In July 2016, Nitesh Sharma was selected as one of fifteen candidates for our highly regarded
Fellowship Program from over one hundred global applications. The Fellowship Program sees ten young
individuals spend upto a month working with Pollinate Energy (www.pollinateenergy.org), a social
enterprise that provides sustainable solutions to India’s urban poor, playing a key role in city start-up
operations and market idenitification.
As a participant with Indian heritage, Nitesh was an essential part of the Fellowship Program assisting
Pollinate Energy and his international colleagues to navigate and understand the unique slum
community context. As a link between Pollinate Energy, the international Fellows and the end
consumer, Nitesh displayed an impressive ability to manage a challenging cross-cultural context. Not
only did Nitesh manage these interactions with the upmost professionalism, his interest, passion, and
commitment to social and economic development in India shone brightly.
It became evident throughout the Fellowship Program that Nitesh is a leader of his generation. His level
