1. CONTRIBUTIONS OF IDEALISM
 Idealism has given higher place to mental and
spiritual domains.
 Importance to past and culture.
 Importance to literature and arts.
 Self-realisation at the aim of education.
 Importance to the role of teacher in the
educative process.
 Importance to bookish knowledge.
 Importance to eternal values (Truth,
Goodness and beauty).
 Emphasis on personal development of child.
LIMITATIONS OF IDEALISM
 Too much emphasis on mind and spirituality.
 Over emphasis on bookish knowledge.
 Less importance to child in the educative
process.
 Concepts like spirit, mind, soul etc are
abstract in nature.

2.  Modern concepts like Information and
Communication Technology(ICT) doesnot find
a place in idealist system of education.
 No freedom is given to the child.
