Everyone knows being a parent is hard but is being a single parent harder? When there are two parents in the home, bills are typically paid by two
incomes many couples sometimes take this for granted until a parents' status changes into a single parent household. A single parent home is faced
with unimaginable struggles whether it's financial, finding competent child care, dealing with the child's behavior or accepting the fact they are alone;
ultimately, they could feel unsupported in everyway. These common problems are something single parents struggle with the hardest. Singles parents
have a tougher job because of limited resources.
Financial challenges surround single parents on every hand. When a single parent is the only bread winner they no doubt struggle economically and
many sacrifices have to be made in order to stay afloat. What many families take for granted are luxuries to a struggling custodial parent such as;
going to school for a post secondary education or having a car instead of public commuting. According to the Boston Globe, An estimated three out of
four custodial mother households in Massachusetts don't earn enough to makes ends meat. Crittenton Women's Union reports in its Massachusetts

I grew up in what I would consider. I had two parents who loved me and a sister I got along with most of the time. I never really thought about
single–parent families; I cannot recall any of my close friends having only one parent. Growing up with two parents may be normal for me, but for

Especially in today's society, it's disturbingly common for a child to have to grow up in a single parent household, letting the consequences of this
scenario internally destroy the child like a virus. The effects are usually the same, but the frequency of the effects shouldn't deter the severity. Another

For many years, children growing up in a single parent family have been viewed as different. Being raised by only one parent seems impossible to
many yet over the decades it has become more prevalent. In today's society many children have grown up to become emotionally stable and
successful whether they had one or two parents to show them the rocky path that life bestows upon all human beings. The problem lies in the
difference of children raised by single parents versus children raised by both a mother and a father. Does a child need both parents? Does a young
boy need a father figure around? Does the government provide help for single parents? What role do step–parents and step–siblings play? With much
speculation, this topic has become a very intriguing argument. What people must understand is that properly raising a child does not rely on the
structure of a family but should be more focused on the process or values that are taught to these children as they learn to mature. Children of single
parents can be just as progressive with emotional, social and behavioral skills as those with two parents.
People claim that the only way for children to gain full emotional and behavioral skills is to be raised by both a mother and a father. When a topic

to check him and diagnosed that the reason he had this seizure was because in just a short time he went from being a normal kid to having a such a

Single Parenting Is A Single Parent Household
In today's society, there are more and more families that are being raised by a single parent, whether it's a mother or father. In the world of political
correctness we live in today, it's frowned upon to say there's anything wrong with a single parent household. Society views single fathers and mothers
as strong willed people, and while they may be so, it's be proven that a child growing up in a single parent household often times has negative
outcomes. While in some situations single parenting cannot be avoided, a child growing up in a single parent household is affected in many different
ways. It seems to be widely known that single parenting isn't ideal. Most people have often heard the phrase "a child needs a mother and a father"
or some variation of that phrase. Despite this, a lot of families either are composed of one parent and the children or else the child is shepherded
back and forth between both parents. Despite the fact that this doesn't seem to be "ideal" it's happening more and more often. Perhaps one reason
for this is that not everyone knows exactly how bad some of the ramifications of single parenting can be. For instance, a child that is the product of
single parenting is twice as likely to drop out of high school, two and a half times as likely to be a teen mother, and 1.4 times as likely to be out of
school or work as a child that grows up with both parents. Just those statistics are staggering enough that people should look for more ways around

having a hard time in dividing their time with their work and taking good care of their kids. So, single parenting faces more disadvantages like the
experience of economic hardship, negative judgment of the community and the psychological effects on rearing children that make the family and

First, their children may suffer bullying because of having only one parent. This can affect the children's way of living. Kids who are bullied can
experience negative physical, school, and mental health issues. The child will not be able to do what he wants because he will be afraid to socialize
with other children. Second, a child with a single parent can compare their selves to the other children who have married parents. A child may feel
envious about not having a father/mother to guide him/her. According to Paul R. Amato, "Children living with single parents are exposed to more
stressful experiences and circumstances than being children living with continuously married parents." This statement proves that single parents are
having a hard time raising their children. Lastly, the children living with a single parent can have a hard time expressing their feelings. Children who
don't see or feel the act of love between his/her parent can have a hard time expressing their feelings with other person. Due to unseen acts of love, the
child may be confused on how he/she will show their feelings with other person. So instead of showing it, they are going to hide their feeling with
