• This Tutorial will walk you through how to use the
eCompliance app
• Apple iPhone screen shots have been used for this
training but android screens inside the app should
look relatively the same

• When to use eCompliance:
• To submit a JHA
• Tailgate talks
• To submit equipment pre-use inspections
• Workplace inspection reports (WIR)
• Fire extinguisher, first aid, spill kit, and eye wash inspection
• Worker / subcontractor observation
• New employee site orientation
• New Subcontractor site orientation
• Visitor orientation
• Incident investigation report
• Injury and Illness investigation report
• Near miss report
• Written warning

• To begin using eCompliance:
• You will receive an email invitation to join
eCompliance. Follow the instructions in
the email
• Download the eCompliance app from the
app store or google play
• Click the eCompliance app on your phone
once downloaded

• This is the first screen you will see when
opening up the eCompliance app
• Enter your email and password to login
• If prompted to allow notifications click
“allow”
• This is your home screen
• From here you can complete a form, or
view your action items

• If you want to submit a form:
• Click the + NEW button
• Select what type of form you would
like to submit
• When completing a form, the header will
be the same across every type of form
• Here you fill out your:
• Project Number
• Project Name
• Client
• Project Manager
• Project Supervisor
• Project Health and Safety
Representative (if any)

Equipment Pre-Use Inspection
• To submit an Equipment Pre-Use Inspection:
• In “forms” under the “Inspection” section click on the
equipment pre-use inspection
• Fill out the header of the inspection
• Enter the first day of the inspection week (Monday)
• Select the box beside the machine type you wish to
submit an inspection for
• Click the button and either select take photo or photo
gallery and submit the picture of each equipment pre-use
inspection
• Under the “signature” tab type in your name (click the
drop down option if it pops up)
• Sign your signature in the signature area provided
• When you are happy with your form, click Done and
submit for signoff or save draft if you wish to edit at a
later time
Only one eCompliance report is required for all of a sites

JHA
• Submitting a JHA is quite similar as to submitting a
equipment pre-use inspection
• In “Forms” under the “Meetings” section click on Job
Hazard Analysis
• Fill out the header of the form
• Click Yes when asked if a JHA was completed
• Click the button and either select take photo or photo
gallery and submit a picture of both sides of the JHA
• Choose the date of the JHA you are submitting
• Under the “signature” tab type in your name (click the
drop down option if it pops up)
• Sign your signature in the signature area provided
• When you are happy with your form, click Done and
submit for signoff or save draft if you wish to edit at a
later time

Tailgate Talk
• In “Forms” under the “Meetings” section click on the
tailgate talk you are wanting to deliver
• Fill out the header of the form
• Read the entire tailgate talk to your attendees and click each
box, checkmark, X or NA associated with each topic.
• Once you are done reading the tailgate talk
• Under the “attendees” tab type in your name (click the drop
down option if it pops up)
• Sign your signature in the signature area provided
• Have your attendees input their name and sign in the
signature area provided
• When you are happy with your form, click Done and submit
for signoff or save draft if you wish to edit at a later time

Action Items
• Action items:
• When completing a form and there is an item that doesn’t meet
expectations you need to fail that item by clicking the X
• If you need someone else to help solve this failure, you need to assign
them an action item
• Click the to enter the action item menu
• Fill out the “Action required” with what needs to be remedied to have the
failed item pass
• Click the priority field to open the “Priority” menu, choose the priority to
automictically populate the “Due date” menu
• Click the “Allocate to” field to enter the persons name you with to allocate
this action item to
• Only PM’s, HS Manager, Supervisors and Lead hands should be
allocated action items
• Click Okay when you are complete your action item
• Action items once submitted will notify the person you have allocated the
action item to
• They will then have until the due date to remedy the issue

Action Items
• Action items:
• If you allocate an action item:
• The person you allocated an item to will receive an email
and a notification on the eCompliance app stating that they
have been allocated an action item
• They will then accept the action item
• Once complete they will submit it
• You will need to go into your “Action items” and sign off on
the action item once it has been completed up to your
satisfaction
• If you are allocated an action item:
• You will receive an email and a notification on the
eCompliance app.
• Go into “Action items” and accept the allocation
• Once you have remedied the problem, submit the action
item for the allocator to sign off on

• Other things to remember:
• The use of the camera and notes is very
important to a well done inspection/form
• A means that, that field is required to be
filled out
• Any inspection item that begins with ***
means that the item is legislated. Legislated
items must always be in place and in good
working order. If you come across a legislated
item that is missing or not in good order, you
must immediately correct that deficiency, and
work may have to stop until that deficiency is
fully corrected.
