Assignment title 10.4 Produce modifications to a circuit diagram
The purpose of this assignment is to:
Be able to use drawing and editing commands to modify an existing circuit diagram
Scenario
You are an employee for Hi-Viz, an electronics company, working in the CAD office. You have
been asked to check and produce new drawings of circuit diagrams.
Task 1
1a) You have to draw the circuit diagram that is to be used in a new musical product. A sketch of
the new circuit has been given to you by the engineering development team and is shown above.
In order to create this circuit quickly, you realise that the circuit produced in assignment 10.1 can be
modified easily to suit the requirements using the notes made on the drawing by the development
team.
To enable the new circuit diagram to be available as soon as possible for checking, modify the
electrical circuit diagram using the available CAD software from the information given. The drawing
Title Is HI VIZ OCT001. Print off an A3 copy.
1b) i) Draw the pneumatic circuit HI VIZ PN001 (issue 1) shown below. ii) Check the pneumatic
circuit and redraw the circuit diagram HI VIZ PN001 (issue 2) to include the appropriate
corrections. Print off an A4 copy.
3. This provides evidence for P6 and part evidence for P8
Task 2
In a table (such as in the example started below), list the drawing commands (rectangular array,
copy, move, rotate, stretch, trim, etc.) used in modifying the circuit diagrams and describe how you
used each command to modify the drawings. It may be useful to copy the parts of the drawing
referred to as part of the evidence as to how the command has been used.
Drawing/Edit Command Used for
This provides evidence for M2
Task 3
Write a short report that explains the different methods you can use to create relevant folder and
file names and maintain directory ‘trees’ to enable you and others to easily access the various CAD
drawings you have produced.
This provides evidence for M3
