TO INSTALL:
1. WARNING:To avoid Fire, Shock, or Death; TURN OFF POWER at circuit
breaker or fuse. Test that POWER IS OFF-BEFOBE WIRINGI Use this device
o
only with copper or copper clad wire. Wrth aluminum wire use only devices marked
CO/ALA. If you do not understand any part of these instructions, consult a
qualified electrician.
2. To Quickwirent: Remove insulation using strip gage on back of device as a
guide (approx. 1/2 inch). Insert straight #12 or #14 AWG solid copper wires into
round Quickwirent holes.
3. To Side Wire: Remove insulation about 3/4 inch. Loop wires clockwise 3/4
turn mound terminal screws. Tighten screws firmly. Side wire terminals accept up
to #10 AWG copper or copper clad wire.
4. Connect these wires per WIRING DIAGRAM as follows: BLACK (hot) wire
from power source, lamp center contact, or common terminal 01old switch to the
BLACK (Common) screw. Remaining NON-NEUTRAL wires to the two BRASS
screws. For grounding versions: connect GREEN or BARE (ground) wire to the
GREEN Hex screw.TIghten all screws firmly.
S. Mount device with lo~ mounting screws. Replace wallplate and tighten
covar screws.
6. Restore power at circuit breaker or fuse. Installation is complete.
