Dr. Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat, Superintendent of Peoria Public Schools, gave the annual State of the Schools address. She recognized guests in attendance including school and district leaders, state representatives, and community partners. Dr. Desmoulin-Kherat discussed key initiatives to address challenges such as poverty and mental health. These include collective impact through a new Alignment Peoria partnership between the school district and community organizations, expanding early childhood programs, and increasing high school rigor and college credit opportunities for students. She called on community members to support these efforts to improve outcomes for students.

Richwoods H.S. Class of 2014
“My first year at DePaul I was
elected into the Student Government
Association representing the class of
2018. I was also on the Dean’s list every
quarter maintaining a competitive GPA. I

I sincerely believe that I reached my
success because the IB program
emphasized the importance of diversity,
giving back, time management, and
thinking outside of the box at an early
age.”
