Ask anyone and they will agree this presidential election is by far the most interesting one we have had in quite a while. In this 2016 presidential debate
it has come down to mainly the republican nominee, Donald Trump, and the democratic nominee, Hilary Clinton. Both candidates have discussed their
opinions and views over important topics such as America's economy, healthcare, theLGBT community, and the ever controversial topic, abortion.
Trump is famously known for his family owned international business conglomerate, strong conservative views, and to the younger crowd, his
looks. Trump has put in quite some time into thinking about our economy. In his book, "Time to Get Tough," he explains how by demanding our
middle eastern oil suppliers to drop their prices, or by drilling on american soil instead, would save us money and create more jobs for americans.
He believes we are not using our natural gas resources to its true potential, and while we are drilling our own land and providing jobs, we will have
more time to find even better ways of using our natural energy. This way our economy just keeps getting better and better. Another plan he has to help
the american people is to repeal Obamacare. How Trump sees it, Obamacare is a 'job–killing' plan that is ruining our economy....show more content...
Like Trump, Clinton wants to create more jobs in America as well. However, she plans to start strengthening the grass roots of workers by providing
them with a higher income. Her plan proposes that with higher wages, workers will put more money into the economy by being able to buy more
frivolously. This puts money back into making things to help create more access for the workers too. In her book, "Stronger Together," Hilary explains
that the money coming into the economy can be used to help create more transportation methods to help people have access to more places with

How do you feel when you have to wait for something you really, really want? What if it was something you couldn't live without? Each day, an
average of 79 people receive organ transplants. However, an average of 18 people die each day waiting for transplants that can 't take place because
of the shortage of donated organs. Any one of those people might be someone you know. Today I'd like to talk to you about the need fororgan donors in
our area, second, how you can become an organ donor after you die, and finally, how your family and organ donor recipients benefit from your
donation. People all over the world are in need of an organ transplant even people right here in CNY, Buffalo, NYC, you get the picture. The problem is

They will be involved in the donation arrangements when you die. If they do not know your wishes of becoming a donor, your wishes may never
be carried out. The last thing you have to do is Mark your driver's license so that your license indicates your intent to donate. Fill out, sign and
carry a uniform donor card with you. This donor card says what organs you wish to have donated and also has places for your family members to
sign as witnesses after you have discussed your decision with them. You can see that it isn't difficult to be an organ donor. Now let's look at what
may happen if you choose to donate your organs and what may happen if you choose not to. If you choose to donate, there will be benefits to both
your family and the recipient's. If you do donate your organs, your family and the people who receive your organs might benefit in a similar way
like this family. A seventeen year old died of head injuries in a car accident. His mom decided to donate his organs. His heart went to a prison
chaplain, his kidneys went to a mother of 5 children and a Vietnam vet. The Vietnam vet is "energetic" and finally is getting his college degree. The
teenager gave life to others and his family feels a sense of satisfaction and comfort that other lives have been touched by his. The problem arises when
you are thinking about becoming a donor but never do anything about it. Then, no one knows your wishes and your organs will not be donated. The
consequences of this

Brick masonry is a great job. There are many reasons why brick masonry is a good job, I have my own. I want to be a brick mason because I love to
build things, Brick masons make good money, and brick laying can build a lot of character.
First of all, I want to be a brick mason because I love to build things and put things together. Growing up I loved playing with blocks making towers,
castles, and different types of objects such as chairs and beds. As I got older I learned how to lay actual brick with my aunt. When I was about 13
years old I helped my aunt lay a brick patio in the back yard of her house. I am now at Whitney M Young Job Corps Center being trained to become a
nationwide brick layer and I absolutely love it.

Persuasive Essay On Online Classes
Most people think highly of online classes; get to work from home, get to work on a flexible schedule, and anyone can do it. Though no one has
heard the cons of taking one. I personally took three semesters of online classes in high school and had a horrible experience. Because of loose
scheduling, poor communication, and the focus needed, online classes are not suitable for procrastinators. To give a better understanding, I will
summarize my experience with the class. Me, being a procrastinator, thought to myself: I'll just work on the weekends and if I don't finish the class by
the end of the school year, I can finish within the first few weeks of summer. This was a god awful plan. Unsurprisingly, close to nothing was
accomplished on the weekends. Friends would ask me to hang out every weekend, and I did every time. Why would I want to work on my class on the
weekend when I could be having fun? I would later regret this decision. On the days I stayed home and could have worked on the class, I completed
nothing. On these days, I would tell myself: I'll just complete what I didn't do this weekend next weekend. This rarely happened. Thus, the cycle of
getting nothing accomplished started. I disregarded my class for most of the first semester of junior year. With only nine assignments out of eighty
finished after the first semester of the school year, I was immensely behind. I told myself to get my act together during second semester and grind out

Julius Caesar
Topic: Write an expository essay on the role of persuasion in the play. Julius Caesar is a tragic drama written by William Shakespeare in 1599. This
tragedy takes place in ancient Rome around 44 B.C when Rome was a great empire. Julius Caesar was a very important figure at this time as he was a
very successful general who helped spread the Roman Empire and after his defeat of his political rival Pompey, he took on the role of becoming a
dictator of Rome. But many citizens "feared that Caesar's power would lead to the enslavement of Roman citizens by one of their own. Therefore, a
group of conspirators came together and assassinated Caesar. The assassination, however, failed to put an end to the power struggles dividing the...show

Was this ambition? Yet Brutus says he was ambitious, And sure he is an honorable man." (III.ii.82
–96)" ). In this statement, Antony is trying to
persuade the audience to think that Caesar is a good man as he refused the crown and through this he is trying to emphasize on the goodness of
Caesar. So Antony, a friend of Caesar, when speaking a funeral oration over Caesar's body, he spectacularly persuaded the audience to withdraw their
support from Brutus and condemn him and the conspirators as a traitor. Antony engages masterful rhetoric to stir the crowd to revolt against the
conspirators."3 Another evident example of persuasion occurs when Cassius flatters Brutus. In this scene of the tragedy, Cassius is knowledgeable
enough to know that Rome would be harmed if Caesar became the leader and that he (Cassius) would need Brutus' help in the movement to kill
Caesar with the conspirators. Cassius therefore uses a lot of flatter and persuasion whenever he talks to Brutus. Cassius states "Caesar doth bear me
hard, but he loves Brutus. If I were Brutus now and he were Cassius, he should not humor me. (I.II, 308–315)." Through this statement Cassius is
trying to persuade Brutus and convince him of the love that Caesar had for him (Brutus) and not for Cassius. He later states " I will this night, in
several hands, in at his windows throw, As if they came from several citizens, writings all tending to the great opinion that Rome hold of his name,

Around the world our populace goes up and another goes down, both in a rapid manner. If you may not know what population it is, here's a hint,
for your birthday you usually get balloons powered by this, but maybe in the future twenty five years from now you can't have these balloons due to
scarcity of this object. Nevertheless, moving away from balloons, and to a more serious manner, to put it bluntly, our natural resources are rapidly
running low, and are getting scarce in a rapid manner. As, humans we may adapt to these changes by moving away from obsolete forms of energy like
coal however, our species have not found alternative ways to adapt to every certain shortcoming when it comes to specified nonrenewable resources.

As you may know there are over seven billion people in the world today, and each day that number goes up around 350,000 each day around the
world but, why may I be presenting this fact you may ask? Well from research under an accredited website based in Copenhagen Denmark, called
The World Counts that specializes in the depletion of these natural resources, " A newborn infant will need: 360 kilos of lead, 340 kilos of zinc,
680 kilos of copper, 1,630 kilos of aluminum, 14,800 kilos of iron, and 560,000 kilos of stone, sand, gravel and cement."(The World Counts Org.) So,
as you could see the amount of resources the world must provide for one baby in its lifetime is quite staggering, and if you multiply that by the
amount of babies born in one single day alone, now the issue of scarcity of resources gets to be a little worrying. So, to effectively combat resource
scarcity, we must simultaneously combat overpopulation in the world, and to do this, we could provide governmental environmental awareness
agencies with funding, and additionally provide third world countries, (our leaders of this overpopulation) with contraceptives, and additionally teach
them how to use

When faced with hardships in life, a person is often given two choices, to either give up or persevere. Many people who are faced with these
choices choose to give up, these people never got to live life to their full potential. If they would have persevered then they would have eventually
overcame their challenge and been able to move on from it. If a person does not persevere they will never be able to move on and will always be ok
with where they are at and never grow. This is why a person should persevere, but what exactly is a person who perseveres? In the dictionary,
perseverance is defined as a, steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or
discouragement."...show more content...
By persevering they will continue to become better instead of staying where they are at, scared to continue the new skill or play. In nonfiction
literature, authors talk about the theme perseverance. In the article, Warriors Don't Cry, all of the kids are demonstrating perseverance everyday they
go to school. They know that many people are against them and they will have to go through both emotional and physical hurt but they push through
and go anyways so eventually things will get better. In the article, I am Malala, she shows perseverance by continuing to go to school even though
the threats she has received. She is afraid but this does not stop her, she still speaks out and goes to school so eventually she can make a change. In
the book, The Year we Disappeared, everyone in theirfamily is showing perseverance. Their dad gets shot, and this affects everyone 's life. They are
now afraid everyday and under protection, not able to live a normal life. But this did not stop them to live a happy life, they moved somewhere where
they could go to school and work feeling safe. Authors use nonfiction literature to persuade their reader to persevere when they are faced with
challenges in life, rather than give up. The article, Warriors Don't Cry, teaches a person to persevere and face their

Persuasive Essay
"Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will
be choosing topics," announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the
prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give
examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell
the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of
anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always
thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly
dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such desperate times,
my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that a waffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm.
Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked everyone the age old
question: "Do you like

Reflection Of A Persuasive Reflection
Reflection of a Persuasive Essay by Vickie Hale In my revision, I decided to incorporate actionable feedback from the feedback I received. The
feedback I received was that my essay needed more clarification, I choose to use this feedback to help make my argument more developed, I wanted to
create a better thought out essay and I worked on the clarification of my argument as well as renewed my research. With that, I did some critical
thinking to help work through the weak areas of my essay which was the structure and syntax. Therefore, I incorporated these suggestions because
they helped me to improve my essay and help me to create a more persuasive essay. Without these changes alongside the small revisions, I made, I do
not believe my essay would have been as well–written so they were much needed. My biggest challenges came from not being able to pin down my
argument, it took me a while to come find a side to an argument that wasn't vague. Because, I usually write in a creative way, which does not
necessarily have to be persuasive, I usually write fictional stories and people getting the understanding from the experiences of the characters is the
outcome, but with persuasive writing, you are trying to get your readers to not only agree with your side of the argument but to see what and why
you are arguing your side in the first place. This became difficult for me because I kept feeling like my argument was not central and a little vague.
I worked on trying to help my readers understand what and why I was arguing my side of the argument. I had to think about who was reading my
essay and this helped. What I could have done differently is choose a more central argument, I believe it would have reduced my challenges. This
question is hard for me to answer because I did not receive but one peer feedback, the feedback I incorporated concerning my exploration of the
issue was more clarification because that was one of the problems my peer review pointed out. I worked on my clarification because it is one of the
main elements, that is needed when you are writing a persuasive essay or any essay for that matter. Clarification gives the essay structure so your
readers can have a full understanding of your

First–person PERSUASION ESSAY: THE ODYSSEY
It was in the first moment, that one millisecond, when I had first seen him that I knew he was going to be mine. I knew without a doubt, that
Odysseus, Laertes 's son and child of Zeus, would forever be in my possession, no, it 's more like, I would in his. It would only take just a certain
amount of persuasion on my part.
I could tell that he was suspicious of me at first. But, I did my best to show that he did not need to fear me in that way, although he was right to do so
in the first place.

for that to become reality you must listen to me, head my words, and stay with me on this island away from Poseidon, so you can live."
The man before was shaken, but I had not won yet.
"Oh, beautiful and helpful, Calypso, I thank you for telling and warning me of this misery I must face, but I would not be a child of Zeus if I ran from
my troubles and strayed from the path that the Fates have bestowed on to me."
So, then, I played on my master plot.
"Forgive me, Odysseus, but I have been disloyal to you. Do you recall that one night, months ago, when you retired to my bed?"
This night of course never happened, I had fooled him into drinking just a bit too much and he passed out and the next morning awoke to find himself
in my room, and in my arms, but nothing ever happened.
"Why of course," he replied warily.
"Well, it is in disdain that I inform you that I am pregnant with a child," I paused for effect, "Your child."
The expression on my Odysseus 's face was of an appalling and shameful nature. I did not bother to tell him that although I was indeed

Persuasive Essay On Sexual Orientation
Love is a tricky topic. Many have been persecuted because of who they have loved. A common debate in society is that sexual orientation is a choice.
Nurture will say that the environment around a person plays a role, and nature will say that sexual orientation has to do with science. The nurture
argument is a common viewpoint because many can never imagine liking the same–sex, but then why is the nature viewpoint scientifically backed up?
Before jumping into each argument, sexual orientation needs to be defined. "Sexual orientation is about who you're attracted to and want to have
relationships with," according to Planned Parenthood (Parenthood). Sexual orientation is not the same as gender identity. Sexual orientation has to do
with who a person is attracted to, and gender identity is about what gender a person identifies with. There are many different labels that people put on
people who have a different sexual orientation than what is considered the common, which is a heterosexual relationship. The most common two are
gays for men who like men, and lesbians who are women that like women. There are also people who identify as bisexual meaning they like both
male and female. Another group that has a different sexual orientation is people who are attracted to more than just the average male and female, they
can be attracted to basically anyone, which includes people who are transgender, genderqueer, or intersex. They are named pansexual or queer. Lastly,
there are people

The Art of Persuasion Essay examples
The Art of Persuasion Used since the times of the ancient Greeks, the art of persuasion has become an integral part of our everyday language. From
its inception, it was used to elect a government to rule a state, used to boost a person's spirit, and used to win a crowd's favour. There are many
different types of persuasive techniques, such as the general ethos, pathos and logos, repetition, list of three...show more content...
However, using too much of logos can be a drag as too much facts and statistics makes a speech mundane. This is why ethos is equally used in a
persuasive speech. Ethos uses credibility to persuade the audience. The speaker credits the audience by complimenting them in various ways. In J.F.K's
Berlin speech, his starting sentence clearly shows Ethos, "I am proud to come to this city as the guest of your distinguished Mayor, who has
symbolized thoroughout the world the fighting spirit of West Berlin. And I am proud to visit the Federal Republic with your distinguished
Chancellor…" In the starting speech, J.F.K uses personal pronouns to include the audiences in his speech. Kennedy also repeats the word
"distinguished", which is an evident compliment to the country. J.F.K also addresses positions of authority like Berlin's Mayor and Chancellor to make
it seem respectable. Ethos is very useful when it comes to persuasion, as one tends to take pride in praises which others say to them. Likewise, pathos is
another technique used to persuade the audience emotionally. Although emotional appeals are not popular in some formal arguments, it still remains
the most powerful persuasive factor, as ethos and logos sometimes do

Example Of Persuasive Essay Topics

  • 1. Example Of Persuasive Essay Topics Ask anyone and they will agree this presidential election is by far the most interesting one we have had in quite a while. In this 2016 presidential debate it has come down to mainly the republican nominee, Donald Trump, and the democratic nominee, Hilary Clinton. Both candidates have discussed their opinions and views over important topics such as America's economy, healthcare, theLGBT community, and the ever controversial topic, abortion. Trump is famously known for his family owned international business conglomerate, strong conservative views, and to the younger crowd, his looks. Trump has put in quite some time into thinking about our economy. In his book, "Time to Get Tough," he explains how by demanding our middle eastern oil suppliers to drop their prices, or by drilling on american soil instead, would save us money and create more jobs for americans. He believes we are not using our natural gas resources to its true potential, and while we are drilling our own land and providing jobs, we will have more time to find even better ways of using our natural energy. This way our economy just keeps getting better and better. Another plan he has to help the american people is to repeal Obamacare. How Trump sees it, Obamacare is a 'job–killing' plan that is ruining our economy....show more content... Like Trump, Clinton wants to create more jobs in America as well. However, she plans to start strengthening the grass roots of workers by providing them with a higher income. Her plan proposes that with higher wages, workers will put more money into the economy by being able to buy more frivolously. This puts money back into making things to help create more access for the workers too. In her book, "Stronger Together," Hilary explains that the money coming into the economy can be used to help create more transportation methods to help people have access to more places with Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay *Example* How do you feel when you have to wait for something you really, really want? What if it was something you couldn't live without? Each day, an average of 79 people receive organ transplants. However, an average of 18 people die each day waiting for transplants that can 't take place because of the shortage of donated organs. Any one of those people might be someone you know. Today I'd like to talk to you about the need fororgan donors in our area, second, how you can become an organ donor after you die, and finally, how your family and organ donor recipients benefit from your donation. People all over the world are in need of an organ transplant even people right here in CNY, Buffalo, NYC, you get the picture. The problem is that there...show more content... They will be involved in the donation arrangements when you die. If they do not know your wishes of becoming a donor, your wishes may never be carried out. The last thing you have to do is Mark your driver's license so that your license indicates your intent to donate. Fill out, sign and carry a uniform donor card with you. This donor card says what organs you wish to have donated and also has places for your family members to sign as witnesses after you have discussed your decision with them. You can see that it isn't difficult to be an organ donor. Now let's look at what may happen if you choose to donate your organs and what may happen if you choose not to. If you choose to donate, there will be benefits to both your family and the recipient's. If you do donate your organs, your family and the people who receive your organs might benefit in a similar way like this family. A seventeen year old died of head injuries in a car accident. His mom decided to donate his organs. His heart went to a prison chaplain, his kidneys went to a mother of 5 children and a Vietnam vet. The Vietnam vet is "energetic" and finally is getting his college degree. The teenager gave life to others and his family feels a sense of satisfaction and comfort that other lives have been touched by his. The problem arises when you are thinking about becoming a donor but never do anything about it. Then, no one knows your wishes and your organs will not be donated. The consequences of this Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I want to be a brick mason because I love to build things, Brick masons make good money, and brick laying can build a lot of character. First of all, I want to be a brick mason because I love to build things and put things together. Growing up I loved playing with blocks making towers, castles, and different types of objects such as chairs and beds. As I got older I learned how to lay actual brick with my aunt. When I was about 13 years old I helped my aunt lay a brick patio in the back yard of her house. I am now at Whitney M Young Job Corps Center being trained to become a nationwide brick layer and I absolutely love it. Also, brick masons Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Persuasive Essay On Online Classes Most people think highly of online classes; get to work from home, get to work on a flexible schedule, and anyone can do it. Though no one has heard the cons of taking one. I personally took three semesters of online classes in high school and had a horrible experience. Because of loose scheduling, poor communication, and the focus needed, online classes are not suitable for procrastinators. To give a better understanding, I will summarize my experience with the class. Me, being a procrastinator, thought to myself: I'll just work on the weekends and if I don't finish the class by the end of the school year, I can finish within the first few weeks of summer. This was a god awful plan. Unsurprisingly, close to nothing was accomplished on the weekends. Friends would ask me to hang out every weekend, and I did every time. Why would I want to work on my class on the weekend when I could be having fun? I would later regret this decision. On the days I stayed home and could have worked on the class, I completed nothing. On these days, I would tell myself: I'll just complete what I didn't do this weekend next weekend. This rarely happened. Thus, the cycle of getting nothing accomplished started. I disregarded my class for most of the first semester of junior year. With only nine assignments out of eighty finished after the first semester of the school year, I was immensely behind. I told myself to get my act together during second semester and grind out these two semesters Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Julius Caesar Topic: Write an expository essay on the role of persuasion in the play. Julius Caesar is a tragic drama written by William Shakespeare in 1599. This tragedy takes place in ancient Rome around 44 B.C when Rome was a great empire. Julius Caesar was a very important figure at this time as he was a very successful general who helped spread the Roman Empire and after his defeat of his political rival Pompey, he took on the role of becoming a dictator of Rome. But many citizens "feared that Caesar's power would lead to the enslavement of Roman citizens by one of their own. Therefore, a group of conspirators came together and assassinated Caesar. The assassination, however, failed to put an end to the power struggles dividing the...show more content... Was this ambition? Yet Brutus says he was ambitious, And sure he is an honorable man." (III.ii.82 –96)" ). In this statement, Antony is trying to persuade the audience to think that Caesar is a good man as he refused the crown and through this he is trying to emphasize on the goodness of Caesar. So Antony, a friend of Caesar, when speaking a funeral oration over Caesar's body, he spectacularly persuaded the audience to withdraw their support from Brutus and condemn him and the conspirators as a traitor. Antony engages masterful rhetoric to stir the crowd to revolt against the conspirators."3 Another evident example of persuasion occurs when Cassius flatters Brutus. In this scene of the tragedy, Cassius is knowledgeable enough to know that Rome would be harmed if Caesar became the leader and that he (Cassius) would need Brutus' help in the movement to kill Caesar with the conspirators. Cassius therefore uses a lot of flatter and persuasion whenever he talks to Brutus. Cassius states "Caesar doth bear me hard, but he loves Brutus. If I were Brutus now and he were Cassius, he should not humor me. (I.II, 308–315)." Through this statement Cassius is trying to persuade Brutus and convince him of the love that Caesar had for him (Brutus) and not for Cassius. He later states " I will this night, in several hands, in at his windows throw, As if they came from several citizens, writings all tending to the great opinion that Rome hold of his name, wherein obscurely Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Essay Examples Around the world our populace goes up and another goes down, both in a rapid manner. If you may not know what population it is, here's a hint, for your birthday you usually get balloons powered by this, but maybe in the future twenty five years from now you can't have these balloons due to scarcity of this object. Nevertheless, moving away from balloons, and to a more serious manner, to put it bluntly, our natural resources are rapidly running low, and are getting scarce in a rapid manner. As, humans we may adapt to these changes by moving away from obsolete forms of energy like coal however, our species have not found alternative ways to adapt to every certain shortcoming when it comes to specified nonrenewable resources. Needless to say,...show more content... As you may know there are over seven billion people in the world today, and each day that number goes up around 350,000 each day around the world but, why may I be presenting this fact you may ask? Well from research under an accredited website based in Copenhagen Denmark, called The World Counts that specializes in the depletion of these natural resources, " A newborn infant will need: 360 kilos of lead, 340 kilos of zinc, 680 kilos of copper, 1,630 kilos of aluminum, 14,800 kilos of iron, and 560,000 kilos of stone, sand, gravel and cement."(The World Counts Org.) So, as you could see the amount of resources the world must provide for one baby in its lifetime is quite staggering, and if you multiply that by the amount of babies born in one single day alone, now the issue of scarcity of resources gets to be a little worrying. So, to effectively combat resource scarcity, we must simultaneously combat overpopulation in the world, and to do this, we could provide governmental environmental awareness agencies with funding, and additionally provide third world countries, (our leaders of this overpopulation) with contraceptives, and additionally teach them how to use Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 9. Persuasive Essay Examples When faced with hardships in life, a person is often given two choices, to either give up or persevere. Many people who are faced with these choices choose to give up, these people never got to live life to their full potential. If they would have persevered then they would have eventually overcame their challenge and been able to move on from it. If a person does not persevere they will never be able to move on and will always be ok with where they are at and never grow. This is why a person should persevere, but what exactly is a person who perseveres? In the dictionary, perseverance is defined as a, steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement."...show more content... In the article, I am Malala, she shows perseverance by continuing to go to school even though the threats she has received. In the book, The Year we Disappeared, everyone in theirfamily is showing perseverance. Their dad gets shot, and this affects everyone 's life. They are now afraid everyday and under protection, not able to live a normal life. But this did not stop them to live a happy life, they moved somewhere where they could go to school and work feeling safe. • 11. Persuasive Essay "Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such desperate times, my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that a waffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked everyone the age old question: "Do you like Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Reflection Of A Persuasive Reflection Reflection of a Persuasive Essay by Vickie Hale In my revision, I decided to incorporate actionable feedback from the feedback I received. The feedback I received was that my essay needed more clarification, I choose to use this feedback to help make my argument more developed, I wanted to create a better thought out essay and I worked on the clarification of my argument as well as renewed my research. With that, I did some critical thinking to help work through the weak areas of my essay which was the structure and syntax. Therefore, I incorporated these suggestions because they helped me to improve my essay and help me to create a more persuasive essay. Without these changes alongside the small revisions, I made, I do not believe my essay would have been as well–written so they were much needed. My biggest challenges came from not being able to pin down my argument, it took me a while to come find a side to an argument that wasn't vague. Because, I usually write in a creative way, which does not necessarily have to be persuasive, I usually write fictional stories and people getting the understanding from the experiences of the characters is the outcome, but with persuasive writing, you are trying to get your readers to not only agree with your side of the argument but to see what and why you are arguing your side in the first place. This became difficult for me because I kept feeling like my argument was not central and a little vague. I worked on trying to help my readers understand what and why I was arguing my side of the argument. I had to think about who was reading my essay and this helped. What I could have done differently is choose a more central argument, I believe it would have reduced my challenges. This question is hard for me to answer because I did not receive but one peer feedback, the feedback I incorporated concerning my exploration of the issue was more clarification because that was one of the problems my peer review pointed out. I worked on my clarification because it is one of the main elements, that is needed when you are writing a persuasive essay or any essay for that matter. Clarification gives the essay structure so your readers can have a full understanding of your Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Examples Of Persuasive Essay On The Odyssey First–person PERSUASION ESSAY: THE ODYSSEY It was in the first moment, that one millisecond, when I had first seen him that I knew he was going to be mine. I knew without a doubt, that Odysseus, Laertes 's son and child of Zeus, would forever be in my possession, no, it 's more like, I would in his. It would only take just a certain amount of persuasion on my part. I could tell that he was suspicious of me at first. But, I did my best to show that he did not need to fear me in that way, although he was right to do so in the first place. "Now let Earth be my witness, with the broad Sky above, and the falling waters of the Styx ... that I harbor no secret plans against you..." [Calypso 3 to Odysseus. Homer, Odyssey 5.184] The...show more content... "He foresaw destruction in your path, suffering and pain and anguish. I do not wish this upon you, son of Laertes. I only want for you to be safe and for that to become reality you must listen to me, head my words, and stay with me on this island away from Poseidon, so you can live." The man before was shaken, but I had not won yet. "Oh, beautiful and helpful, Calypso, I thank you for telling and warning me of this misery I must face, but I would not be a child of Zeus if I ran from my troubles and strayed from the path that the Fates have bestowed on to me." So, then, I played on my master plot. "Forgive me, Odysseus, but I have been disloyal to you. Do you recall that one night, months ago, when you retired to my bed?" This night of course never happened, I had fooled him into drinking just a bit too much and he passed out and the next morning awoke to find himself in my room, and in my arms, but nothing ever happened. "Why of course," he replied warily. "Well, it is in disdain that I inform you that I am pregnant with a child," I paused for effect, "Your child." The expression on my Odysseus 's face was of an appalling and shameful nature. I did not bother to tell him that although I was indeed Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The ones that make you want to pull out your wallet and donate your entire next paycheck to finding a cure for cancer. Our society can be judged by the way we show compassion for our fellow kin in their vulnerable hours. We all hope to live to a ripe old age ending our life with our loved ones around and prepared to meet again with the ones already on the other side. Unfortunately not everyone will live to this desired goal. Some may fall short by debilitating illness unable to be cured by modern medicine. • 16. Persuasive Essay On Sexual Orientation Love is a tricky topic. Many have been persecuted because of who they have loved. A common debate in society is that sexual orientation is a choice. Nurture will say that the environment around a person plays a role, and nature will say that sexual orientation has to do with science. The nurture argument is a common viewpoint because many can never imagine liking the same–sex, but then why is the nature viewpoint scientifically backed up? Before jumping into each argument, sexual orientation needs to be defined. "Sexual orientation is about who you're attracted to and want to have relationships with," according to Planned Parenthood (Parenthood). Sexual orientation is not the same as gender identity. Sexual orientation has to do with who a person is attracted to, and gender identity is about what gender a person identifies with. There are many different labels that people put on people who have a different sexual orientation than what is considered the common, which is a heterosexual relationship. The most common two are gays for men who like men, and lesbians who are women that like women. There are also people who identify as bisexual meaning they like both male and female. Another group that has a different sexual orientation is people who are attracted to more than just the average male and female, they can be attracted to basically anyone, which includes people who are transgender, genderqueer, or intersex. They are named pansexual or queer. Lastly, there are people Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Example Of Persuasive Essay As a woman, have you ever felt like having a vajayjay is an automatic handicap? Of course you have! Everyone knows that if you have a genital orifice instead of a genital probe, you are naturally assumed to be responsible for: child rearing, household cleaning, meal preparation, making sure bills are paid on time, adequately maintaining the family's food supply, scheduling and chauffeuring for appointments, heading up the family's PR with birthday cards, thank you letters, Christmas gifts.... The list goes on and on. So why does having an inny instead of an outy come with so much responsibility? Don't get me wrong; I understand the tripod gender is typically laden with their own set of responsibilities, but come on. How many times a week do they mow the lawn or repair the family car? I can assure you it is not as often the birth canals carriers have to vacuum the floors or fix dinners....show more content...
