My Favorite Teacher By Hattie M. Friedman
In a person's life, that person will have one role model that will stick with them. This role model may not be by the person's side every single day, or
every year, but the role model's lessons and memory can last lifetimes. In "My Favorite Teacher" by Thomas L. Friedman, the author tells the readers
about his role model, named Hattie M. Steinberg, and the impact she had on his life. Many times, people do not even realize how much of an impact
one person can have on them until that person is gone. On the top of the list, Friedman does a wonderful job at starting out the story. He began the
story with an attention grabber that includes the death of people who put a mark on the world. Instantly, the statement that Friedman uses pulls the

My Favorite Teacher in History
In my school there are many teachers. Each one teaches us different subjects. Although all of them are fairly good, there is one teacher whom I
love and admire the most. Her name is Mrs. Grace Gilo. There are some teachers, who hardly ever make an impact on, or touch someone's life for
the better. Some just go through life teaching. But there are some that change a person's life, for the better. She was the kind of person that everyone
loved. She never asked too much, or expected too much. She is the most pleasing personality that I have ever come across. She is an ideal teacher.
She has all those qualities which a good teacher is expected to have. A history teacher, a role model and now OIC at Mariano Marcos Memorial High
School. Mrs....show more content...
Now that she is an OIC in my alma mater, I really think she deserves it. I knew how hard she worked and how kind she was. I hear that she will soon
be a principal in another school. As I begin my first year of college, I can't help but look back and reminisce about my days as a high school student. I
feel lucky for having had such an unforgettable high school life and thankful for the people that were a part of it. Mrs. Gilo has always been more than
an educator to me. I look up to her as both a teacher and a friend, and I am so blessed to have her as a part of my

A Study On My Favorite Teacher Essay
After attempting to contact many preschools and not getting a response back, I went to my favorite teacher, the person who inspired me to
become a teacher, and asked if I could observe her room. Deanna Duncan, a second grade teacher at Pioneer Elementary in the Evergreen School
District, jumped at the opportunity to help me with the assignment. Thursday morning I arrived at her classroom right before the kids started
piling in so I could let her know the specifics of my observation. After all 20 of her children had been seated (one child was absent), 11 of which
were boys, nine girls, she explained to them who I was, what I was doing, and let them know I was a friendly person and they were encouraged to
answer any questions I may ask of them. Out of the 20 students, I observed that there were four who were Mexicanā€“American, one that was
Africanā€“American, one Asianā€“American, and the remaining 14 were Caucasian. Deanna has been teaching for over 20 years. She earned her
undergraduate degree from George Fox University and her Masters from Washington State. There was one parent volunteer present in the classroom
who is in there frequently, and a reading specialist was in the room for a short period working with specific children. The main mission statement of the
school is to show Pioneer Pride by being safe, kind, respectful, and responsible. Posters of this statement are displayed in every classroom and
throughout the halls. Upon asking, I was shown the classroom rules which

My Favorite Teacher Essay
Trying to determine my favorite teacher over the past sixteen years of my life, I went through every grade of school searching for the best academic
teacher I had. I loved some of my math teachers and some who taught English, but I could not find the one teacher that stood out above the rest.
However, similarly to how most writers find their inspiration, when I was having a random conversation with my family one day, I found myself
rambling on and on about how fantastic a certain teacher was. I had not even thought about her as an option for my favorite teacher, but after talking
about her for about fifteen minutes straight I reconsidered my choices. Elective courses, classes besides the four core subjects, are usually not taken as

Russell was such a good teacher. An individual who walked into her class on any given day would realize the amount of time she dedicates into a
single class period. She opens every tab necessary on her computer before class for the lesson in order to not waste a second of time. Generally, she
had about ten tabs open. My class completed several activities a day, and she knew exactly which order to assign them in and how long the class
would need for each one. It seems like a characteristic any teacher should have, but I do not think I have ever been taught by a teacher that put so
much planning into her lessons. She constantly grades papers in order to get grades in as soon as possible; my friends and I have observed her
grading at several events, including pep rallies and basketball games. She grades so much that she has developed a neck injury from looking down
at her desk so much. I remember her saying during class one day, "If I start crying, don't worry; my neck is in a lot of pain from grading your
papers, but I'll be fine". Most teachers would take the day off or sit down or something, but not Mrs. Russell. If she took a day off, I knew something
was seriously wrong. It usually included the hospital. The dedication she has towards her job is unlike any other person I have witnessed; there is
nothing she would rather be doing than teaching a class of thirty students, some

Teacher Is My Favorite Quote As A Teacher Essay
Teachers are there to educate the minds of the youth. "A teacher takes a hand, opens a hand, and touches a heart" by an unknown author is my
favorite quote as a teacher. While interviewing two people I saw this quote portrayed in both, but in different ways. Both teachers had the same
outcome, but one teacher was much stricter than the other. I have wanted to be a teacher all my life, however, that still doesn't mean that I have no
fears in the career of teaching in fact I have many fears. When interviewing Katie Bauer, from Brookfield Elementary, she made my fears real. One
of the fears that I have always had in going into the career of teaching is will I be able to balance my personal life with school life. It is one of my
biggest fears of becoming a teacher, especially when the time comes that God blesses me with children. Katie told me she spends about ten to twenty
hours a week prepping outside of school plus the school day. That is about eight hours, five times a week. That is a lot of time that is taken up by
grading, responding to students, and prepping for future lessons, and educating students. Katie Bauer is a fourthā€“grade teacher, a wife, and a mother of
two young children with her oldest only at toddler age. I asked Katie if she ever felt guilty or had any regrets. She stated "it is definitely hard to
manage, but I wouldn't change it for the world, I love my kids and I love my students. There nothing else I would rather do" (Katie Bauer). She

My Motivation For Being A Teacher Essay
My motivation for being a teacher comes from somewhere deep within my heart and soul. I love children. I love the look that comes across their
faces when they finally grasp a concept after they have been trying to truly understand it. I had a lot of teachers that made an impact on me and I
want to have the same impact on as many children as possible. My teachers installed a love of learning in me. There is no better profession than
teaching for those who want to learn. One is learning just as much from their students, if not more, than what they teach. Teaching is rewarding
and involves making the world a better place. That is my calling. To change the world, one person at a time, by showing love to each and every
person I meet. Weather it be one of my students or one of their parents, I want to be Christ's light just like my teachers were for me. I want to be the
support system that shows each and every one of my students that they can do anything they put their mind to. Not only can they shoot for the
stars, but they can shoot far beyond. After all, I was once just a kid from a small farm town that no one knows about. Now I've been on 4 mission
trips, I travel all around, and I moved half way across the country to chase my dreams. I am here because I was impacted by my high school history
teacher/ musical director, Mr. Wittig. He pushed me to chase my dreams and to follow my heart and not to let anything get in my way. I want to share
what I have with every child I can,

My Favorite Teacher By Thomas Friedman Summary
Thomas L. Friedman the author of "My Favorite Teacher" discusses in that essay his teacher Hattie M. Steinberg, her influence on him, and how
relevant her teachings would have been in this internet day and age. Friedman uses the repetition of his favorite teacher's name and classroom number
to connect and unify these ideas. For example, Friedman believes that many people have forgotten the fundamentals due to the internet so he uses the
repetition of his teacher's name and classroom to connect both ideas. He states this in the ninth paragraph "Among the fundamentals Hattie introduced
me to was The New York Times. Every morning it was delivered to room 313...." In the following paragraph Friedman does the same thing using the
repetition of his

Favorite Teacher
Choosing a favorite teacher is fairly difficult when one puts into account all the types of teachers they have known, all of them are important. Teachers
are the second most important people in our lives, right after our parents. Teachers are persuasive and have the power to build a child up from an
immature student to become a responsible adult; or they can completely and utterly crush a students hopes and dreams. As an identical twin my mother
has always pulled a few strings to have my sister and me in the same classes throughout elementary school. We were absolutely inseparable.
Transitioning from elementary to middle school was a milestone for me. Every class I was placed in was different from my sister's. I was friendless,

Teacher Is My Favorite Teacher
I remember when going to preschool use to be my favorite thing to do. I did over three years of preschool because while I was in daycare Miss
Justice taught us. Miss Justice she is my favorite teacher I've ever had. I have many memories in daycare but the one that sticks out the most is when
we had rock wars on the playground. Daycare and preschool is a time that I will never forget.
Teacher I Hate The meanest teacher I ever had was my math teacher. She wasn't a bad teacher she just didn't know how to come across right. plus
she always gave me detention after school so that made me spend more time there than I wanted to. It wasn't even for good reasons, she just got mad
easily. Most of the time she got mad because I would call math dumb or pointless. After having her as a teacher my patience have gotten a lot better.
Teacher I Like The teacher that has most impacted my life is Miss Smith. She was my freshman and sophomore English teacher. Those two years were
the hardest part of my high school career. I didn't think that high school was important, she helped me understand that high school defines my future.
She help me as much as she could being an English teacher. I counted on her to help me through my problems and also on school work.
Favorite subject I'm a very active person, so obviously my favorite class is PE. I love to work out, but I hate running. Working out makes me feel so
much better. My favorite part of PE though is the games. I'm a very competitive

My Most Influential Teacher
Throughout my years at Deposit Central School I have had many influential teachers. However, the most influential teacher that I have had is not a
school teacher, but a teacher that has taught me the values of life. The definition of a teacher is a person who teaches or instructs. It does not
necessarily mean that a teacher is alway part of a school, it means that it is someone who makes a difference and educates you. The most influential
teacher that I have encounter is my mom, Stephanie. Teachers play a significant role in shaping and defining a student, and that is what my teacher
has done for me. My mom has taught me the values in life and the good. She has showed me that if you have a strong drive, then you will succeed in
life. She...show more content...
And now, she never felt like getting into the holiday spirit until she meant my mom. My mom told the lady that she is trying to set a good example
to her kids so they will not be afraid to be themselves in public. I was pretty young when this happened, but I remember this because my mom
absolutely loves the holidays and now she still can without being afraid her kids will tell her to stop. Of course now when we go shopping we all sing
to the christmas music.
In addition to teaching me character and leadership, she has taught me to help others. It has always been a big part in our family to help others.
My mom always asked us if we are willing to help others, and because we have learned that at a young age we always say yes. It always feels good
when we help out family members who may not be able to get groceries up their stairs or to rake leaves for them if they can't get outside. Service
was a big "subject" that she taught us because it was important to her when she was growing up as well. Another quality that was important to her
was teaching us to have goals during school. She never cared what the grade was necessarily, but she cared about the effort that was put into it. I
think that made it a lot easier for my sister and I to enjoy school more because we knew if we put in 100% effort then she would be proud of us no
matter what. My mom struggled in school because she just never understood some of the subjects, but what she did understand was her drive to beat

What makes a good teacher? Essay
In my opinion, a good teacher should be one who puts her heart into teaching. This is because only by doing so will the students feel their passion
and hard work. When a teacher strives hard for the students, students will put in their effort as well. If a teacher dislikes her job, goes to classes in a
bad mood, her teaching would also be affected and students would not be able to enjoy lessons as well.
Another point that makes a good teacher would be his/her patience. Teachers should not get upset or even worse, give up on the students who are not
so strong in their studies. Instead, they should have the patience to slowly coach them, give them extra lessons, and find different ways to encourage
them. Let them know that the teacher...show more content...
It would be better if the teacher is able to find common topics to chat with the students. This would let the students feel like they can relate better to the

"You must not give up. I want to let you know that even if you're facing so many problems, and feel like there's no one to talk to, I'll be here for you.
Everyone else might want to be the sun that lights up your life, but I rather be the moon that guides you through your darkest hours. Let's strive hard
and work toward our goal together!" This was what my high school teacher told me 10 years ago and I have remembered it until now, and will
remember it for the next 10 years and so on.
I was once a problematic kid who mixed with bad company and flunk tests. I never thought about what I was going to do the next day, what more
when I grew up. Of course when I was younger, I had lots of dreams. I wanted to set up my own company, I wanted to be a teacher, I wanted to be
able to drive an airplane and the list went on. But as the years went by, they became less insignificant to me and soon, I forgot every single one of
those dreams and goals. I got to a new school and knew friends who smoke and took drugs. My grades started dropping from "A" to fails. But I did
not care. I could not be bothered by then. I went partying every night and got home drunk. What was the point of studying? My parents are

My Favorite Teacher
I have encountered numerous teachers during my educational career, but only a few have made a memorable impact on my life. Whether it was doing
the best providing my education or a coach that helps me improve on and off court/field/track. Teachers and coaches like this are what makeschool
enjoyable. Through all of the teachers I have ever had in class Mr. Price, Coach Nathan Loftiss, and Coach Jacob Schneberger have been the ones I've
enjoyed the most.
Mr. Price is one of the smartest human beings I have ever met. He's taught me geometry, trigonometry, algebra III, chemistry, and physics. Everyone

My freshman year I made state and if it wasn't for his way of coaching I never would have made it. When he told me he no longer would be a coach at
BFā€“DC, I was devastated. I did not want my track coach to leave. Track is my favorite sport, it's my passion. At the end of the year when he was
handing out track awards, I bawled. He has had such an impact on my life. He taught me a great deal of things in track and about dedication and for
that I am grateful. We still keep in contact and I still keep him updated on all my track stuff.
When I found out Jacob Schneberger was going to be my new track coach I was quite excited. I thought since he used to run for Loftiss and was just a
college graduate, things during this year would be great. At the start of the season practices were mostly good but then he stopped showing up to
coach us because he was trying to get his bus driving license. I was the only one during this year to make state. The week before state Jacob pushed
me hard during practice. It was how I wished he would have coached practices from the beginning. My junior year I decided to powerlift and Jacob
was the coach. It was the best decision I ever made not only was it the funniest sport to play it helped me tremendously in track. I had such better
times and my starts were 1000 times better than they'd ever been. Not to mention, I was beating several guys at the powerlifting meets and boy did I
feel accomplished! During this track season Jacob pushed all of

Saying Goodbye To A Teacher
Saying goodbye to a my choir teacher They say people never know how important something is, until it's gone. When I said goodbye to my choir
teacher, it opened my eyes to how influential she was. Jami Lercher pursued the job of my choir teacher freshman and sophomore year at Roseville
Area High School. She played a significant role in my life as my mentor and a great friend. She also invited me to join her outside of school choir, VOX
and we grew even closer through that experience. Everywhere she went, merriment and exhilaration followed her. She assisted me with the ability to
read notes and read music. Unfortunately, the jubilance of the choir department would come to a halt. Mrs. Lercher received the opportunity of a
lifetime and was accepted into the university of Miami Florida to pursue her doctorate degree. She would depart from RAHS, taking that merriment
and exhilaration with her to Miami that she had constructed for the choir department. The choir students were grieving, but we supported her decision
and knew that this would aid her immensely when she would come back to teach. The night I said goodbye to Mrs. Lercher was a night of
waterworks, compliments and the hardships of expressing our goodbyes.
That night my choir, Bel Canto, just finished our final concert of the year, making the waterworks pump double of what they should. The crowd roared
when we finished our final song called "Sail Away". The compliments flowing from the audience's mouths about how

My Ideal Teacher
Throughout my lifetime, I've had both unsatisfactory and superb teachers that were both memorable to me. All teachers have flaws and there is no
perfect teacher; however, there are teachers whose negative qualities could overpower their positive points. Despite the characteristics of a teacher,
what makes them different is the strategy they use to teach and the environment they create. Depending on these two aspects, students would use their
preference to determine whether they have been memorable in both a negative or positive way. There has been various teachers I've encountered and
there were a few that I would have considered a displeasing teacher. Overall, the few teachers whose traits were organized, enthusiastic, and easygoing
were characteristics that I would considered a good teacher. There are many students that would have prefered certain trait such as organization skills. If
a teacher were to be disorganized, then many students would complain about the amount of ungraded assignments that are affecting their grade. I had
a teacher who was like this, she had piles of papers on her desk and she stressed with both her work and personal life. Despite the amount of stress that
she had, she was still enthusiastic with her job. She had an unusual strategy because she would fuse the latest trends with the assignments. For example,
she would call our grammar packet the "naeā€“nae" and the our reference packet the "whip". On the other hand, she didn't grade everything

Paulo Freire V.S. Favorite Teacher
Out of all the teachers I have had throughout school one of them sticks out to me way more than the rest, as far as begging my favorite goes. His name
was Mr. Austin, he is an eighth and tenth grade history teacher. When he taught he made the class very fun, interesting and educational. Paulo Freire
thought that education should be an interactive and learning experience for both the teacher and the student, and not just the teacher depositing
information into the student. Mr. Austin class would definitely receive high marks from Freire. Mr. Austin was my favorite teacher for multiple
reasons. The first was he made the class fun and educational at the same time. For almost every lesson he had a project or something for us to do
to go along with it. For instance when we were learning about gorilla warfare the class ran and hid in the halls why Mr. Austin tried to walk
around and spot us. If we made it back to his room before him and without being spotted we got some bonus points. Another thing he did was when
we were learning about the Kennedy assassination he pretended to be the Lawyer for Lee Harvey Oswald trying to prove his innocence, and the
Lawyer for the USA trying to convince Oswald of the assassination. The class got be the jury and we were aloud to ask questions and he would
answer them as both people and swing the argument back and forth, and in the end the class took a vote to see if we thought he was guilty or innocent.

Speech About My Favorite Teacher
I had heard stories for years about the high school music teacher, Mrs. Smithgall, before my freshman year. My older brother was active in the music
program and often talked at length during family dinner about the repertoire chosen for each concert; naturally, when I came to the high school, I was
excited to meet the woman who would be guiding me through four years of advanced music study. I had no idea that she would grow to be my
favorite teacher and one of my strongest advocates in high school. Mrs. Smithgall was a vibrant woman, especially in appearance. I am not entirely
positive that she surpassed five feet when standing. She was incredibly petite, and her slender figure was typically reclined in her office or at a
piano bench during rehearsals, with her right leg crossed over her left. Her fine (but thick) hair was just slightly blond, and often pulled back by a
black zigzag headband. She had bright blue eyes behind her glasses, always shockingly rimmed with light blue eyeliner. I grew much closer to her in
my sophomore year when I became eligible to participate in PMEA events. PMEA, the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, hosted district,
region, and state evaluations for band, orchestra, and choir. Mrs. Smithgall suggested that I audition on Alto 1 instead of singing Soprano 2, as I
normally did in the school choir. "Classical soprano is written unfairly," she chuckled as I signed up. I practiced with her a few times before District

Descriptive Essay About My Teacher
My creator. My abettor. My sidekick. My teacher. My defender. My superstar. These are all the things that my sire wholeheartedly is. From keeping
me safe to play childish games, he is always there to guide me. Although his overloaded job keeps him at station for an eternity, he quickly
maneuvers through the overwhelming pile of work, and somehow still finds time to help me study for a test, help me finish my homework, and play
games with me. When a monstrous test is charging at me with all of its might, he uses his brilliant mind to swiftly teach me how to defeat the test
with a triumphant score. Then comes the period of activity, the hardest part of his day, the part where he almost always quits and leaves: the workout.
With a determination to become physically fit, he bolts up the rigid stairs, charging into his closet to get dressed into his navy baggy sweatpants and
his neon yellow tā€“shirt; then races down to the basement like it's the end of the world. The Xbox sits idle while the fitness game eagerly waits to be
played. He fires up the Xbox and starts on his 1ā€“hour journey to absolutely destroy the computer in tennis. Following his crushing victory over the
weak computer in tennis, I wandered to the basement in hopes of escaping my dreadful homework, only to be absolutely flabbergasted by the number
of experience points he has gained on the game. Then comes the part where my ponderous dad sluggishly lumbers up the stern stairs. Suddenly his

Essay Best Teacher, Worst Teacher
Best Teacher, Worst Teacher
Although I have had many different types of teachers, there are two that stick out more than any others. The first was my third and sixth grade teacher.
She was the best teacher I ever had. The second was my seventh grade teacher. She was the worst I think a student could have had. Both, these teachers
had very different teaching styles and very different out looks on teaching. To be an effective teacher the teacher must respect the student and be willing
to go the extra mile to help the students learn all they can. In this paper, I will discuss the effectiveness of these two teachers and how their teaching
styles differed.
First of all, what is a good teacher? According...show more content...
I hope that I do not become a teacher like this.
Now that I can see the difference in good and bad teaching I have two teachers in mind that fit each description. The first being my favorite teacher.
She was both my third and sixth grade teacher. She showed me that I could be what ever I wanted to be. She made me feel that even though I was
not the best student in the class I still could be the best if I gave a little more. She motivated me to do all my work and gave me the extra boost I
need to learn. When the students in my class did something right she always praised us. She also played game with us to learn. According to the book
it says. ?If the teacher keeps the students involved they will be more likely to like school and learn in school.?
The second type of teacher is and ineffective teacher. This type of teacher does not motivate or enthuse their students to learn. My seventh grade
teacher was this type of teacher. She was a cake decorating teacher at the vocational center then became a math teacher overnight. At the begging of
class, every day she would stand at the board and say class be quiet class shut up. That's all she would say the whole class and we never got anything
done. Then if she would try to teach she would read out of the book and never give examples. If a student would ask a question she would say you?re
not dumb you know the answer. The teacher always put the students down. According to

Education : My Favorite Teacher
Throughout my years of school I have noticed that some teachers care more than others. I've had wonderful teachers and terrible teachers in every
year of school. Some teachers who are very in to what they teach and some teachers who just sit in the corner on their computer while the students
watch a video waiting for the bell to ring at 2:25. In this essay I am going to reā€“live all of those years and talk about the teachers who truly cared about
their students and were not there teaching for some ulterior motive. Most of my favorite teachers were my music teachers. This is because they were
always there after school to help if you were struggling with something. In middle school I always used that to my advantage to get better. Once
teacher helped out and my first year playing an instrument I made an honor band which is a huge privilege. I couldn't have done this without her.
Throughout the next four years I used her to my advantage. I have made almost every single honor band you could think of thanks to her. Another
one of my teachers saw that I was failing her class she took it upon herself to offer me private tutoring. I stayed after school every Tuesday and
Thursday, keep in mind this also took up her time at home as well as mine, to get help in biology. I knew that she had a family to take care of but
she thought of me first and wanted to help me in passing this class. In the end I did pass and from that I was able to graduate. I feel that many of the

My Favorite Teacher By Hattie M. Friedman

  • 1. My Favorite Teacher By Hattie M. Friedman In a person's life, that person will have one role model that will stick with them. This role model may not be by the person's side every single day, or every year, but the role model's lessons and memory can last lifetimes. In "My Favorite Teacher" by Thomas L. Friedman, the author tells the readers about his role model, named Hattie M. Steinberg, and the impact she had on his life. Many times, people do not even realize how much of an impact one person can have on them until that person is gone. On the top of the list, Friedman does a wonderful job at starting out the story. He began the story with an attention grabber that includes the death of people who put a mark on the world. Instantly, the statement that Friedman uses pulls the readers Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. My Favorite Teacher in History In my school there are many teachers. Each one teaches us different subjects. Although all of them are fairly good, there is one teacher whom I love and admire the most. Her name is Mrs. Grace Gilo. There are some teachers, who hardly ever make an impact on, or touch someone's life for the better. Some just go through life teaching. But there are some that change a person's life, for the better. She was the kind of person that everyone loved. She never asked too much, or expected too much. She is the most pleasing personality that I have ever come across. She is an ideal teacher. She has all those qualities which a good teacher is expected to have. A history teacher, a role model and now OIC at Mariano Marcos Memorial High School. Mrs....show more content... Now that she is an OIC in my alma mater, I really think she deserves it. I knew how hard she worked and how kind she was. I hear that she will soon be a principal in another school. As I begin my first year of college, I can't help but look back and reminisce about my days as a high school student. I feel lucky for having had such an unforgettable high school life and thankful for the people that were a part of it. Mrs. Gilo has always been more than an educator to me. I look up to her as both a teacher and a friend, and I am so blessed to have her as a part of my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. A Study On My Favorite Teacher Essay After attempting to contact many preschools and not getting a response back, I went to my favorite teacher, the person who inspired me to become a teacher, and asked if I could observe her room. Deanna Duncan, a second grade teacher at Pioneer Elementary in the Evergreen School District, jumped at the opportunity to help me with the assignment. Thursday morning I arrived at her classroom right before the kids started piling in so I could let her know the specifics of my observation. After all 20 of her children had been seated (one child was absent), 11 of which were boys, nine girls, she explained to them who I was, what I was doing, and let them know I was a friendly person and they were encouraged to answer any questions I may ask of them. Out of the 20 students, I observed that there were four who were Mexicanā€“American, one that was Africanā€“American, one Asianā€“American, and the remaining 14 were Caucasian. Deanna has been teaching for over 20 years. She earned her undergraduate degree from George Fox University and her Masters from Washington State. There was one parent volunteer present in the classroom who is in there frequently, and a reading specialist was in the room for a short period working with specific children. The main mission statement of the school is to show Pioneer Pride by being safe, kind, respectful, and responsible. Posters of this statement are displayed in every classroom and throughout the halls. Upon asking, I was shown the classroom rules which Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Favorite Teacher Essay Trying to determine my favorite teacher over the past sixteen years of my life, I went through every grade of school searching for the best academic teacher I had. I loved some of my math teachers and some who taught English, but I could not find the one teacher that stood out above the rest. However, similarly to how most writers find their inspiration, when I was having a random conversation with my family one day, I found myself rambling on and on about how fantastic a certain teacher was. I had not even thought about her as an option for my favorite teacher, but after talking about her for about fifteen minutes straight I reconsidered my choices. Elective courses, classes besides the four core subjects, are usually not taken as ...show more content... Russell was such a good teacher. An individual who walked into her class on any given day would realize the amount of time she dedicates into a single class period. She opens every tab necessary on her computer before class for the lesson in order to not waste a second of time. Generally, she had about ten tabs open. My class completed several activities a day, and she knew exactly which order to assign them in and how long the class would need for each one. It seems like a characteristic any teacher should have, but I do not think I have ever been taught by a teacher that put so much planning into her lessons. She constantly grades papers in order to get grades in as soon as possible; my friends and I have observed her grading at several events, including pep rallies and basketball games. She grades so much that she has developed a neck injury from looking down at her desk so much. I remember her saying during class one day, "If I start crying, don't worry; my neck is in a lot of pain from grading your papers, but I'll be fine". Most teachers would take the day off or sit down or something, but not Mrs. Russell. If she took a day off, I knew something was seriously wrong. It usually included the hospital. The dedication she has towards her job is unlike any other person I have witnessed; there is nothing she would rather be doing than teaching a class of thirty students, some Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Teacher Is My Favorite Quote As A Teacher Essay Teachers are there to educate the minds of the youth. "A teacher takes a hand, opens a hand, and touches a heart" by an unknown author is my favorite quote as a teacher. While interviewing two people I saw this quote portrayed in both, but in different ways. Both teachers had the same outcome, but one teacher was much stricter than the other. I have wanted to be a teacher all my life, however, that still doesn't mean that I have no fears in the career of teaching in fact I have many fears. When interviewing Katie Bauer, from Brookfield Elementary, she made my fears real. One of the fears that I have always had in going into the career of teaching is will I be able to balance my personal life with school life. It is one of my biggest fears of becoming a teacher, especially when the time comes that God blesses me with children. Katie told me she spends about ten to twenty hours a week prepping outside of school plus the school day. That is about eight hours, five times a week. That is a lot of time that is taken up by grading, responding to students, and prepping for future lessons, and educating students. Katie Bauer is a fourthā€“grade teacher, a wife, and a mother of two young children with her oldest only at toddler age. I asked Katie if she ever felt guilty or had any regrets. She stated "it is definitely hard to manage, but I wouldn't change it for the world, I love my kids and I love my students. There nothing else I would rather do" (Katie Bauer). She calmed my doubt a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. My Motivation For Being A Teacher Essay My motivation for being a teacher comes from somewhere deep within my heart and soul. I love children. I love the look that comes across their faces when they finally grasp a concept after they have been trying to truly understand it. I had a lot of teachers that made an impact on me and I want to have the same impact on as many children as possible. My teachers installed a love of learning in me. There is no better profession than teaching for those who want to learn. One is learning just as much from their students, if not more, than what they teach. Teaching is rewarding and involves making the world a better place. That is my calling. To change the world, one person at a time, by showing love to each and every person I meet. Weather it be one of my students or one of their parents, I want to be Christ's light just like my teachers were for me. I want to be the support system that shows each and every one of my students that they can do anything they put their mind to. Not only can they shoot for the stars, but they can shoot far beyond. After all, I was once just a kid from a small farm town that no one knows about. Now I've been on 4 mission trips, I travel all around, and I moved half way across the country to chase my dreams. I am here because I was impacted by my high school history teacher/ musical director, Mr. Wittig. He pushed me to chase my dreams and to follow my heart and not to let anything get in my way. I want to share what I have with every child I can, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. My Favorite Teacher By Thomas Friedman Summary Thomas L. Friedman the author of "My Favorite Teacher" discusses in that essay his teacher Hattie M. Steinberg, her influence on him, and how relevant her teachings would have been in this internet day and age. Friedman uses the repetition of his favorite teacher's name and classroom number to connect and unify these ideas. For example, Friedman believes that many people have forgotten the fundamentals due to the internet so he uses the repetition of his teacher's name and classroom to connect both ideas. He states this in the ninth paragraph "Among the fundamentals Hattie introduced me to was The New York Times. Every morning it was delivered to room 313...." • 8. Favorite Teacher Choosing a favorite teacher is fairly difficult when one puts into account all the types of teachers they have known, all of them are important. Teachers are the second most important people in our lives, right after our parents. Teachers are persuasive and have the power to build a child up from an immature student to become a responsible adult; or they can completely and utterly crush a students hopes and dreams. As an identical twin my mother has always pulled a few strings to have my sister and me in the same classes throughout elementary school. We were absolutely inseparable. Transitioning from elementary to middle school was a milestone for me. Every class I was placed in was different from my sister's. I was friendless, and at...show more content... However, although our conversations may be few and far between, they always make for memorable moments. As I continue to get older, I cannot help looking back and reminiscing about my days as an elementary student. I feel lucky for having such an unforgettable childhood and thankful for the people that were apart of it. • 9. Teacher Is My Favorite Teacher I remember when going to preschool use to be my favorite thing to do. I did over three years of preschool because while I was in daycare Miss Justice taught us. Miss Justice she is my favorite teacher I've ever had. I have many memories in daycare but the one that sticks out the most is when we had rock wars on the playground. Daycare and preschool is a time that I will never forget. Teacher I Hate The meanest teacher I ever had was my math teacher. She wasn't a bad teacher she just didn't know how to come across right. plus she always gave me detention after school so that made me spend more time there than I wanted to. It wasn't even for good reasons, she just got mad easily. Most of the time she got mad because I would call math dumb or pointless. After having her as a teacher my patience have gotten a lot better. Teacher I Like The teacher that has most impacted my life is Miss Smith. She was my freshman and sophomore English teacher. Those two years were the hardest part of my high school career. I didn't think that high school was important, she helped me understand that high school defines my future. She help me as much as she could being an English teacher. I counted on her to help me through my problems and also on school work. Favorite subject I'm a very active person, so obviously my favorite class is PE. I love to work out, but I hate running. Working out makes me feel so much better. My favorite part of PE though is the games. I'm a very competitive Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. My Most Influential Teacher Throughout my years at Deposit Central School I have had many influential teachers. However, the most influential teacher that I have had is not a school teacher, but a teacher that has taught me the values of life. The definition of a teacher is a person who teaches or instructs. It does not necessarily mean that a teacher is alway part of a school, it means that it is someone who makes a difference and educates you. The most influential teacher that I have encounter is my mom, Stephanie. Teachers play a significant role in shaping and defining a student, and that is what my teacher has done for me. My mom has taught me the values in life and the good. She has showed me that if you have a strong drive, then you will succeed in life. She...show more content... And now, she never felt like getting into the holiday spirit until she meant my mom. My mom told the lady that she is trying to set a good example to her kids so they will not be afraid to be themselves in public. I was pretty young when this happened, but I remember this because my mom absolutely loves the holidays and now she still can without being afraid her kids will tell her to stop. Of course now when we go shopping we all sing to the christmas music. In addition to teaching me character and leadership, she has taught me to help others. It has always been a big part in our family to help others. My mom always asked us if we are willing to help others, and because we have learned that at a young age we always say yes. It always feels good when we help out family members who may not be able to get groceries up their stairs or to rake leaves for them if they can't get outside. Service was a big "subject" that she taught us because it was important to her when she was growing up as well. Another quality that was important to her was teaching us to have goals during school. She never cared what the grade was necessarily, but she cared about the effort that was put into it. I think that made it a lot easier for my sister and I to enjoy school more because we knew if we put in 100% effort then she would be proud of us no matter what. My mom struggled in school because she just never understood some of the subjects, but what she did understand was her drive to beat Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. What makes a good teacher? Essay In my opinion, a good teacher should be one who puts her heart into teaching. This is because only by doing so will the students feel their passion and hard work. When a teacher strives hard for the students, students will put in their effort as well. If a teacher dislikes her job, goes to classes in a bad mood, her teaching would also be affected and students would not be able to enjoy lessons as well. Another point that makes a good teacher would be his/her patience. Teachers should not get upset or even worse, give up on the students who are not so strong in their studies. Instead, they should have the patience to slowly coach them, give them extra lessons, and find different ways to encourage them. Let them know that the teacher...show more content... It would be better if the teacher is able to find common topics to chat with the students. This would let the students feel like they can relate better to the teacher. "You must not give up. I want to let you know that even if you're facing so many problems, and feel like there's no one to talk to, I'll be here for you. Everyone else might want to be the sun that lights up your life, but I rather be the moon that guides you through your darkest hours. Let's strive hard and work toward our goal together!" This was what my high school teacher told me 10 years ago and I have remembered it until now, and will remember it for the next 10 years and so on. I was once a problematic kid who mixed with bad company and flunk tests. I never thought about what I was going to do the next day, what more when I grew up. Of course when I was younger, I had lots of dreams. I wanted to set up my own company, I wanted to be a teacher, I wanted to be able to drive an airplane and the list went on. But as the years went by, they became less insignificant to me and soon, I forgot every single one of those dreams and goals. I got to a new school and knew friends who smoke and took drugs. My grades started dropping from "A" to fails. But I did not care. I could not be bothered by then. I went partying every night and got home drunk. What was the point of studying? • 12. My Favorite Teacher Essay My Favorite Teacher I have encountered numerous teachers during my educational career, but only a few have made a memorable impact on my life. Whether it was doing the best providing my education or a coach that helps me improve on and off court/field/track. Teachers and coaches like this are what makeschool enjoyable. Through all of the teachers I have ever had in class Mr. Price, Coach Nathan Loftiss, and Coach Jacob Schneberger have been the ones I've enjoyed the most. Mr. Price is one of the smartest human beings I have ever met. He's taught me geometry, trigonometry, algebra III, chemistry, and physics. Everyone has plenty of time to ask questions and should never fall behind in his class due to this. He always wants his students...show more content... My freshman year I made state and if it wasn't for his way of coaching I never would have made it. When he told me he no longer would be a coach at BFā€“DC, I was devastated. I did not want my track coach to leave. Track is my favorite sport, it's my passion. At the end of the year when he was handing out track awards, I bawled. He has had such an impact on my life. He taught me a great deal of things in track and about dedication and for that I am grateful. We still keep in contact and I still keep him updated on all my track stuff. When I found out Jacob Schneberger was going to be my new track coach I was quite excited. I thought since he used to run for Loftiss and was just a college graduate, things during this year would be great. At the start of the season practices were mostly good but then he stopped showing up to coach us because he was trying to get his bus driving license. I was the only one during this year to make state. The week before state Jacob pushed me hard during practice. It was how I wished he would have coached practices from the beginning. My junior year I decided to powerlift and Jacob was the coach. It was the best decision I ever made not only was it the funniest sport to play it helped me tremendously in track. I had such better times and my starts were 1000 times better than they'd ever been. Not to mention, I was beating several guys at the powerlifting meets and boy did I feel accomplished! During this track season Jacob pushed all of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Saying Goodbye To A Teacher Saying goodbye to a my choir teacher They say people never know how important something is, until it's gone. When I said goodbye to my choir teacher, it opened my eyes to how influential she was. Jami Lercher pursued the job of my choir teacher freshman and sophomore year at Roseville Area High School. She played a significant role in my life as my mentor and a great friend. She also invited me to join her outside of school choir, VOX and we grew even closer through that experience. Everywhere she went, merriment and exhilaration followed her. She assisted me with the ability to read notes and read music. Unfortunately, the jubilance of the choir department would come to a halt. Mrs. Lercher received the opportunity of a lifetime and was accepted into the university of Miami Florida to pursue her doctorate degree. She would depart from RAHS, taking that merriment and exhilaration with her to Miami that she had constructed for the choir department. The choir students were grieving, but we supported her decision and knew that this would aid her immensely when she would come back to teach. The night I said goodbye to Mrs. Lercher was a night of waterworks, compliments and the hardships of expressing our goodbyes. That night my choir, Bel Canto, just finished our final concert of the year, making the waterworks pump double of what they should. The crowd roared when we finished our final song called "Sail Away". The compliments flowing from the audience's mouths about how Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. My Ideal Teacher Throughout my lifetime, I've had both unsatisfactory and superb teachers that were both memorable to me. All teachers have flaws and there is no perfect teacher; however, there are teachers whose negative qualities could overpower their positive points. Despite the characteristics of a teacher, what makes them different is the strategy they use to teach and the environment they create. Depending on these two aspects, students would use their preference to determine whether they have been memorable in both a negative or positive way. There has been various teachers I've encountered and there were a few that I would have considered a displeasing teacher. Overall, the few teachers whose traits were organized, enthusiastic, and easygoing were characteristics that I would considered a good teacher. There are many students that would have prefered certain trait such as organization skills. If a teacher were to be disorganized, then many students would complain about the amount of ungraded assignments that are affecting their grade. I had a teacher who was like this, she had piles of papers on her desk and she stressed with both her work and personal life. Despite the amount of stress that she had, she was still enthusiastic with her job. She had an unusual strategy because she would fuse the latest trends with the assignments. For example, she would call our grammar packet the "naeā€“nae" and the our reference packet the "whip". On the other hand, she didn't grade everything Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Descriptive Essay : What Is My Favorite Teacher? Paulo Freire V.S. Favorite Teacher Out of all the teachers I have had throughout school one of them sticks out to me way more than the rest, as far as begging my favorite goes. His name was Mr. Austin, he is an eighth and tenth grade history teacher. When he taught he made the class very fun, interesting and educational. Paulo Freire thought that education should be an interactive and learning experience for both the teacher and the student, and not just the teacher depositing information into the student. Mr. Austin class would definitely receive high marks from Freire. Mr. Austin was my favorite teacher for multiple reasons. The first was he made the class fun and educational at the same time. For almost every lesson he had a project or something for us to do to go along with it. For instance when we were learning about gorilla warfare the class ran and hid in the halls why Mr. Austin tried to walk around and spot us. If we made it back to his room before him and without being spotted we got some bonus points. Another thing he did was when we were learning about the Kennedy assassination he pretended to be the Lawyer for Lee Harvey Oswald trying to prove his innocence, and the Lawyer for the USA trying to convince Oswald of the assassination. The class got be the jury and we were aloud to ask questions and he would answer them as both people and swing the argument back and forth, and in the end the class took a vote to see if we thought he was guilty or innocent. • 16. Speech About My Favorite Teacher I had heard stories for years about the high school music teacher, Mrs. Smithgall, before my freshman year. My older brother was active in the music program and often talked at length during family dinner about the repertoire chosen for each concert; naturally, when I came to the high school, I was excited to meet the woman who would be guiding me through four years of advanced music study. I had no idea that she would grow to be my favorite teacher and one of my strongest advocates in high school. Mrs. Smithgall was a vibrant woman, especially in appearance. I am not entirely positive that she surpassed five feet when standing. She was incredibly petite, and her slender figure was typically reclined in her office or at a piano bench during rehearsals, with her right leg crossed over her left. Her fine (but thick) hair was just slightly blond, and often pulled back by a black zigzag headband. She had bright blue eyes behind her glasses, always shockingly rimmed with light blue eyeliner. I grew much closer to her in my sophomore year when I became eligible to participate in PMEA events. PMEA, the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, hosted district, region, and state evaluations for band, orchestra, and choir. Mrs. Smithgall suggested that I audition on Alto 1 instead of singing Soprano 2, as I normally did in the school choir. "Classical soprano is written unfairly," she chuckled as I signed up. I practiced with her a few times before District Chorus Preā€“Auds, and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Descriptive Essay About My Teacher My creator. My abettor. My sidekick. My teacher. My defender. My superstar. These are all the things that my sire wholeheartedly is. From keeping me safe to play childish games, he is always there to guide me. Although his overloaded job keeps him at station for an eternity, he quickly maneuvers through the overwhelming pile of work, and somehow still finds time to help me study for a test, help me finish my homework, and play games with me. When a monstrous test is charging at me with all of its might, he uses his brilliant mind to swiftly teach me how to defeat the test with a triumphant score. Then comes the period of activity, the hardest part of his day, the part where he almost always quits and leaves: the workout. With a determination to become physically fit, he bolts up the rigid stairs, charging into his closet to get dressed into his navy baggy sweatpants and his neon yellow tā€“shirt; then races down to the basement like it's the end of the world. The Xbox sits idle while the fitness game eagerly waits to be played. He fires up the Xbox and starts on his 1ā€“hour journey to absolutely destroy the computer in tennis. Following his crushing victory over the weak computer in tennis, I wandered to the basement in hopes of escaping my dreadful homework, only to be absolutely flabbergasted by the number of experience points he has gained on the game. Then comes the part where my ponderous dad sluggishly lumbers up the stern stairs. Suddenly his stomach rumbles and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Essay Best Teacher, Worst Teacher Best Teacher, Worst Teacher Although I have had many different types of teachers, there are two that stick out more than any others. The first was my third and sixth grade teacher. She was the best teacher I ever had. The second was my seventh grade teacher. She was the worst I think a student could have had. Both, these teachers had very different teaching styles and very different out looks on teaching. To be an effective teacher the teacher must respect the student and be willing to go the extra mile to help the students learn all they can. In this paper, I will discuss the effectiveness of these two teachers and how their teaching styles differed. She made me feel that even though I was not the best student in the class I still could be the best if I gave a little more. She motivated me to do all my work and gave me the extra boost I need to learn. When the students in my class did something right she always praised us. She also played game with us to learn. According to the book it says. ?If the teacher keeps the students involved they will be more likely to like school and learn in school.? The second type of teacher is and ineffective teacher. This type of teacher does not motivate or enthuse their students to learn. My seventh grade teacher was this type of teacher. She was a cake decorating teacher at the vocational center then became a math teacher overnight. At the begging of class, every day she would stand at the board and say class be quiet class shut up. That's all she would say the whole class and we never got anything done. Then if she would try to teach she would read out of the book and never give examples. If a student would ask a question she would say you?re not dumb you know the answer. The teacher always put the students down. According to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Education : My Favorite Teacher Throughout my years of school I have noticed that some teachers care more than others. I've had wonderful teachers and terrible teachers in every year of school. Some teachers who are very in to what they teach and some teachers who just sit in the corner on their computer while the students watch a video waiting for the bell to ring at 2:25. In this essay I am going to reā€“live all of those years and talk about the teachers who truly cared about their students and were not there teaching for some ulterior motive. Most of my favorite teachers were my music teachers. This is because they were always there after school to help if you were struggling with something. In middle school I always used that to my advantage to get better. Once teacher helped out and my first year playing an instrument I made an honor band which is a huge privilege. I couldn't have done this without her. Throughout the next four years I used her to my advantage. I have made almost every single honor band you could think of thanks to her. Another one of my teachers saw that I was failing her class she took it upon herself to offer me private tutoring. I stayed after school every Tuesday and Thursday, keep in mind this also took up her time at home as well as mine, to get help in biology. I knew that she had a family to take care of but she thought of me first and wanted to help me in passing this class. In the end I did pass and from that I was able to graduate. I feel that many of the teachers at my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
