• This Tutorial will walk you through how to use the
Basecamp app.
• Apple iPhone screen shots have been used for this training
but android screens inside the app should look relatively
the same

• When to use Basecamp 3:
• To Book a fleet vehicle
• To book Richard Towpyha’s services
• To book James McCowan’s services
• To ask for extra labour
• To inform/ask all supervisors, project managers, project administrators about something
• How to use it:
• Always book vehicles as soon as possible
• An office administrator oversees assigning fleet trucks to the asking party
• If booking Richard T’s services, book the day before you need them, and book as early as
possible. He will assist on a first come first serve policy.
• If booking James McCowan for float moves or bins, book at least one day before you need
him, book as early as possible. He will assist on a first come first serve policy.
• Ask for extra labour as early as possible, state the amount of days you will need extra
labour, for what type of work and how many people you are looking for.
4. Basecamp Tutorial
• To begin using Basecamp:
• You will receive an email inviting you to download the
Basecamp 3 app
• Follow the instructions in the email.
• Once you have downloaded the Basecamp 3 App:
• Enter your email address the original email was delivered to
• Enter the password you created when following the email
instructions
• Choose the Hawkins Contracting account

• Open the Basecamp app
• This is the Home page
• This is where you access the different “projects”
of Basecamp
• If someone has started a conversation in any of
the “projects”, a notification will show up under
the Hey! tab
• Activity shows all of the conversations in order
of newest to oldest
• Find is where you could search for any files,
pictures, conversation or anything inputted into
Basecamp
Make sure to allow push notifications when
asked to ensure you see when the app needs to
alert you of something

• To start a conversation:
• Select which project you would like to access
• Click the campfire tab to request something in that
particular project
• In campfire, you can notify a certain user by
using the “@” then typing their name
• The message board tab is what the office will use to
inform the field staff of any important information

• The To-do’s tab is where you can make yourself a to-do
list
• The Schedule tab is where Daniel will schedule
trucks/trailers to anyone that has asked for one

• Automatic Check is where you can set up automatic
questions you want the app to ask you
• Docs & Files is where you will find any documents the
office has uploaded to Basecamp. (eg. User manuals,
equipment lists, contact lists, employee handbooks.
Ect.)
