1. For this module, Effective Public Communication, EPC in short, it consists of 2
assignments. For the first assignment, we were required to create a photo blog about
any locations in Klang Valley only. The assignment requires 4 criteria which require us
to find relevant information about the people there, the type of food, different activities
done there and finally the architecture of the location. We chose to go to the ‘Avani
Resort’ at Sepang Gold Coast. It was quite tiring to go all the way there but overall we
had fun. Avani Resort is actually a tourism area so it fits our criteria well. After
completing this assignment, I’ve learned the importance of different cultures and also to
respect those cultures
The final assignment is the oral presentation where we have to choose one topic
out of the 4 given ones. I’ve chosen the 2nd topic which is the ‘Religious buildings
around the world‘. Overall, I learned to interact well with others more efficiently and
effectively. I also learned to how to present since we had a minimum amount of time
which is 8 minutes and it isn’t the usual time limit we were used to. So, I had to find
more information and practice my speech before presenting. As the saying goes,
practice makes perfect. After finishing the assignment, I’ve learned that it isn’t that easy
to explain the information gathered in a clear and logical way.
Honestly, I thought EPC would be a boring subject. But never would I know that
we would get such an amazing teacher, Mr. Ridhwan, who made it the other way.
Telling jokes and sometimes fooling around with us seriously made the class way more
interesting and fun. It motivates me to listen and study well for it as well. For me, he is
not only teaches us the subject, but also gave us tips on studying and the way to
present our presentation. I would like to thank you Mr. Ridhwan for being so patient with
our class and I wish you all the best in your future!
