Summary of career:
I have been involved in the drilling industry since 2001 and in this time I have achieved the position
of Senior Toolpusher with KCADeutag.
Experience:
2014-Present
Working as Rig Superintendent Perfrormance Coach on the Heather/Thistle platform, Duties incorporated
the enhancement of the drilling team, driving best practices and streamlining cross crew learnings.
2012-2014
BP/TAQA Harding platform as Senior Toolpusher with Odfjell drilling UK where we completed
challenging wells under MPD control.
2008-2012
Worked on the Thistle platform for KCADeutag as a Assistant Rig Superintendent (Covering for Rig
Superintendent during times of operational requirements).
2006 - 2008
I joined Larchford Limtted in the position of Driller in order to enhance my experience in the Drilling
industry. The drilling rig was a new concept Automated Drilling rig as far as land operations were
concerned. As driller I operated the cyber based controls for the automated pipe handler system, the iron
roughneck, Hydraulic ram driven rig tongs and the casing running tool.
2001 - 2006
I was introduced to the oil and gas industry as a Roustabout at Wytch farm. I gained good experience and
throughout the 5 years I achieved Assistant Drillers level. Whilst drilling with the most up to date down hole
tools we drilled horizontal wells from surface and side track (Side tracks with whipstock and open hole time
drilling) with both rotary steerable and mud motors to depths of 10,000 meters with a T.V.D. of only 1600
meters. Completions consisted of conventional, E.S.P and duel E.S.P’s. Dual production & water injection.
Wytch Farm was also presented with the Queens award for its enviromental & industrial achievements. At
Wytch farm I worked firstly on a telescopic double with Kelly configuration, free swinging block and then a
box section substructured tripple with IDS4A top drive where we drilled and completed ERD wells.
1991 - 2001
Watchman onboard various fishing vessels for Whitby fish selling company and Locker trawlers.
Training:
Certification can be supplied at request.
2. Technical abilities:
• Day to day running of drilling and work over operations.
• Risk assesment, permitation and procedures relevant to drilling and work over operations to I.A.D.C.
standards.
• Training of personnel in required tasks in oredr to assist with career enhancement.
• Multi lateral side track wells. Running various completions including ESP’s.
• Setting of Whipstocks and milling windows.
• Carrying out fishing operations.
• Drilling and completing wells with coil tubing.
• Drilling wells with oil and water based muds.
• Drilling under MPD conditions.
• Casing floatation techniques.
• Cyber experience from the BP Bruce and Drillmec land rig.
• Very good raport with the Drilling team, Client, platform personnel and onshore supporting staff.
• Head up offshore operations during drilling operations and during preparation for Drilling
programme after 5 yearly recert.
Progression plan
I would rellish the oportunity to gain a position on a modern drilling facility, continue with the overall
enhancement of my career in the oil and gas industry. Hopefully some time in the future I will continue to
gain promotion and enhance my learnings within the drilling industry.
