Editor's Notes
Diversity management can be understood as a historically situated concept. As a concept, Diversity management appeared and gained momentum in the USA in the mid-1980s. Diversity management can be defined as “Recognition and valorization of individual differences”. It is referred to as the key to growth in today’s fiercely competitive global marketplace. Thus in order to develop an inclusive culture, organizations that wish to seek global market relevancy and influence must embrace diversity – in how they think, act and innovate. Another thing organizations must understand is that diversity isn’t just about “making the numbers”, but rather how an organization treats its people authentically down to the roots of its core business model and ethics. Once diversity is embraced and recognized, a sense og unity is formed, resulting in a more comfortable working environment, allowing all employees to put unique value into their work
