Format the text and general page layout so that can make the page look
more appealing or easier to read
Mail merge from a database so that can easily send out letters to
multiple people at a time
Disadvantages
Data can sometimes be lost due to data corruption. On the other hand,
this could happen to somebody hand writing a letter because something
could happen to the paper such as a pen leaking. Also, this shouldn’t really
be a problem because regular backups should be made and the user should
save at regular intervals of times
Some symbols aren’t easily accessible, which makes typing in different
languages that use a different alphabet is difficult. Also, some complex
mathematical equations would be easier to hand write
Requires a computer to edit or view documents which may sometimes
not be there, especially when on the go

financial subsets.

more familiar with Excel.
Excel is capable of connecting directly to OLAP database and can
be integrated in Pivot Tables.
Disadvantages
Viruses can be attached to an Excel file through macros. Macros are
mini programs that are written into an Excel spread sheet.
Using only one file can make the file size very big and as a result
the program might run slowly.
So might have to break into smaller files, by doing so there is an
increased risk in excel data being lost.
Although there are training programs, it is still hard to use and some
users not get hang of it.

More exciting than a simple word document or hand written presentation
Master slides make presentations consistent
Disadvantages
Some features such as animations and backgrounds can distract the audience from the
actual information in the presentation
File size can become quite large on medium to large presentations
Some of the features can be quite complicated to use and even the simple features require
some getting used to
When at work, you can’t rely on someone else's computer or laptop to run your
presentation, there are too many software conflicts and disk space barriers.
Takes quite a bit of time to create a complete presentation
