Universal Fiber-optic Installation Instructions

When replacing an electronic control system with a new control box, occasionally the new control box
will not operate the original 4 wire fiber-optic light. Horizon has found a simple way to reuse the original
fiber-optic light with some minor modifications.

Parts Needed
    1. 60-620-1373 Relay, 12VAC, DPDT
    2. 59-319-1700 TBS301 Latching Air Switch
    3. 59-319-1300 Air Button White
    4. 59-555-1000 Air Tubing 1/8”
    5. 60-555-1766 Female Disconnect, Blue 16-14AWG, .250" Tab
    6. Small piece of Double Sided Tape
    7. 2 each-10” pieces of #12 wire
    8. 1 each- 3” to 10” (depending on mounting location) piece of wire #12

Installation
    1. Using the two sided tape, attach the relay somewhere inside the control box.
    2. Utilizing the new 12v light wires, attach the two wires to the coil connection on the new relay.
            a. When the light is turned on via the topside the relay will close.
    3. Place a spade terminal on each end of the two 10” #12 wires (item 7).
            a. Connect both ends of each wire to incoming voltage L1 (a doubler or piggy back may be
                required)
            b. Connect the other end of the wires to the Common (C) connections on the relay.
            c. It is also possible to run one wire from incoming voltage and jump at the relay across the
                common connections.
    4. Mount the Air Switch in a convenient location
            a. Locate Black wire from the fiber-optic light and place it on the Normally Open (NO)
                connection on the air switch.
            b. Place a spade connection on each end of the single short wire (item 8).
            c. Place one end of the wire on the Common (C) connection of the air switch.
    5. Place the other end of the wire on the Normally Open (NO) connection of the relay, either side.
    6. Locate the Red wire from the fiber-optic light and place it on the Normally Open (NO) connection
of the relay (beside wire just placed in previous step).
    7. Connect the White wire from the fiber-optic light to Neutral or Line 2 depending on the voltage of
the fiber-optic light (refer to the labeling on the fiber-optic light).

8. Connect the Green wire to a Ground.
   9. Install Air Button in a convenient location and connect tubing to Air Switch.

Operational Instruction

   • When the light on the topside is activated, the relay is closed allowing power to pass to the fiber-
       optic light.
   • Utilizing the air button to activate the air switch will allow control of the color wheel.
o Press and allow to rotate till preferred color is reached and another press will hold it on that
               color.
   • If you should find the air switch controls the light and not the color wheel simply switch the two
Normally Open (NO) connections on the relay.
