2. Exam format
 The exam format for MRCPI part II clinical exam has
made vast changes in its format. The new format is in
form since 2013; however there are many students who
are not aware of it fully. That’s why I dedicated this
blog especially to discuss the changes made in the
format of MRCPI General Medicine Part II Clinical.

3. Two long case stations
 You will observe two patients for 25 minutes each. In
both, you will be pragmatic for 12 minutes continual
while you take a clinical account. Through the next 8
minutes you will sum up the record and do an attentive
and aimed at assessment. The residual 5 minutes of
the inspection will be keen towards conferring
exploration and board of the patient's general clinical
tribulations and aftercare. Your knack to
correspondence will be examined during these
positions during the experiential record taking, your
dealings with the patient and your skills to evidently
correspond with the assessor.

4. Five Short Case Stations
 You will be accessed by five self-regulating examiners
in each station for 10 minutes each on your capability
to extract and construe physical hum in different
clinical arrangement in four clinical patients and one
communication setting. In the starting 6 minutes of
the inspection you will be inculcated to observe the
patient and that observation will be based upon his
appearance and educe and infer physical signs. In the
enduring 4 minutes of the check, the assessor will
inquire you issues significant to the clinical
examination which you conceded out.

5. Marking
The examiners will use homogeneous marking sheets to
evidence your capabilities on a number of unusual skills
including:
 Clinical communication skills
 Managing relationship with patients
 Differential diagnosis
 Physical examination
 Identifying physical signs
 Clinical judgment
 Managing patients’ safety and quality of care

6.  Verdict of pass/fail scoring are made by the Board of the
Part II Clinical Examination after thorough data scrutiny
and accurate standard setting.
