• The term “Compound ’’refers to the microscope
having more than one lens.
• A compound microscope consists of two optical
parts , namely the objective lens and the ocular
lens that enhances both magnifying power as
well as resolving power.

compound microscope is great use in pathology
labs.
• The presence or absence of minerals can be
determined.
• Plant cells are examined under the compound
microscope.
• Various crime cases are detected and solved by
drawing out human cells and examining them
under the compound microscope.
