2. Sir Lutaf Ali Mangrio is renowned development practioner cum
activist of Pakistan who ever promotes participatory rural
development in Sindh and Pakistan, and widely advocate
community participation in development. His particular
contribution was the establishment of HANDS Institute of
Community Development, which is the largest network of
capacity building institutions of Pakistan in social
development sector.
Sir Mangrio has designed and conducted over two hundred
national and international training programmes and
thousands of professionals have been trained by him. He has
travelled extensively in Pakistan and to several foreign
countries for presenting paper in national & international
workshops on different topics. Recently, he has authored
many "Training of Trainers" modules for development
professionals.
3. Sir Mangrio’s vision was a society based on the
values of equity, social justice and tolerance. His
compassion for the dispossessed and the
meek, and his commitment to improving their
well-being is reflected in every aspect of his work
and accomplishments. He has been striving to
reform the state and make it responsive to the
needs and aspirations of its citizens, particularly
those that are traditionally marginalized. He
provided leadership to Pakistan’s civil society and
HANDS Institute of Community Development for
bringing sustainable development in Pakistan.
