do individually
 Treat every child like my/our own
 Ensure good relations with our children; communicate at their level
 Watch over and guide all children while playing within the estate
 Drive as slowly as possible within the estate
 Keenly observe children at play in the estate
 Advice and watch the children and the games they play, and correct where
necessary
 Insist on ‘keeping discipline’ amongst my/our children and also those in the
estate on the spot
 Engage children in constructive activities
 Promote use of the magic words ‘please’, ’thank you’… among children
 Monitor media exposure
 In cases of child to child conflict, visit the other parent and together engage the
children to encourage resolution and understanding
 Strive to know who ‘MY’ children’s friends are and make an attempt to
introduce myself to their parents

 Train the caregivers or domestic workers on child protection issues
 Train the child (specific to age) on sexual education
 Conduct more parenting seminars on child rearing and parent support; monthly
or quarterly
 Train the children on how to keep safe, identify what to do if abused and how to
protect themselves and others.

 Fathers to meet with other fathers to deliberate on issues affecting children in
the estate
 Create safe play zones for children within Kenya-Re estate
 Form a voluntary parenting support group
 Pass information online
 Get parents to open up and discuss issues as they come up and not point fingers
