Cybersecurity Personal Statement
My interest in cybersecurity came about as an inevitable infection from my black tech role–models (they were cyber–geeks). Thus, during my
sophomore year of college, I participated in the National Cyber Analyst Challenge as a way of learning the basics of cybersecurity. Much to the
surprise of my team, this challenge was not an introductory competition, but a highly technical one. My teammates and I were soon overwhelmed by
eighty gigabytes of forensics evidence data in unfamiliar file formats. We dug through the files, pieced together a story, and applied newly learned
security concepts. Despite our lack of experience, I led my team to qualify as one the few undergraduate programs for the final round. The following
year, we won the top prize among the 20 participating schools within the first round. I am pursuing the Oxford MSc in Computer Science in order to
gain the foundation in computer security and machine learning necessary to analyze complex cybersecurity problems from a technical standpoint.
Based on my undergraduate experience in information systems, with a background in network defense and intrusion detection, I want to continue to
expand my knowledge base and re–imagine the use of data to help government agencies and corporations...show more content...
Those attackers were eerie because they were so human. When I dissected their attacks, I was entranced by their normal workday patterns, their subtle
mistakes, and their real–time adjustments to our mitigations. They had the drive, critical thinking ability, and patience to inevitably evade our defenses
if given enough time. Thus, when I am building tools and crafting threat detections, I always challenge myself to look past the code and consider the
impact these tools will have on people (both teammates and

Perseverance Personal Statement
My desire to accomplish many things in life, despite setbacks, propels me through many obstacles. For me, perseverance is the catalyst to success.
My experiences within the healthcare system and academic setting have trained me to be persistent and dedicated; it has primed me to become a
fighter, and advocate in the pharmacy profession, for those who might not have the resolve. When I was a toddler, I refused to walk. My parents
scheduled me to visit doctor after doctor, exhausting all of our resources, only receiving new prescriptions to try without any diagnoses. My
perseverance, and the nagging pain I felt encouraged me to keep fighting. A decade later, the pain developed into painful cramps. After this, I decided

I enjoyed learning the physiological interactions of the human body in response to chemicals and how bodily systems control daily functioning like
muscle contraction, homeostasis, and vascular circulation. This past semester I even studied abroad at the University of Edinburgh and took Medical
Biology: learning an abundance of new information. After traveling back to the United States, I shadowed a pharmacist, which had a profound effect
on me. Just from observing, I discovered pharmacists have an extensive responsibility to the community that requires a large amount of trust and that
pharmacists have to work with other medical professionals to find the best solution for the patient. This is one of the many reasons why I want to
become a pharmacist. I know expansion of my current knowledge will be necessary to become successful in the profession, but as a pharmacist I will

Personal Statement: #3 In life everyone has walked through easy and hard challenges to become the man or woman that they're today. Everyone has
also figured out what talents that they're good at. They even practice on it to get better and make a living out of it. Most people would lose focus on
their goal and fail to achieve it. For my entire life, I have been playing baseball and trying to make a living out of it so, I could make a change for my
reservation. I've also face many challenges, decisions, and tasks to get where I want to be but, I still have a long way to go. Since I was younger many
friends and family members believed that I could go somewhere with the talent I have for baseball. They want me to take advantage of it and be a
good example to what the younger generation would look up to. My reservation deals with a lot of drugs and alcohol in the area. Already younger

game. This past Sunday( September 11, 2016) I went to a Baseball Factory camp so, they could make a video of me for college. It's also a tryout for
the teams they have for upcoming tournaments and they invited me for two of the tournaments, and I was very proud of myself for that. They told
my hitting was very good, they said I was pretty quick, but they told me I should work on my side movements for defense. For now on I gotta work

Special Education Personal Statement
Personal Statement "A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops." – Henry B. Adams. For as long as I can remember, I have
always wanted to play a big part in children's education, which is why I have decided to enroll for an education course. I believe that educators have a
lifelong impact on their students and on the development of resilience. Thus, I aspire to inculcate my love for learning into the next generation, by
influencing and inspiring children all through their formal education.
I have distinctly applied for Special Needs Education because special education has always been what's near and dear to me in the field of education.
Being a special education teacher would be an inevitably rewarding job, in which I get to watch my students grow, as I celebrate their small
breakthroughs and victories with them. These small breakthroughs and victories will improve over time and turn into giant leaps, which will leave a
lasting impact and ultimately change the child's life. Beyond just educating children with special needs, I aspire to educate the public about children
with special needs and special education. By doing so, I hope to remove any uncertainty and fear the public has on this group of children. Not only do

Clinical Psychology Personal Statement
Personal Statement:
It is no accident that I have chosen Roosevelt University's, MA Clinical Psychology (Counseling Practice) program. I am particularly interested in
Clinical Psychology because it is open to all kinds of people. A person's mind and its foundation are solely based on solid principals that are both
instilled and what is gathered through our experiences. Psychology attempts to explain the mental processes and how it affects a person's present and
future depositions. It is a gateway to multicultural sophistication and competence as well as considering every aspect of a person without any
preconception. The MA Clinical Psychology degree will not only provide stability and purpose but increase opportunities to work with diverse groups
of people. It is not a question of cultural consideration, which comes from a position of power and privilege. It is the matter of appreciating everyone

I was able to observe the doctor, nursing staff, as well as patients during my visit. It has been almost a decade, and I still have my legal pad of all the
notes I had taken during my rounds with the doctor. However, one of the things that have stuck with me since was the over use of medication. My
yearning at that point geared me away from psychiatry as I believe there is a better way to treat people suffering from psychological problems and
disorders. In addition, psychology isn't the only passion of mine. I also studied music. The one thing science cannot duplicate is to understand musical
behavior and musical experiences through the use of Music Psychology. One would agree that music is extremely therapeutic and can affect ones
intelligence, psychological, physiological and social abilities. Not to mention the power of emotion I receive as a musician. Another reason why I wish

A little lost paperwork never hurt anyone, right? Unlikely as it may seem and unbeknownst to my sixth grade self, human error set me upon the path
that developed into a defining aspect of my adolescence: band. After seven years in the program, I am certain that this is where my personal
development into a responsible, competent, and disciplined individual began. Reflecting on all that goes into the art, from time to blood, sweat and
tears, it is clear that the range of skills gained from participation is both broad and pertinent to life beyond band. First and foremost, multitasking resides
at the very core of anything musical. To begin playing an instrument, one must keep track of embouchure, fingerings, and...show more content...
Simultaneously learned is the ability to take constructive criticism gracefully. As rehearsals consist of staff pointing out mistakes and providing
solutions, it follows suit that having a good attitude about criticism is more productive than causing a scene. Curiously, these discouragements tend to
grow as one progresses in the hierarchy of band. Unfortunately, few band members reach a position to experience perhaps the most valuable teaching of
band: leadership. Section leaders hold many responsibilities, from emotionally bonding the section to maintaining rehearsal etiquette. Beyond these
management and social skills, emotional strength is procured from handling stress and even guilt after inadequate performances. In many workplaces,
leadership is a highly desirable skill, demonstrating great social competence and ability to work with others. Along with leadership comes teaching,
something all section leaders must do to some extent. Due to the circumstances of my section, however, teaching is more commonplace. Lessons that
require teaching each season are often hefty; ones that in attempting to teach, emphasize a teacher's perspective and demonstrate that a student's benefit
is proportional to the effort they invest. Though difficult, requiring both patience and empathy, teaching is extremely rewarding in terms of seeing

I did not predict finding myself in a diabetic and emergency clinic for part of my summer in India. However, my curiosity to explore the inner
workings of a medical center spurred me to accept an observation position for three weeks. The first day I went, there was no electricity and the
waiting room was packed with patients, as the doctor was running late. I sat in the suffocating room for an hour until a nurse ushered me to a quick
tour of the clinic. Walking along the dark corridor, we discovered a surgical room illuminated by a flickering light. Many technologies usually found in

My desire to pursue knowledge in neuroscience began rather spontaneously by reading a book about Phineas Gage, a man who was pierced
through the head by an iron rod in a freak construction accident. While he miraculously survived, the drastic change in his personality was a
mystery I was curious to learn more about. I took to watching YouTube videos filled with theories of how personalities and habits can be affected by
just minor changes in synapses. My interest in neuroscience and psychology gradually developed to analyzing disorders and diseases relating to the
brain. Volunteering gave me an additional perspective on the social side of disorders such as autism, thereby ushering me away from the words in a
textbook and into real life. Playing with autistic children and being able to interact with them motivated me to spread awareness of mental disorders to
prevent those with mental disorders from being judged or attacked for being different. At Johns Hopkins, I seek to work with the community to educate
people on mental disorders to prevent misunderstandings and judgment. As I believe that this knowledge can be instilled in children from a young age,
the practicums in the Neuroscience Department at Hopkins serves to my interests. I hope to participate and help younger people gain a basic

Coming from a family of engineers and contractors, I recognized the doctor's instruments because they were similar to tools I had grown up watching
my father use. I began to think of dentistry as performing small scale construction in a small hole. Performing such intricate procedures while

Personal Leadership Statement Essay
Is a leader as defined in the Merriam–Webster's Dictionary, merely one who leads– synonymous with a boss? Or something more? I believe that a
leader is much more than that and can be defined in any number of ways. In attempting to define a leader personally, I will use both myself and
others as examples. For many years, I have been told by teachers, family, and friends that I am a good leader. Until fairly recently, I had never truly
thought about what it means to be a good leader and just took it as a compliment. Leadership is an intangible concept which cannot be properly
outlined in a dictionary, but one which must be formed and explained only through one's own philosophies and experiences. Perhaps the most important

A well–researched knowledge–base is a necessity. Organization is also key to being a leader. A leader must plan thoroughly to properly direct the
group. Even though careful planning is crucial, a leader must remain flexible when problems arise. Remaining humble is also important. Once a
leader raises her/himself above the group, s/he will lose respect and will be seen as a ruler – and not a leader. A leader must see eye–to–eye with the
group to retain an effective role. To manage the needs of the group, a leader must be trusting enough to allow others to help. If a leader makes all
the decisions without the group's input, or does not allow the group an active role, the group will no longer agree with the leader and will not feel
valued. The leader's effectiveness and respect form the group will the drop. The group must also trust the leader to make wise decisions. Despite the
fact that these qualities are mostly seen when leading a cause, they can be extended to other roles of leadership. Generally, a leader will either be
given a leadership role, or will create one. For instance, I frequently volunteer at a nature center in my community. Because I possess the leadership
qualities mentioned earlier, I have become someone who people approach with questions and for direction. In effect, I have been assigned a leadership

Cybersecurity Personal Statement

  • 1. Cybersecurity Personal Statement My interest in cybersecurity came about as an inevitable infection from my black tech role–models (they were cyber–geeks). Thus, during my sophomore year of college, I participated in the National Cyber Analyst Challenge as a way of learning the basics of cybersecurity. Much to the surprise of my team, this challenge was not an introductory competition, but a highly technical one. My teammates and I were soon overwhelmed by eighty gigabytes of forensics evidence data in unfamiliar file formats. We dug through the files, pieced together a story, and applied newly learned security concepts. Despite our lack of experience, I led my team to qualify as one the few undergraduate programs for the final round. The following year, we won the top prize among the 20 participating schools within the first round. I am pursuing the Oxford MSc in Computer Science in order to gain the foundation in computer security and machine learning necessary to analyze complex cybersecurity problems from a technical standpoint. Based on my undergraduate experience in information systems, with a background in network defense and intrusion detection, I want to continue to expand my knowledge base and re–imagine the use of data to help government agencies and corporations...show more content... Those attackers were eerie because they were so human. When I dissected their attacks, I was entranced by their normal workday patterns, their subtle mistakes, and their real–time adjustments to our mitigations. They had the drive, critical thinking ability, and patience to inevitably evade our defenses if given enough time. Thus, when I am building tools and crafting threat detections, I always challenge myself to look past the code and consider the impact these tools will have on people (both teammates and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Perseverance Personal Statement My desire to accomplish many things in life, despite setbacks, propels me through many obstacles. For me, perseverance is the catalyst to success. My experiences within the healthcare system and academic setting have trained me to be persistent and dedicated; it has primed me to become a fighter, and advocate in the pharmacy profession, for those who might not have the resolve. When I was a toddler, I refused to walk. My parents scheduled me to visit doctor after doctor, exhausting all of our resources, only receiving new prescriptions to try without any diagnoses. My perseverance, and the nagging pain I felt encouraged me to keep fighting. A decade later, the pain developed into painful cramps. After this, I decided to take matters in my...show more content... I enjoyed learning the physiological interactions of the human body in response to chemicals and how bodily systems control daily functioning like muscle contraction, homeostasis, and vascular circulation. This past semester I even studied abroad at the University of Edinburgh and took Medical Biology: learning an abundance of new information. After traveling back to the United States, I shadowed a pharmacist, which had a profound effect on me. Just from observing, I discovered pharmacists have an extensive responsibility to the community that requires a large amount of trust and that pharmacists have to work with other medical professionals to find the best solution for the patient. This is one of the many reasons why I want to become a pharmacist. I know expansion of my current knowledge will be necessary to become successful in the profession, but as a pharmacist I will constantly expanding my knowledge, developing trust, and giving back to my community. This is something I look forward Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Everyone has also figured out what talents that they're good at. They even practice on it to get better and make a living out of it. Most people would lose focus on their goal and fail to achieve it. For my entire life, I have been playing baseball and trying to make a living out of it so, I could make a change for my reservation. I've also face many challenges, decisions, and tasks to get where I want to be but, I still have a long way to go. Since I was younger many friends and family members believed that I could go somewhere with the talent I have for baseball. They want me to take advantage of it and be a good example to what the younger generation would look up to. My reservation deals with a lot of drugs and alcohol in the area. Already younger kids look up to me of what I'm gonna do next and I couldn't fail them....show more content... I like to challenge myself to out do the other infielder or pitcher who's better than me. This past Sunday( September 11, 2016) I went to a Baseball Factory camp so, they could make a video of me for college. It's also a tryout for the teams they have for upcoming tournaments and they invited me for two of the tournaments, and I was very proud of myself for that. • 4. Special Education Personal Statement Personal Statement "A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops." – Henry B. Adams. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to play a big part in children's education, which is why I have decided to enroll for an education course. I believe that educators have a lifelong impact on their students and on the development of resilience. Thus, I aspire to inculcate my love for learning into the next generation, by influencing and inspiring children all through their formal education. I have distinctly applied for Special Needs Education because special education has always been what's near and dear to me in the field of education. Being a special education teacher would be an inevitably rewarding job, in which I get to watch my students grow, as I celebrate their small breakthroughs and victories with them. These small breakthroughs and victories will improve over time and turn into giant leaps, which will leave a lasting impact and ultimately change the child's life. Beyond just educating children with special needs, I aspire to educate the public about children with special needs and special education. By doing so, I hope to remove any uncertainty and fear the public has on this group of children. Not only do I want to impart knowledge on these special children, I also want to advocate for them, which is something that goes...show more content... I am particularly interested in Clinical Psychology because it is open to all kinds of people. A person's mind and its foundation are solely based on solid principals that are both instilled and what is gathered through our experiences. Psychology attempts to explain the mental processes and how it affects a person's present and future depositions. It is a gateway to multicultural sophistication and competence as well as considering every aspect of a person without any preconception. The MA Clinical Psychology degree will not only provide stability and purpose but increase opportunities to work with diverse groups of people. It has been almost a decade, and I still have my legal pad of all the notes I had taken during my rounds with the doctor. My yearning at that point geared me away from psychiatry as I believe there is a better way to treat people suffering from psychological problems and disorders. In addition, psychology isn't the only passion of mine. I also studied music. The one thing science cannot duplicate is to understand musical behavior and musical experiences through the use of Music Psychology. One would agree that music is extremely therapeutic and can affect ones intelligence, psychological, physiological and social abilities. Not to mention the power of emotion I receive as a musician. • 7. Group Work Personal Statement Examples RHIT Personal Statement A little lost paperwork never hurt anyone, right? Unlikely as it may seem and unbeknownst to my sixth grade self, human error set me upon the path that developed into a defining aspect of my adolescence: band. After seven years in the program, I am certain that this is where my personal development into a responsible, competent, and disciplined individual began. Reflecting on all that goes into the art, from time to blood, sweat and tears, it is clear that the range of skills gained from participation is both broad and pertinent to life beyond band. First and foremost, multitasking resides at the very core of anything musical. To begin playing an instrument, one must keep track of embouchure, fingerings, and...show more content... Simultaneously learned is the ability to take constructive criticism gracefully. As rehearsals consist of staff pointing out mistakes and providing solutions, it follows suit that having a good attitude about criticism is more productive than causing a scene. Curiously, these discouragements tend to grow as one progresses in the hierarchy of band. Unfortunately, few band members reach a position to experience perhaps the most valuable teaching of band: leadership. Section leaders hold many responsibilities, from emotionally bonding the section to maintaining rehearsal etiquette. Beyond these management and social skills, emotional strength is procured from handling stress and even guilt after inadequate performances. In many workplaces, leadership is a highly desirable skill, demonstrating great social competence and ability to work with others. Along with leadership comes teaching, something all section leaders must do to some extent. Due to the circumstances of my section, however, teaching is more commonplace. Lessons that require teaching each season are often hefty; ones that in attempting to teach, emphasize a teacher's perspective and demonstrate that a student's benefit is proportional to the effort they invest. Though difficult, requiring both patience and empathy, teaching is extremely rewarding in terms of seeing student Get more content on HelpWriting.net

However, my curiosity to explore the inner workings of a medical center spurred me to accept an observation position for three weeks. The first day I went, there was no electricity and the waiting room was packed with patients, as the doctor was running late. I sat in the suffocating room for an hour until a nurse ushered me to a quick tour of the clinic. Walking along the dark corridor, we discovered a surgical room illuminated by a flickering light. Many technologies usually found in the United States were unavailable, and the existing tools were lacking. Knowing that it was due to the inability of these clinics to afford technology and the...show more content... My desire to pursue knowledge in neuroscience began rather spontaneously by reading a book about Phineas Gage, a man who was pierced through the head by an iron rod in a freak construction accident. While he miraculously survived, the drastic change in his personality was a mystery I was curious to learn more about. I took to watching YouTube videos filled with theories of how personalities and habits can be affected by just minor changes in synapses. My interest in neuroscience and psychology gradually developed to analyzing disorders and diseases relating to the brain. Volunteering gave me an additional perspective on the social side of disorders such as autism, thereby ushering me away from the words in a textbook and into real life. Playing with autistic children and being able to interact with them motivated me to spread awareness of mental disorders to prevent those with mental disorders from being judged or attacked for being different. At Johns Hopkins, I seek to work with the community to educate people on mental disorders to prevent misunderstandings and judgment. As I believe that this knowledge can be instilled in children from a young age, the practicums in the Neuroscience Department at Hopkins serves to my interests. I hope to participate and help younger people gain a basic understanding of Get more content on HelpWriting.net

By the time I reached high school, I was intrigued by every aspect of dentistry. The procedures quickly turned from one of torment into something more familiar. Coming from a family of engineers and contractors, I recognized the doctor's instruments because they were similar to tools I had grown up watching my father use. • 12. Personal Leadership Statement Essay Is a leader as defined in the Merriam–Webster's Dictionary, merely one who leads– synonymous with a boss? Or something more? I believe that a leader is much more than that and can be defined in any number of ways. In attempting to define a leader personally, I will use both myself and others as examples. For many years, I have been told by teachers, family, and friends that I am a good leader. Until fairly recently, I had never truly thought about what it means to be a good leader and just took it as a compliment. Leadership is an intangible concept which cannot be properly outlined in a dictionary, but one which must be formed and explained only through one's own philosophies and experiences. Perhaps the most important ...show more content... A well–researched knowledge–base is a necessity. Organization is also key to being a leader. A leader must plan thoroughly to properly direct the group. Even though careful planning is crucial, a leader must remain flexible when problems arise. Remaining humble is also important. Once a leader raises her/himself above the group, s/he will lose respect and will be seen as a ruler – and not a leader. A leader must see eye–to–eye with the group to retain an effective role. To manage the needs of the group, a leader must be trusting enough to allow others to help. If a leader makes all the decisions without the group's input, or does not allow the group an active role, the group will no longer agree with the leader and will not feel valued. The leader's effectiveness and respect form the group will the drop. The group must also trust the leader to make wise decisions. Despite the fact that these qualities are mostly seen when leading a cause, they can be extended to other roles of leadership. Generally, a leader will either be given a leadership role, or will create one. For instance, I frequently volunteer at a nature center in my community. However, I have come to realize that there exists an inherent access to justice in marginalized groups in the Canadian society, especially the very true owners of the land we sought refuge on, the aboriginal community.
