The Importance Of Exploring Career Options Essay
1. The Importance of Exploring Career Options Essay
Having a career is one of the most important things in life because; it's how money is made and a main source of income. Imagine having to wake
up every morning of everyday and then having to go to a job that you dread. Having a career allows a person to make money doing what makes them
happy, unlike a dead end job that you work 9â5 doing work that's hated. Finding a career isn't always as easy as it sounds. While in high school or
even coming out of high school, many students are undecided on what field they want to go into. It becomes hard trying to figure out what careers
are available, what things people are good at, and what will make a person happy and stable in life. There are many different opportunities out

It is also is a good idea to take a day out to just sit down and write down all of the things that have ever been thought of doing or becoming
throughout the life lived so far; from childhood to now. After all of the positive career choices are written down, reviewing each one and figuring
out how much a person has changed would be the next step. Usually when a person is in their childhood years they wanted to be things like
princesses and singers; over time things become more realistic and decisions change. Evaluating and thinking over the activities that are enjoyed and
hobbies will be the first way to narrow down a choice. Some things you may have liked when you were younger or even three of five years before,
may not be the things that enjoyable now. Separate the different likes and dislikes of job choices weighing them out; ditching the dislikes. "Career
planning is not an activity that should be done once ââ in high school or college ââ and then left behind as we move forward in our jobs and careers.
Rather, career planning is an activity that is best done on a regular basis ââ especially given the data that the average worker will change careers (not
jobs) multiple times over his or her lifetime. And it's never too soon or too late to start your career planning." ("CareerPlanning") At the end of this
career planning and after the different choices are narrowed down, think about what is really wanted

During the beginning of the second semester, Mrs. Bridges had assigned each of her classes a proposition which would include working with the

Equine judging is when you judge the conformation (how the horse is built) of a certain breed, including performance classes. Performance
classes are basically where you learn multiple patterns for a certain class while taking notes based off how the rider and horse perform as a team.
On April 22nd, both teams competed in the N.C State Horse Judging at St. Andrews equestrian center. Everyone was split up into groups (four
groups total); up until 3:30pm we observed each class thoroughly in order to place whom described how the breed and gender should appear.
Between the days I wasn't busy helping coach Arcadia volleyball, volunteering at Silverlin, or having equine judging, I would mow Kayla Brewer's
lawn since my sister doesn't seem to know how to properly mow a yard. Whenever she mow's, there would be uneven lines while leaving some places
untouched.
I also helped McKenna Hartman restore her old family barn after it was left in havoc from her distant cousins. We would wake up at 7:00am,
beginning work around 8:30am; we began just by clearing the aisle, tack room, stalls, as well as hayloft. When most of the junk was drugged out, we
proceeded to work on the stalls; most stalls had approximately around 1â2.8 ft of manure, shavings, along with hay. Did you know that repairing a
fence with a ten year old isn't that easy? We were forced to tear some fencing down while tightening other sections along with reânailing the

Throughout my own personal career journey, I have met and worked with many wonderful people. Many challenges that I have overcome because of
the help they gave me. There was a lot that I learned about youth development, working alongside these individuals. There was one person that from
the moment we met, we knew that we were going to be an effective team and accomplish many things that would help the students we provided
services for. As her assistant I learned to be assertive in a leadership role, to make decisions that would help theprogram succeed, and to create
partnerships with other organizations that provide resources, not just for the students, also their families.
The person that I chose to interview, her name is 'Michelle.' She was not just my supervisor, she became my mentor and the person I can count on for
any advice I needed regarding the field of youth development.
How I met my interviewee, Michelle (pseudonym) I went through a rough experience in my life that affected me emotionally. At the time I was

range in age from 14 to 18 and issues can range from drug/substance abuse, bullying, issues with home, pregnancy, and the list goes on.
Opportunities and future outlook The opportunities and future outlook for high school counselors will greatly depend on the size of the school and
its district. Currently, in the Duncanville School District, there are very limited spaces for school counselors. On the other hand, other local larger
school districts are in need of high school counselors because there are many students who are in need of needing someone to speak to about their
life issues and other social problems that they continue to encounter on a daily basis. The increase in student enrollment and the building of new
schools is not a negative situation. It is more so a situation that opens the doors for more individuals who have been certified in the area of counseling.
Overall, "employment for educational, vocational, and school counselors is expected to grow by 14 percent, which is faster than the average for all
occupations" (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2010â11, p. 1).

1.What is one short term goal you have on your agenda to achieve in the next couple of weeks to a month?
Civil Engineer involves building infrastructures, tunnels and bridges which require places and could possibly harm an environment. One of the
key term I must master is environmental regulations, during high school I took Environmental Science AP and had to learn about important acts.
Since this semester I did not challenge myself I took it upon myself to remember important acts such as Land and Water Conservation Act of 1965,
Forest Reserve Act of 1891, Taylor Grazing Act of 1934 and Multiple Use Sustained Yield Act 1960. Knowings this acts allows me to know my
rights incase in the future my team and I have problems with the law or regulation. Furthermore, under the Forest Reserve Act of 1891 if a project
includes building a road or a bridge on piece of land I believe could harm the environment's niche, the balance of the water system due to fertilization
runoff which causes algae growth and the forest I could send a letter to the President of the United States and request for it to be preserve. In simple
words I am basically studying the biomes of the world in the United States and the consequences of chemicals in the water systems and their long term
effects.

two occupations would be a good match for me. Although the jobs of a director of a college program like TRIO, and a project manager of a janitorial
company have many differences, they also share a few similarities. One thing both of these jobs have in common is planning and organizing, they
share these qualities both positions require that they make work schedules. Another similarity both jobs share is budget planning which involves
payroll, and making sure you have funds for supplies. And finally, both jobs share having to cooperate with others, as both positions require that you

In these four years of attending UWSP, I plan on majoring in Wildlife ecology and management. I was always a crazy animal lover when I was little,

13. Career Reflection Essay : Finding A Career Path
Finding a specific career path can not only be difficult, but it can also induce bouts of anxiety, anger, and sadness over a crucial part of an
individual's life. Settling on a career can be unnerving when thinking about the fact that this is the career that you spend thousands of dollars on in
college, that this is the career you will work in until you retire. With this course, I've found that it has been easier to narrow down a goal towards
finding a career. Through career assessments, different assignments and discussions, I have realized what my barriers and strengths are. Overcoming
these and improving these skills or applying them to an actual career assisted me in narrowing my goal as well. I am now able to clearly see the
advantages and disadvantages of my career goal and to think clearer about the next steps that I will take after this course.
Though I have known for a few months the basic path I have wanted to take regarding my career, Political Science, I hadn't focused the general study
down enough to be helpful enough to find a career path. After this course, I realized that I had a passion for design and international relations. Using
these two factors, I was able to narrow down my major so that it would have an emphasis on international relations, with an urban planning minor. With
this combination of knowledge, I am able to focus on developing communities in an international sense, along with being able to focus on developing
communities nationally or even
