A role model is someone who has a significant impact in your life. When people are asked who's their role model, of the answers would say a
celebrity or an athlete, but for me the answer is my mother. There are so many great qualities about her that motivates me to be a better person. For

My mom wouldn't rely much on my dad or pay someone to do the some of the laboring part of remodeling. She always wanted things done a certain
way so it was better for her to do it herself. She never went to school for interior designing or decorating, it was mostly self–taught or watching
episodes from different HGTV home improvement shows. If there was something she didn't know how to do or wanted a cheaper resolution, she
would spend hours on the computer looking at different DIY websites to brainstorm new ideas. One of her main sayings she tells me is "never rely on
nobody if you can do it yourself" and "common sense will take you a long way." Similarly, hard work and dedication always paid off in the end for my
mother. Everything she own is because of all her years of hard work. Her full paid house and two vehicles with no debt were possible because of
how responsible she is with her money. Bills were paid first every pay period. After those are paid and the other necessities were covered, then she
considers buying the items she's interested in. For my mom, it was always "business before pleasure". The idea of paying late fees was unnecessary

want to be on the same team as him, I didn't help our relationship much but added to the arguments. We argued about the little things like, telling the
other to get out of the bathroom or out of their room, or fighting over who gets to watch what show on TV, to eating all the ice cream then blaming the

time, King would not survive his fateful trip to Memphis. Additionally, local newspapers criticized King when he announced he was coming back to
Memphis for a second round. Among other comments, the local press criticized him for staying at a white–owned Holiday Inn, instead of the Motel
Lorraine, which was black–owned. Hoping to avoid further antagonistic press in wake of the disastrous March 28 demonstration, King's camp
switched his accommodations to a room at the Motel Lorraine, where he died on April 4. From a security standpoint, changing King's lodging to this

The Teacher As Role Models
As an educator you get faced with the task everyday whether or not it is your responsibility to teach moral values and to develop good character
traits in students in your classroom. What people do not realize is that teaching is much more than just the information in the textbooks and for that
reason, I do believe that it is the educator's job to teach moral values and to develop good character traits in students. As an educator, you have to be
able to teach the whole student, you have to be willing to teach them life lessons, and not just educate the student based on the standards of the
textbooks. It was expected that when children went to public schools that they were to be taught moral values. As stated by Angela Lumpkin in her
article entitled, "Teachers as Role Models, Teaching Character and Moral Virtues," found on the CSU Chino database, she states, "When public schools
were established in the United States in the 18th and 19th centuries, one of their stated missions was to teach moral virtues (Lumpkin 45)." I found this
very interesting because since public school came about, no one had a problem, in fact they were expecting, teachers to teach moral virtues in the
classroom. Nowadays, as an educator, you have to be very careful about what you teach in the classroom because you don't want to offend anyone, but
that does not mean you should only be teaching children the standards out of the textbook. Continuing on with Lumpkin's article she says, "Teachers

Kevin Lamount Coley, my role model. The only male figure in my life that I want to be like. I use to mimic all your actions from your laugh to
your serious face, your truly an outstanding man. Although my father and I don 't see eye to eye all the time and he can also get on my nerves
sometimes. My Dad 's dedication and perseverance are absolutely fantastic; he always has, and a never give up attitude. I couldn 't fathom any
other male figure being my father also I don 't want anyone other than the dad I have right now. There are endless reasons on why my Dad means so
much to me, he does so much and looks for no reward. He goes above and beyond the call of duty every day, he is a leader in our community as well.
My Dad is an entrepreneur, so he owns his own business. I've seen days where my dad is sick, but he still gets up around five o'clock in the morning
and goes to work. He doesn't take days off; I remember asking him "Dad, how do you do it? How do you push yourself to get up and work so hard
every day?" And my Dad responded by saying this, "I do it because I enjoy seeing you guys happy." At first, I didn't understand what he was
implying, but as I started to ponder on his words, it became apparent to me what he had meant. When my father gets paid, he doesn't spend a dime
on himself. He always makes sure my siblings and I are taken care of first before anything. Then he takes care of my mom's needs; my dad is selfless.
