KNOTTED LAMP
1
This lamp combines industrial and craft techni-
ques. It is made of cotton threads impregnated
with epoxy resin. The lampshade is made by
rice sheet.
The Knotted Lamp is inspired by the Knotted
Chair of Marcel Wanders. The hexagon shape of
the nodes is inspired by Graphene molecule.
This product is available with different colors. A
craftsman makes it, so each piece is unique as
well as the shadows drawing made on the wall.

A mobile panel designed to divide the living
space and separate into indipendent areas. It is
not just a product but an artistic piece of desi-
gn. The panel is composed of curved hexagonal
split-leveled pieces made of forex or wood with
the shape of a beehive cell. Beespace definitely
goes foward being a functional piece of design
but a juxtaposition of shapes and volumes, gi-
ving to the users visual plaesure as an artistic

Hélio is an exhibitor for the rare books col-
lection of the Central Library of Architecture in
Rome. It’s a structure positioned at the center
of the room to welcome people in an ethereum
and timeless space. The references come from
art and design field. In particular, the artwork
of Antonello da Messina San Girolamo nello
studio, and the design works of Hélio Oiticica.
The aim is to draw limits into limits, dividing the
space with fictitious boundaries. The structure
is made of wood, the ‘Noce Nazionale’. The floor
is made of linoleum.

an ideal stop-motion of what stays beyond as a

of Mauro Staccioli placed in front of The Natio-

The structure is smooth and curved in white

Bruce is a lamp for children that help them
not to fear the dark. This project starts with a
storytelling about a child, Bruce, that love scien-
ce and doesn’t like to sleep in the dark. The
brief was about two main concepts.
The first is the use of stone as main material, so
the base for the lamp is made of stone. The se-
cond is the ‘emotional design’, by giving a new
meanings to things. Each time Bruce plays with
the planets and moves them, the lamp switches
on thanks to a movement sensor. In this case
the lamp is also a game that embeds values of
childhood, of seeing everything as a reason of
joyfulness.

This stand was designed for Elica, a cooker
hood producer, for the Eurocucina Exhibition.
The space is divided both by walls and the flo-
or’s pattern. The walls draw lines on the floor
defining the path for the exhibition of the lu-
xury line of Elica’s cooker hoods. White and blue
are the colors used, the former for the walls
and the latter for the floor. These colors repre-
sent the sky, where ideally the air comes from.
The walls are edged irregularly to give the effect
of the wind and lightness, like the air filtered by
Elica’s hoods.

Desert Rose is a sofa designed for being a pro-

for giving a peculiar esthetic pleasure to the
users. The shape of this sofa is inspired by the
desert rose, a particular mineral that reminds
the shape of the flower. It is a theme exploited
also by Jean Nouvel for the Quatar National
Museum. The material used is leather and the
internal structure is made by wood and elastic
strings.

Here, an evolution of the concept of transfor-

a big pouf. The objective was the result was to
design a hybrid product for luxury apartment
usable all over the year.
The first step has been to conduct a desk re-
search and a field research visiting the most
important showrooms of luxury line pools in
Rome and to evaluate the actual production
process and needs of customers.
After that, the concept phase took place throu-
gh sketching. Finally, 3D modeling, engineering

A poster designed to advertise the 24th Confe-

under the supervision of the University of Ca-

ment of the poster is the synthesis of the two
elements characterizing that event, Sicily and
mathematics. The graphic had been so appre-
ciated from the organizers that they wanted to
print it on t-shirts and business cards.

Every year La Sapienza University of Rome pro-
motes its educational model to thousands of
students. This is a project of graphic design to
promote the Architectural Faculty to the future
students. The four main offices of the faculty
(Industrial Design, Landscape Architecture, Ar-
chitecture, Project Management) are the project
subjects of these four posters.
On the right, the poster for the Architecture
Course.
The process starts taking a physical object,
in this case the faculty building facade, and
destructuring it, plaing with rectangles, lines
and patterns. Here, the main references are
Leichtenstein, for the facade, and Byredo, for
the typographic style of the text.

Analyzing real case study, the insight is that di-

key role into the process of integration of diffe-

and be understood?
This is a research and analysis of the immigran-
