2. Introduction
• A general contractor licensed by the State of New York, PCI Industries is among
the top 24 percent of licensed contractors operating in the state. A respected
member of the New York business community, PCI Industries is a strong
supporter of the New York State Police.
The New York City Police is leading 500 other law enforcement agencies in New
York State in implementing Traffic Criminal Software (TraCS). TraCS is a software
app that connects police officers with the central office by providing them with
the functions they need to record and retrieve incident information.
TraCS helps police officers write tickets and accident reports on a laptop
installed in patrol cars. The program also provides printed copies to persons
involved and transmits information to concerned government agencies and the
courts. TraCS also enters case data into the records management system.
Annually, more than two million traffic citations and 300,000 accident reports in
New York State are transmitted through TraCS. The success of this program is
the result of the continued coordination and collaboration between government
agencies. TraCS has significantly increased productivity and enforcement and
made the streets safer for New York residents and visitors.
