immediate or distant and can originate in many shapes or forms. In this paper I will observe my personal, immediate family and share some characteristic as well as describe in what way it relates to the family systems that we have encountered in this class until this point. • 12. My Family Essay Family, when you hear that word what do you think? Most people will think of their siblings or parents, but family is more than that. A family is the people that help you grow up, learn, live, and much more. Your family is filled with people that we love the most and they create memories that last a lifetime. Your family consists of a lot of people. Whether you are an only child or you have ten siblings your family, a family has a great number of people. First let's start with the people at the very top of the family tree, your grandparents. Your grandparents are your mom or dad's, parents. You would probably call them grandma and grandpa. After grandparents, we come to your mom and dad, your parents. They are the people that gave you life and help you become a great person. Next in the family tree is you and your brothers and or sisters. Then as generations go on there will be more added to your family tree. • 13. Definition Of Family Essay You never know what something really means until you experience it. Like the definition of family. Family doesn't mean you have to be joined by blood, you don't have to be related biologically. Family for me is unity. Having money & luxuries doesn't compare to family. You can't buy a family. Family will unconditionally be there for you, even when you do a wrong. Someone once said, "Family: Where life begins and love never ends." I agree with this quote because I can relate to it. Family is a beautiful thing and people just have to open up to experience it. My definition of family is having people there for no matter. Feeling loved and joined with them, regardless if biologically or not. On the other hand, the dictionary is a tool we use when we don't know what something is or means. The definition of "Family" in the dictionary is "a basic unit consisting of parents and their children, considered as a group, whether dwelling together or not: the traditional family."
