In basic sense, Digital transformation is the use of digital technologies to improve the performance and productivity of businesses. It generally involves using big data analytics, mobile apps, social media, smart embedded devices, ERP and CRM, etc to improve customer relationships, business processes and value propositions. Some of the organizations have adopted digital transformation (at varied levels), while others are still doing the basics (i.e. ERP and/or CRM). Altogether, businesses have started to focus on mainly 3 key areas - customer experience, operational processes or efficiency and their business models. Today, I'll talk about how digital transformation can aid real estate companies to transform it's Sales and Marketing function. From customer data to social media tools to analytics, companies can use varied technologies to gain an in-depth understanding of its target audience i.e. customer segment/s, geographies and other factors. Such a understanding is critical for launching the targeted marketing campaigns, which improves campaign effectiveness or RoI and conversions. Lead Management System is crucial to ensure that only filtered (or interested) leads are assigned to the sales team for better conversions. Businesses can capitalize on process automation to improve the efficiency of various sales and marketing processes, thereby freeing up resources to focus on more strategic tasks, instead of routine operational tasks. Augmented realty or AR enables 3D walk-throughs for better viewing. Providing customers with virtual tour of various options, is now an key differentiation. A dedicated cross platform mobile app (iOS & Android) carrying photos, detailed property information, interactive maps and virtual tours of properties, has improvised the process of house hunting. Home buyers prefer to visit websites, which carry graphic visualization to get a more realistic view of a property, rather than physically visit the sites. Wealthy clients prefer to sit down with their agents or RM, whereby the graphic visualization offered through digital technologies, now play a critical part for closure. Finally, Big Data Analytics provides business leaders with deeper insights into products, processes and customers, enabling them to make strategic decisions based on real data instead of assumptions. Predictive analytics shall enable to accurately target prospects, with the kind of properties they're looking to buy, very much like personalized wish-lists that you find in Amazon.
