The document discusses Oushal Khoso's presentation on airborne diseases for their microbiology class. It defines air microbiology as the study of microorganisms present in the air. It describes how microbes are transferred through the air via sneezing, coughing, and talking. Some major airborne diseases discussed include diphtheria, tuberculosis, measles, mumps, chickenpox, the common cold, influenza, and others; and their symptoms and causes are outlined.

2. About
●
Name : Oushal khoso

Roll no : 29
●
Presentation topic : Air borne disease
●
Subject : Micro-biology
●
Department : Environmental science
●
Assigned by : Madam Faryal Almani
3. Air Microbiology
●
The study of microorganisms, which are present
in Air environment is called Air Microbiology.
OR
●
Study of living microbes suspended in air is
known as Aero-microbiolgy.
4. Isolation of Microorganism from Air
●
Atmosphere contain all major group of microbs
ranging from algae to the viruses.
●
In addition to gases air also contain
microorganism. Microorganisms exists within 300-
1000 feet of earth surface that have become of
dried leave, dust particles, water droplets, etc.
●
5. Transfer
●
Sneezing, coughing, talking
are efficient methods of
transferring microbes from
one respiratory tract to
another.
●
Air is only the medium of
transfer of microbes, they grow
very poorly in air.
6. Major Air borne dieases
●
Diphtheria
●
Whooping cough ( pertussis )
●
Tuberculosis
●
Measles, Mumps, Rubella
●
Chickenpox, Shingles
●
Common Cold, Influenza
●
Hepatitis, etc.
7. Diphtheria
●
Childhood respiratory illness
caused by cornyebacterium
diphtheria infection.
●
Spreed via fluid droplet entering
the lung.
●
Inflammatory response in throat
tissue of damage host cell,
leukocytes.
●
8. ● Symptoms :
Sore throat, low fever, cutaneous lesions.
●
Dead can occur from obstructed breathing.
9. Tuberculosis
●
This is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis
bacteria.
●
The transfer of this disease is, when a person inhale
infected respiratory droplets.
●
SYSMPTOMS.
●
Coughing up blood or phlegm, excessive night
sweating, fever, weight loss, and tiredness.
●
This disease can lead to chest pain, wheezing, and
11. Meales
●
Caused by paramyxo virus.
●
Spread from nasal and throat.
●
SYMTOMS
●
high fever at 104 f
●
runny nose, red eyes
●
watery eyes, rash begin
●
after 3-5 days appearance of
symptom
●
12. Mumps
●
Mumps is the contagious disease, caused by a virus
that pass from one person to another through saliva,
nasal secretion, and personal contact.
●
SYMTOMS
●
appear in two week.
●
High fever at 103 f
●
fatigue
●
body aches
●
headache
14. Chicken pox
●
Caused by vericela-zoaster virus.
●
This virus is transmitted through saliva, coughing, sneezing,
contact and by blood stream.
●
Dormant virus in nerve cell can migrate to surface skin
causing shingles.
●
Symptoms : fever, head ache, loss of appetite, after two
days of these red and pink bumps began to developing all
over the body surface.
16. Common Cold
●
85 % of cold is caused by rhinovirus and coronavirus,
15 % is caused by adenovirus.
●
The common cold is the viral infection of nose and
throat.
●
Children younger then six are at greatest risk of cold.
●
Symptoms : sore throat, cough, congestion, sneezing
and malaise.
18. Influenza ( FLU)
●
Caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and
lung.
●
It can cause mild to serve illness, and at times lead to dead.
●
Symptoms : fever or felling chills, cough, sore throat, runny
or stuffy nose, muscle ache or body ache, head ache, fatigue
( very tired ), some times vomiting and diarrhea.
●
It can control only by influenza antiviral drug.
