Why I Am A Good Candidate
I believe I am a good candidate for Phi Alpha Epsilon because of my dedication and my ability to take on the tough task. The first reason I believe I
am good candidate is my dedication. Over the past three years at North Carolina A &T State University I have pushed myself daily to excel. The
process of getting to this point was grueling but it did not stop me. From the all–nighters to the endless my lab plus assignments, I never stopped
pushing to be my very best. This is just one of the ways I have shown my dedication at A&T. Another way is in the American Society of Heating,
Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers. I show dedication in this student organization by president and making sure this organization doesn't go
under. Another

Writing An Exemplary Essay
1. Which parts of your essay do you feel most closely meet the expectations for exemplary writing as described in the essay rubric and why?
I feel that the two strongest parts of my essay are my thesis and certain parts of my closing paragraphs. My focus, or thesis, most closely meet the
expectations because it offers significant insight that is precise and creatively stated. It also addresses the content requirements and is fully supported
throughout the essay. I like the wording I used for the thesis, and to me it's inspirational. Secondly, I think that certain parts of my closing are strong,
particularly the lessons in perseverance that I learned from Seth. My grammar and mechanics have fulfilled the definition of exemplary in the essay
rubric as well.
2. Which parts of your essay could use improvement, and why?
While there are many parts of my essay that could use improvement, I am only going to focus on a couple. In paragraph four it feels as though I am
rambling a bit about the details of the Domino Project story. I do think that how the project played out is important, I just...show more content...
Specifically, when moving from paragraph five to paragraph six, besides using the word "another" twice in a row, it seems forced, like I am
jumping into the next idea. How can I clearly transition without sounding automated? Also, the last sentence in paragraph five sounds like I just
threw it in there. Should I take it out completely or rewrite it? I don't like how the last two sentences of my essay flow, although I really like the
wording I used. How can I mix or add to these ideas to create more flow for the ending? Another thing I can improve upon is my style or voice.
Sometimes I can sound a little sterile. How can I show more easygoing flow while retaining the professional feel of the essay? The audience I chose is
future employers so I want to sound intelligent but not

Growing up Under Certain Family Rules
As children we all have certain rules that we must follow. Each family has different variations of rules; some may be stricter while others may be
more lenient. No matter what type of household you grew up in, there was most likely some point in time when you got in trouble and told you
parent or parents that you were going to raise your children completely differently. In my case I told them that I wasn't going to give that rule to my
children. Every time I got in trouble and felt as though my parents were wrong and being unreasonable I would make a mental note in my mind that
I wouldn't give my children that rule. However now that I am older I understand why my parents gave me certain rules. I can reflect on all of the
times I got in trouble and admit that they were indeed my mistakes. As I've matured I can also start to figure out how I want to live my life and what I
want my own family morals to be. I believe my parents have done a great job of raising me, they aren't helicopter parents yet they still know where I
am and what I'm doing. If I want to go somewhere they have to know where it is and who I'm going with but most of the time they let me go. They
give each of us kids our own personal space and we can do things on our own. This was the same as it was when I was younger. I remember we were at
the beach once and I was digging a long stream for the water to run up in and reach a dug out pool. My mom was watching the whole time and when

what makes an excellent film Essay
What makes an excellent film?
It took me a little while to come up with an answer to, "What makes an excellent film?" There really is no answer, actually. I believe that an excellent
film is within the eyes and emotions of the audience. After researching and discovering what actually won Oscars and Golden Globe awards, it came
down to what the people thought, and the popularity of a film. It is extremely hard to predict what will win these awards before the movie is even
released to the public.
Before really thinking about the subject, some obvious traits of what I would consider "an excellent film" would be superior acting, beautiful scenery,
etc., such as many present categories in the Academy or Golden Globe Awards. Of course I could...show more content...
The only other time that this had happened was in the 1950's, for Ben Hur. These definitely have something to do with what makes an excellent film,
but I also believe that the personal connection and emotions that someone has with a film is just as important.
I feel that the emotional connection that people make with a film is, in most cases, an extremely important quality that directors can emphasize on
in /their work. Whether it is a realistic movie that is based off of a true story, or a children's Disney movie, anyone can experience a sense of a
character's point of view. Depending on the type of film (horror, suspense, comedy, drama, etc.), this emotional connection can vary among different
people. In a classic Disney film such as Bambi, children can relate to Bambi. They can easily understand the type of experiences that he goes through
such as having friends (Thumper, a joyous rabbit, and Flower, a loving skunk), playing on an icy pond, and even going through an emotional event of
losing a loved one (the death of Bambi's mother).
In general, people rarely want to watch films that they know they won't enjoy. This is why there are so many types of films, and different people have
different views on what makes an "excellent film". The media can have an

How to Be A Good Student Essay
How to Be A Good Student
To become a success in life, we all need to learn to become a good student in every aspect of life. Becoming a good student takes much work and
self–discipline. There are many ways that a student can stand out from the rest of the class. These good students are distinguished by their attitude,
intellectual skills, consciousness, and achievement.
Attitude is primarily a genuine desire to learn and the will to do hard academic work to achieve understanding. It is also shown by how well you
apply yourself even to subjects in which you have little interest and how much you can achieve even when a teacher's style is not what you are used to.
Also attitude can change the way you percieveperceive things...show more content...
No one else can help you to attain a good attitude, you must decide and make it a goal to have a good attitude in your student life. (CS)
Intellectual skills is (S–V Agr) another important aspect of becoming a good student. This skill includes the ability to read and understand, intelligent
use of resources, mathematical and logical skills, efficient study habits, and the ability to communicate clearly and fluently. Intellectual skills include
time management, exam strategies, study strategies, and goal setting.
Consciousness, or awareness, is another helpful aspect of becoming a good student. The good student must be aware of their (agr) surroundings and
know what is going on in the world around them. We must strive to relate what is happening around us to what we are learning. This should be
important to us because we should care about what is going on politically, academically, socially, and spiritually. Being aware and paying attention is a
good trait to continually learn and apply.
Achievement is demonstrated by successful application of understanding. This aspect includes using correct and confident knowledge, effective
communication, and continuanceing of education through out your life. Achievement gives you a sense of accomplishment and meaning. To become a
good student, this must be a goal that you wish to accomplish.
Becoming a good student can be time consuming but well worth

Excellent Sheep Analysis
In the text, Excellent Sheep, the author William Deresiewicz states that college is a time and space set up to help you to think. I agree with
Deresiewicz's statement that college should help us in "developing the habit of skepticism and the capacity to put it into practice." However, this is
not always easy because college is a period in which students face multiple challenges where they form their own individual sense of self. Students
often find "the soul torn apart in a painful condition, as long as it prefers the eternal because of its truth, but does not discard the temporal because of
familiarity." (Augustine, Confessions). Students tend to remain in positions where they are comfortable and do not want to participate in challenging
tasks; they are inscribed with ways of thinking and feeling based on prior teachings at home and in school. This leads them to converse with people
that have a similar thinking style and approach to life due to familiarity. Deresiewicz talks about Edmundson and how one of his teachers used the
same method as Socrates, the teacher of Plato, and echoed his opinions back to him, which forced him to deconstruct and reconstruct his own words.
This created an unfamiliar and uncomfortable environment where he was taught "not what to think, but how." Deresiewicz encourages the same
approach to be used for college students to provide the basics of how to think. Although this seems like a simplistic approach, one thing Deresiewicz
fails to point

Essay Excellent Students Excell
Students who excel in class and are successful throughout life have something in common which is much more important than accreditations and high
test scores. Through the use of analytical, practical and creative thinking skills they are able to face life's greatest challenges. Every educational
institution has good and bad students, so in order to boost your chance at success you need to surround yourself with the good students. Noticing
patterns can help you see the differences between students, for example; the students who show up late everyday, those who never take notes, those
who always procrastinate and those who never contribute anything when they are in groups. You can almost set your watch for the intentionally late
students...show more content...
In life most groups whether at work or school are assigned you can't pick and choose. The good students are the initiators of the group trying to make
things happen rather than sitting back and waiting while others to do the work for them like bad students often do. Sometimes I sit in a group and I
have ideas, but I am too afraid to tell the group so I don't say anything which is what bad students do. Good students have self–confidence which
allows them to achieve goals instead of wasting time feeling sorry for themselves. These people are also willing to make mistakes to test out their
ideas. Many occupations require cooperation among workers which many good students have before they enter the job market. The hardest thing for
me on any big task is getting started, and when I realize that I have time before I have to turn in the assignment or deliver the presentation it just
seems easier to put it off until the day before. When this happens I just break it up into smaller tasks so I can get started on it, after I get started the
rest is easy. Waiting until the last minute is hard because it doesn't allow you to think clearly the onlythought in your mind is getting it done to avoid
getting a zero or getting fired. When faced with this a bad student puts down their first idea instead of giving themselves time to think of better
alternatives. Attitude determines everything about you, in school it determines whether you will be a straight A student or

written communication Essay
INTRODUCTION.
"Man is an animal that lives in language as a fish lives in water and so written communication is just one of the ways that man can survive through"
(English scholar Annie Dillard). Writing is a skill to give information. Like all skills, it is not inborn and so it needs to be learnt. To give information
you need good communication skills including the ability to write simply, clearly and concisely (Harris & Cunningham, 1996).
QUESTION A.
Delineate the purpose of written communication, giving reasons for your answers.
Different people have different reasons as to why they write. Some people write for their own private reasons or to attain their own individual goals.
An example of this 'private writing' is exploratory...show more content...
The fans of a musician like Madonna are quite interested to know what she does and what goes on in her life. Therefore gossip columnists quench the
fans by searching for information on Madonna daily and reporting it.
"All writers write to persuade or convince, regardless of what they are writing" (Harris & Cunningham, 1996, pg 216). From a poet, to a chef,
all writers actually try to convince a reader in one way or another. The poet will try to convince people how a woman is like a rose and a chef on the
other hand will try to convince that meat tastes better when boiled then fried. A student will try to convince an instructor that he has understood the
course material by writing excellent essays such as this one. Through persuasive writing, people get things done by convincing a reader of something.
Another reason is to write to solve problems and present solutions. Here, one visualizes a problem and then connects what one knows to what he does
not know, by organizing his thoughts. The precursor leads to the quote: "A problem well put is half solved" (John Dewey).
Writing to solve a problem starts with definition of a problem, then evaluating alternative solutions, then arguing for proposed solutions. By writing to
solve a problem, one is fully engaged in the thought process and any good ideas that present solutions are immediately recorded. One can also draw
small sketches which connect with one another to form

I Am An Best Candidate For This Program
I believe that I am an excellent candidate for this program. For me, school is a top priority. I always strive to be my best, and my G.P.A. proves
my point. I put 100% effort into everything I do. I am not nervous to talk to adults, and address any questions I have. To be at this high of a level of
difficulty demands hard work and devotion, and I have those qualities. There is so much in this program that will help me succeed in life. First of all,
this program will help me graduate college a year earlier than the rest of my class. I am already young for my grade, so if I am involved in this program
I will graduate college at the age of 20 years old. I will be two years younger than most my graduating class. This will help progress me in life, and
give me a jump start. Also, the financial help is huge to me. In my family, the burden of paying for college is placed on the children. I have a job,
and a special bank account, and every paycheck that I get goes into that account to make sure I have money for college. But, if I got into this
program, the stress of paying for college for two years will be taken off my shoulders. This program goes along with my plan. After high school, I am
going to go to Muskegon Community College and receive my associate 's degree, and then transfer to a state school where I will achieve my masters
degree. My ultimate career/educational goal is to go to college and earn my bachelor 's degree. I have not decided what I want to be, or major in, but

people expected of leaders. The most important aspects they believe the leaders must have been including honest, forward–looking, inspiring and

exciting possibilities and then they enlist others in a common vision by appealing to shared aspirations of organizational members. Third is challenge

International Students Essay example
Differences between American Students and International Students Most young people believe that studying in a different country is a privilege
because they are able to experience other cultures, and learn from them. However, in the United States it is not as good as they thought because
International students have much more pressure being in this country, and sometimes they cannot handle it very well. Therefore, in theUnited States the
life of an international student is very unfavorable if people compare it to the life of an American student. International students have to learn a new
language to study, they cannot work while studying, and their tuition is much more expensive. When people moves to the United Stated to study they

They know their structure and have a very superior vocabulary, so they can compose excellent essays. In addition, since American students speak
English very well, they do not have any problem participating in class. They have confidence in themselves, so they will not be afraid of saying
something wrong. Consequently, because American students do not have to learn any language to study their mayor, it is much easier for them to
achieve excellent grades. Most university students feel the necessity of working since they would like to have their own money in order to be
independent from their parents. It is not the exception for International students because they also feel the necessity of working to be independent
from their parents or whoever is responsible for them. However, for international students to work in the United States it is very difficult because
they are only allowed to work on campus. These kinds of jobs are very limited since some of the campuses in which they study are very small. Also for
an international student to find a job on campus is difficult because people prefer to employee an American student who is not going to have any
problem speaking the language. For example, last semester a friend from Venezuela who is studying at Miami Dade College decided that he wanted
to get a job in order to have his own money. He went to

Essay On Becoming A Writer
I remember distinctly the first time I was exposed to how writing, and specifically my own words on paper, could compel another person to feel
emotion. How they understood what I was feeling and thinking, simply by the words I wrote. I was in eighth grade and my English teacher was
giving me praise for a paper I had written on my parents' divorce. For the first time, writing wasn't about getting an "A" or following a five paragraph
system; we had been given minimal guidelines for the paper and I'd thrived. As my teacher, Ms. Palmer, had put it I understood how to "present a
factual story while keeping the reader's' interest." She suggested that I submit it to a special essay contest and I was thrilled. I gained so much that day,

Whether it was my frustrations about the never–ending conflicts in society or my personal dilemmas on being a modern day teenager, I can guarantee
I wrote about it. Even at my young age, I started to rack my brain trying to ascertain how I could be sure to use writing in my career. Should I be a
novelist, a poet, maybe even a screenwriter? All of these different ideas came and went during my phase of pondering. Once I hit high school
though, it all became clear to me; how I could help others through my writing. It came to me because of what Ms. Palmer had said; I could make
the pain and tribulations of everyday life less difficult, even if just for the small amount of time while someone was reading what I presented to the
world. I determined I would be a journalist. I aspire for my writing to make an impact on society, and aid people through the adventure of life.
Whether it's an investigative news article, editorial piece, or even a feature about an esteemable individual, I am eager to learn more about honing in

My Goals For College
Goals are standards or benchmarks that you hope to achieve over a certain periods of time. It is the object of a person's ambition or effort, an aim or

My goals for this class is to get a 90 each and every marking period for the rest of the year. for that i would have to do all my homework, all my

There are many obstacles that are going to be there to slow me down along the way. They come in many forms of distractions. These distractions

Professional Writing Model Essay
What article or reference did you find to use as a model for your own scholarly and professional writing? Provide the APA citation for the reference.
I choose the reference, Building a scholar in writing (BSW): A model for developing students' critical writing skills (Bailey, Zanchetta, Velasco, Pon, &
Hassan, 2015).
How is this model relevant to your development as a scholarly and professional writer in the field of psychology? Although, this particular model is
intended for Nurse Education in Practice. I find their model to be the most comprehensive when dealing with the many confusing aspects of APA
formatting properly, as well as dealing with the inevitable writers block we all run into from time to time.

English 101 Goals
When I started out the year I had three goals when it came to English 101. The first of my goals was that I was going to try and make a good grade
in the class so I did not have to take it again and move to 102 to be caught up with my friends. I did not accomplish this goal because I have been
trying very hard but obviously it just was not enough. My second goal was for me to try hard no matter what and make my parents proud. I did
accomplish this one to a point I did try my hardest but I probably have disappointed my parents for not doing good in the class the first time around.
My final goal was to make new friends when doing peer reviews. I have accomplished this goal I have made friend with Madison, and Ethan this year
during peer review day. Revising has never really been my strongest point when it comes to writing papers. Usually when I would write papers whether
it would be in high school or even for myself I would just turn it in the way it was and not even attempt to revise the paper and would get good grades
on them. Even if I would revise them then all I would check is the word placement and commas to see if they all were correct and then turn it in for
the final grading and I would always get a high grade on the paper. This year I really had to learn to revise better and I...show more content...

every now and then. That is how I went about revising both my research paper and my analysis

Becoming an Excellent Student
It is very important for me to say I absolutely enjoy music and learning about their different roots and where they each originate from. Initiating
this course I can say I over estimated myself with how well my grades would be. As time passed, I realized it was going to a little harder than I
thought because many of the topics covered were completely new information for me. There were some of which I consider my favorite and others
that weren't so appealing. However, in the process of obtaining the best grade possible in this course there were several of the traditional values that
are published by Alvernia University that helped me transform as a person and accepted the fact that failure is not an option, but it does help people
realize their strengths and weakness and how to use that in a positive way to improve in becoming a more excellent student. One of the first
traditional values of Alvernia University I believe I've always committed to is expecting more of ourselves. As mentioned previously, at the
beginning of the course I had a lot of difficulty adjusting to the new information I was learning. After not receiving the grade I would have liked in
one of the exams, I came to a conclusion; I had to work harder to achieve the grades I wanted, if the one hour class wasn't enough. I continued to have
high expectations and encouraged myself to study more frequently, and ask my classmates for clarification if were confused on any specific area of the
course. Although some

The Importance Of The Excellence In Education
1.What does the Excellence in Education (EIE) do?
I believe that the main aim of most schools is that providing the best education for each student in order to succeed in good universities and careers
life. EIE also has this objective, but the reason that makes EIE different in the better way is the excellent students' advice on the way to success.
EIE provides a friendly environment for students. There are three classes for teaching students in different age ranges. The good example of this
statement is the kindergarten's classroom. Each student is doing the different topic depending on their abilities and make them feel comfortable with.
The proportion of students per teacher is small so that students can ask questions on the topic that they do not understand. Students can jump to the
class of higher age range if the staffs assess that they have excellent progress compare to similar–age students.
EIE generates special learning equipment to maximise students learning abilities. All questions are well–designed and level–up from easy to difficult.
The booklet is a tool for teachers to track the progress of each student by looking at the marks for each question set to decide on progressing to a higher
level. Testing in time limit condition is another tool of assessment. After the class, parents can track their child progress and discuss with tutors about
their strengths and the part they need for improvement.
From the reasons above, EIE does the suitable teaching for varying

Accelerated English Essay
In the past years that I've been in high school English have been different each year because my level of english changed. I use to be really bad at
English class and thought I would never improve but this changed in ninth grade when I was placed in Accelerated English class because I had
joined the Avid program. This made me nervous because I thought I would fail Accelerated English quickly but as I was doing work in that class, I
found it quite easy and passed it with an A. This made me feel proud because it felt like I had improved but later I became nervous for starting
Sophomore year at Borah. The counselor had put me yet again in Accelerated English class, which I thought it would be harder than ninth grade.
When I begin doing the work in that class, some things were hard but later on I found it easy and passed it with an A as well. Once it was time to

many ways. This year will be very different than the past high school year because not only they say the Junior year is the hardest but also the most
important year. Junior year is the year that colleges will see how you do in your classes and colleges will see what college you're eligible to go to.
Another reason why this year is different is because this is the first year I'm taking an AP class so I need to try my best to see if I'll be able to handle

Why I Am A Good Candidate

  • 1. Why I Am A Good Candidate I believe I am a good candidate for Phi Alpha Epsilon because of my dedication and my ability to take on the tough task. The first reason I believe I am good candidate is my dedication. Over the past three years at North Carolina A &T State University I have pushed myself daily to excel. The process of getting to this point was grueling but it did not stop me. From the all–nighters to the endless my lab plus assignments, I never stopped pushing to be my very best. This is just one of the ways I have shown my dedication at A&T. Another way is in the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers. I show dedication in this student organization by president and making sure this organization doesn't go under. Another Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Writing An Exemplary Essay 1. Which parts of your essay do you feel most closely meet the expectations for exemplary writing as described in the essay rubric and why? I feel that the two strongest parts of my essay are my thesis and certain parts of my closing paragraphs. My focus, or thesis, most closely meet the expectations because it offers significant insight that is precise and creatively stated. It also addresses the content requirements and is fully supported throughout the essay. I like the wording I used for the thesis, and to me it's inspirational. Secondly, I think that certain parts of my closing are strong, particularly the lessons in perseverance that I learned from Seth. My grammar and mechanics have fulfilled the definition of exemplary in the essay rubric as well. 2. Which parts of your essay could use improvement, and why? While there are many parts of my essay that could use improvement, I am only going to focus on a couple. In paragraph four it feels as though I am rambling a bit about the details of the Domino Project story. I do think that how the project played out is important, I just...show more content... Specifically, when moving from paragraph five to paragraph six, besides using the word "another" twice in a row, it seems forced, like I am jumping into the next idea. How can I clearly transition without sounding automated? Also, the last sentence in paragraph five sounds like I just threw it in there. Should I take it out completely or rewrite it? I don't like how the last two sentences of my essay flow, although I really like the wording I used. How can I mix or add to these ideas to create more flow for the ending? Another thing I can improve upon is my style or voice. Sometimes I can sound a little sterile. How can I show more easygoing flow while retaining the professional feel of the essay? The audience I chose is future employers so I want to sound intelligent but not Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Growing up Under Certain Family Rules As children we all have certain rules that we must follow. Each family has different variations of rules; some may be stricter while others may be more lenient. No matter what type of household you grew up in, there was most likely some point in time when you got in trouble and told you parent or parents that you were going to raise your children completely differently. In my case I told them that I wasn't going to give that rule to my children. Every time I got in trouble and felt as though my parents were wrong and being unreasonable I would make a mental note in my mind that I wouldn't give my children that rule. However now that I am older I understand why my parents gave me certain rules. I can reflect on all of the times I got in trouble and admit that they were indeed my mistakes. As I've matured I can also start to figure out how I want to live my life and what I want my own family morals to be. I believe my parents have done a great job of raising me, they aren't helicopter parents yet they still know where I am and what I'm doing. If I want to go somewhere they have to know where it is and who I'm going with but most of the time they let me go. They give each of us kids our own personal space and we can do things on our own. This was the same as it was when I was younger. I remember we were at the beach once and I was digging a long stream for the water to run up in and reach a dug out pool. My mom was watching the whole time and when Mateo and I finally finished Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. what makes an excellent film Essay What makes an excellent film? It took me a little while to come up with an answer to, "What makes an excellent film?" There really is no answer, actually. I believe that an excellent film is within the eyes and emotions of the audience. After researching and discovering what actually won Oscars and Golden Globe awards, it came down to what the people thought, and the popularity of a film. It is extremely hard to predict what will win these awards before the movie is even released to the public. Before really thinking about the subject, some obvious traits of what I would consider "an excellent film" would be superior acting, beautiful scenery, etc., such as many present categories in the Academy or Golden Globe Awards. Of course I could...show more content... The only other time that this had happened was in the 1950's, for Ben Hur. These definitely have something to do with what makes an excellent film, but I also believe that the personal connection and emotions that someone has with a film is just as important. I feel that the emotional connection that people make with a film is, in most cases, an extremely important quality that directors can emphasize on in /their work. Whether it is a realistic movie that is based off of a true story, or a children's Disney movie, anyone can experience a sense of a character's point of view. Depending on the type of film (horror, suspense, comedy, drama, etc.), this emotional connection can vary among different people. In a classic Disney film such as Bambi, children can relate to Bambi. They can easily understand the type of experiences that he goes through such as having friends (Thumper, a joyous rabbit, and Flower, a loving skunk), playing on an icy pond, and even going through an emotional event of losing a loved one (the death of Bambi's mother). In general, people rarely want to watch films that they know they won't enjoy. This is why there are so many types of films, and different people have different views on what makes an "excellent film". The media can have an Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Explain Why I Am A Good Candidate I believe I am a good candidate because I am ready to take the next steps toward my future. I am prepared for what is going to take to thrive. I am motivated and determined to achieve my goals, Stevens Henager college is the place that is going to help me the most in my jump into the medical field. I am ready to work hard. • 6. How to Be A Good Student Essay How to Be A Good Student To become a success in life, we all need to learn to become a good student in every aspect of life. Becoming a good student takes much work and self–discipline. There are many ways that a student can stand out from the rest of the class. These good students are distinguished by their attitude, intellectual skills, consciousness, and achievement. Attitude is primarily a genuine desire to learn and the will to do hard academic work to achieve understanding. It is also shown by how well you apply yourself even to subjects in which you have little interest and how much you can achieve even when a teacher's style is not what you are used to. Also attitude can change the way you percieveperceive things...show more content... No one else can help you to attain a good attitude, you must decide and make it a goal to have a good attitude in your student life. (CS) Intellectual skills is (S–V Agr) another important aspect of becoming a good student. This skill includes the ability to read and understand, intelligent use of resources, mathematical and logical skills, efficient study habits, and the ability to communicate clearly and fluently. Intellectual skills include time management, exam strategies, study strategies, and goal setting. Consciousness, or awareness, is another helpful aspect of becoming a good student. The good student must be aware of their (agr) surroundings and know what is going on in the world around them. We must strive to relate what is happening around us to what we are learning. This should be important to us because we should care about what is going on politically, academically, socially, and spiritually. Being aware and paying attention is a good trait to continually learn and apply. Achievement is demonstrated by successful application of understanding. This aspect includes using correct and confident knowledge, effective communication, and continuanceing of education through out your life. Achievement gives you a sense of accomplishment and meaning. To become a good student, this must be a goal that you wish to accomplish. Becoming a good student can be time consuming but well worth

  • 8. Excellent Sheep Analysis In the text, Excellent Sheep, the author William Deresiewicz states that college is a time and space set up to help you to think. I agree with Deresiewicz's statement that college should help us in "developing the habit of skepticism and the capacity to put it into practice." However, this is not always easy because college is a period in which students face multiple challenges where they form their own individual sense of self. Students often find "the soul torn apart in a painful condition, as long as it prefers the eternal because of its truth, but does not discard the temporal because of familiarity." (Augustine, Confessions). Students tend to remain in positions where they are comfortable and do not want to participate in challenging tasks; they are inscribed with ways of thinking and feeling based on prior teachings at home and in school. This leads them to converse with people that have a similar thinking style and approach to life due to familiarity. Deresiewicz talks about Edmundson and how one of his teachers used the same method as Socrates, the teacher of Plato, and echoed his opinions back to him, which forced him to deconstruct and reconstruct his own words. This created an unfamiliar and uncomfortable environment where he was taught "not what to think, but how." Deresiewicz encourages the same approach to be used for college students to provide the basics of how to think. Although this seems like a simplistic approach, one thing Deresiewicz fails to point Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Essay Excellent Students Excell Students who excel in class and are successful throughout life have something in common which is much more important than accreditations and high test scores. Through the use of analytical, practical and creative thinking skills they are able to face life's greatest challenges. Every educational institution has good and bad students, so in order to boost your chance at success you need to surround yourself with the good students. Noticing patterns can help you see the differences between students, for example; the students who show up late everyday, those who never take notes, those who always procrastinate and those who never contribute anything when they are in groups. You can almost set your watch for the intentionally late students...show more content... In life most groups whether at work or school are assigned you can't pick and choose. The good students are the initiators of the group trying to make things happen rather than sitting back and waiting while others to do the work for them like bad students often do. Sometimes I sit in a group and I have ideas, but I am too afraid to tell the group so I don't say anything which is what bad students do. Good students have self–confidence which allows them to achieve goals instead of wasting time feeling sorry for themselves. These people are also willing to make mistakes to test out their ideas. Many occupations require cooperation among workers which many good students have before they enter the job market. The hardest thing for me on any big task is getting started, and when I realize that I have time before I have to turn in the assignment or deliver the presentation it just seems easier to put it off until the day before. When this happens I just break it up into smaller tasks so I can get started on it, after I get started the rest is easy. Waiting until the last minute is hard because it doesn't allow you to think clearly the onlythought in your mind is getting it done to avoid getting a zero or getting fired. When faced with this a bad student puts down their first idea instead of giving themselves time to think of better alternatives. Attitude determines everything about you, in school it determines whether you will be a straight A student or Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. written communication Essay INTRODUCTION. "Man is an animal that lives in language as a fish lives in water and so written communication is just one of the ways that man can survive through" (English scholar Annie Dillard). Writing is a skill to give information. Like all skills, it is not inborn and so it needs to be learnt. To give information you need good communication skills including the ability to write simply, clearly and concisely (Harris & Cunningham, 1996). Therefore gossip columnists quench the fans by searching for information on Madonna daily and reporting it. "All writers write to persuade or convince, regardless of what they are writing" (Harris & Cunningham, 1996, pg 216). From a poet, to a chef, all writers actually try to convince a reader in one way or another. The poet will try to convince people how a woman is like a rose and a chef on the other hand will try to convince that meat tastes better when boiled then fried. A student will try to convince an instructor that he has understood the course material by writing excellent essays such as this one. Through persuasive writing, people get things done by convincing a reader of something. Another reason is to write to solve problems and present solutions. Here, one visualizes a problem and then connects what one knows to what he does not know, by organizing his thoughts. The precursor leads to the quote: "A problem well put is half solved" (John Dewey). Writing to solve a problem starts with definition of a problem, then evaluating alternative solutions, then arguing for proposed solutions. By writing to solve a problem, one is fully engaged in the thought process and any good ideas that present solutions are immediately recorded. One can also draw small sketches which connect with one another to form Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. I Am An Best Candidate For This Program I believe that I am an excellent candidate for this program. For me, school is a top priority. I always strive to be my best, and my G.P.A. proves my point. I put 100% effort into everything I do. I am not nervous to talk to adults, and address any questions I have. To be at this high of a level of difficulty demands hard work and devotion, and I have those qualities. There is so much in this program that will help me succeed in life. First of all, this program will help me graduate college a year earlier than the rest of my class. I am already young for my grade, so if I am involved in this program I will graduate college at the age of 20 years old. I will be two years younger than most my graduating class. This will help progress me in life, and give me a jump start. Also, the financial help is huge to me. In my family, the burden of paying for college is placed on the children. I have a job, and a special bank account, and every paycheck that I get goes into that account to make sure I have money for college. But, if I got into this program, the stress of paying for college for two years will be taken off my shoulders. This program goes along with my plan. After high school, I am going to go to Muskegon Community College and receive my associate 's degree, and then transfer to a state school where I will achieve my masters degree. My ultimate career/educational goal is to go to college and earn my bachelor 's degree. I have not decided what I want to be, or major in, but Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The most important aspects they believe the leaders must have been including honest, forward–looking, inspiring and competent. Kouzes and Posner also offer five practices of excellent leaders. First is model the way, excellent leaders lead through their own words, lives, and actions. They won't affect someone else's life. Second is inspiring a shared vision, an excellent leaders envision the future by imagining exciting possibilities and then they enlist others in a common vision by appealing to shared aspirations of organizational members. • 13. International Students Essay example Differences between American Students and International Students Most young people believe that studying in a different country is a privilege because they are able to experience other cultures, and learn from them. However, in the United States it is not as good as they thought because International students have much more pressure being in this country, and sometimes they cannot handle it very well. Therefore, in theUnited States the life of an international student is very unfavorable if people compare it to the life of an American student. International students have to learn a new language to study, they cannot work while studying, and their tuition is much more expensive. When people moves to the United Stated to study they ...show more content... They know their structure and have a very superior vocabulary, so they can compose excellent essays. In addition, since American students speak English very well, they do not have any problem participating in class. They have confidence in themselves, so they will not be afraid of saying something wrong. Consequently, because American students do not have to learn any language to study their mayor, it is much easier for them to achieve excellent grades. Most university students feel the necessity of working since they would like to have their own money in order to be independent from their parents. It is not the exception for International students because they also feel the necessity of working to be independent from their parents or whoever is responsible for them. However, for international students to work in the United States it is very difficult because they are only allowed to work on campus. These kinds of jobs are very limited since some of the campuses in which they study are very small. Also for an international student to find a job on campus is difficult because people prefer to employee an American student who is not going to have any problem speaking the language. For example, last semester a friend from Venezuela who is studying at Miami Dade College decided that he wanted to get a job in order to have his own money. • 14. Essay On Becoming A Writer I remember distinctly the first time I was exposed to how writing, and specifically my own words on paper, could compel another person to feel emotion. How they understood what I was feeling and thinking, simply by the words I wrote. I was in eighth grade and my English teacher was giving me praise for a paper I had written on my parents' divorce. For the first time, writing wasn't about getting an "A" or following a five paragraph system; we had been given minimal guidelines for the paper and I'd thrived. As my teacher, Ms. Palmer, had put it I understood how to "present a factual story while keeping the reader's' interest." She suggested that I submit it to a special essay contest and I was thrilled. It came to me because of what Ms. Palmer had said; I could make the pain and tribulations of everyday life less difficult, even if just for the small amount of time while someone was reading what I presented to the world. I choose the reference, Building a scholar in writing (BSW): A model for developing students' critical writing skills (Bailey, Zanchetta, Velasco, Pon, & Hassan, 2015). How is this model relevant to your development as a scholarly and professional writer in the field of psychology? Although, this particular model is intended for Nurse Education in Practice. • 17. English 101 Goals When I started out the year I had three goals when it came to English 101. The first of my goals was that I was going to try and make a good grade in the class so I did not have to take it again and move to 102 to be caught up with my friends. I did not accomplish this goal because I have been trying very hard but obviously it just was not enough. My second goal was for me to try hard no matter what and make my parents proud. I did accomplish this one to a point I did try my hardest but I probably have disappointed my parents for not doing good in the class the first time around. My final goal was to make new friends when doing peer reviews. I have accomplished this goal I have made friend with Madison, and Ethan this year during peer review day. Revising has never really been my strongest point when it comes to writing papers. Usually when I would write papers whether it would be in high school or even for myself I would just turn it in the way it was and not even attempt to revise the paper and would get good grades on them. Even if I would revise them then all I would check is the word placement and commas to see if they all were correct and then turn it in for the final grading and I would always get a high grade on the paper. This year I really had to learn to revise better and I...show more content... I looked for grammar to start out with which took a little while because I had to check the punctuations and commas and see if they were placed right. Then I checked to see if all the words were spelled right and see if I was missing any words that would make a sentence better within a paragraph. After all of this was done then I went back to see if there were any quotes that needed quotation marks and I even attempted to paraphrase every now and then. That is how I went about revising both my research paper and my analysis Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Becoming an Excellent Student It is very important for me to say I absolutely enjoy music and learning about their different roots and where they each originate from. Initiating this course I can say I over estimated myself with how well my grades would be. As time passed, I realized it was going to a little harder than I thought because many of the topics covered were completely new information for me. There were some of which I consider my favorite and others that weren't so appealing. However, in the process of obtaining the best grade possible in this course there were several of the traditional values that are published by Alvernia University that helped me transform as a person and accepted the fact that failure is not an option, but it does help people realize their strengths and weakness and how to use that in a positive way to improve in becoming a more excellent student. One of the first traditional values of Alvernia University I believe I've always committed to is expecting more of ourselves. As mentioned previously, at the beginning of the course I had a lot of difficulty adjusting to the new information I was learning. After not receiving the grade I would have liked in one of the exams, I came to a conclusion; I had to work harder to achieve the grades I wanted, if the one hour class wasn't enough. I continued to have high expectations and encouraged myself to study more frequently, and ask my classmates for clarification if were confused on any specific area of the course. Although some Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. The Importance Of The Excellence In Education 1.What does the Excellence in Education (EIE) do? I believe that the main aim of most schools is that providing the best education for each student in order to succeed in good universities and careers life. EIE also has this objective, but the reason that makes EIE different in the better way is the excellent students' advice on the way to success. EIE provides a friendly environment for students. There are three classes for teaching students in different age ranges. The good example of this statement is the kindergarten's classroom. Each student is doing the different topic depending on their abilities and make them feel comfortable with. The proportion of students per teacher is small so that students can ask questions on the topic that they do not understand. Students can jump to the class of higher age range if the staffs assess that they have excellent progress compare to similar–age students. EIE generates special learning equipment to maximise students learning abilities. All questions are well–designed and level–up from easy to difficult. The booklet is a tool for teachers to track the progress of each student by looking at the marks for each question set to decide on progressing to a higher level. Testing in time limit condition is another tool of assessment. After the class, parents can track their child progress and discuss with tutors about their strengths and the part they need for improvement. From the reasons above, EIE does the suitable teaching for varying Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Accelerated English Essay In the past years that I've been in high school English have been different each year because my level of english changed. I use to be really bad at English class and thought I would never improve but this changed in ninth grade when I was placed in Accelerated English class because I had joined the Avid program. This made me nervous because I thought I would fail Accelerated English quickly but as I was doing work in that class, I found it quite easy and passed it with an A. This made me feel proud because it felt like I had improved but later I became nervous for starting Sophomore year at Borah. The counselor had put me yet again in Accelerated English class, which I thought it would be harder than ninth grade. When I begin doing the work in that class, some things were hard but later on I found it easy and passed it with an A as well. Once it was time to apply for Junior year classes, knowing that they didn't have an Accelerated English class in Junior year and my scores from the last two years of English class inspired...show more content... These are my first few goals that I have but as time passes they might change or have some new ones to add to this list. The reason I'm taking AP language is to keep improving my English level to be prepared for college in the future. I feel like taking this class can challenge me and benefit me in many ways. This year will be very different than the past high school year because not only they say the Junior year is the hardest but also the most important year. Junior year is the year that colleges will see how you do in your classes and colleges will see what college you're eligible to go to. Another reason why this year is different is because this is the first year I'm taking an AP class so I need to try my best to see if I'll be able to handle Get more content on HelpWriting.net
