Course Overview
Fire Safety Awareness course helps to obtain knowledge
about their rights at the time of emergency fire situations. The
course duration will be half-day (theoretical and practical
lesson) on Fire Safety, Prevention and Initial response to fire
incident.
The course design to ensure that:
• Participant able to describe and demonstrate the
importance of Fire Safety and Prevention.
• Action to be taken during Fire Incident including initial
response and evacuation.
• Participant able to demonstrate the use of first aid
firefighting equipment such as Fire Extinguisher, Fire Hose
Reel as well Fire Alarms activation.

Selection Criteria for Fire Warden
• Physically fit (mentally & physically).
• Familiar with the area that he/she going
to be assign as Fire Warden.
• Committed to deliver the roles and
participate in Fire & Life Safety activities.

As minimum, Fire Warden should be
equipped with:
• Fire Warden Awareness Training
• Portable Fire Extinguisher Training
And further advance with:
• Fire Safety & Prevention
• Basic Firefighting
• Basic Rescue

Roles & Responsibilities Of Fire Warden
EMERGENCY ROLES
• Conduct Fire Evacuation process for building
occupants
• Conduct Headcount at Assembly Area
• Assit in Search and Rescue for missing person.

NON-EMERGENCY ROLES
• Assist in Fire & Life Safety inspection
• Assist in Fire Hazard recognition and elimination
• Focal person for Fire & Life Safety issue

Fire Evacuation Plan
• A fire evacuation plan is a written document
which may includes the action to be taken by
all staff in the event of fire and the
arrangements for calling the fire brigade.
• It shall be display at common location.
• Periodically review and tested for fire
evacuation purposes.

▪ Confirm Fire incident
▪ Instruct people to leave the area
via the safest route and offer
assistance.
▪ Sweep assigned area and ensure
area is clear.
▪ Conduct initial firefighting if able to

Headcount Task for Fire Warden
▪ Conduct Headcount as per your
organization procedure (e.g; Manual tally,
headcount board, digital worker system)
▪ Inform First Aider team if there is any
injured person assemble within your area.
▪ Report to On Scene Commander on
missing person ( be exact in reporting)
▪ Remain at area until stand down or further
instruction

Using & Operating Fire Hose Reel
Turn on the hose reel valve in an anti-
clockwise direction.
Pull the hose and run it to the fire.
Turn on the water at the nozzle and direct
it at the base of the fire.
