Neal Ames works as a Senior Recreation Planner for the Queensland Government. His role involves researching, analyzing, planning, and implementing strategic sport and recreation programs, infrastructure, and directing key stakeholders to meet the present and future needs of communities. He serves on several planning committees and works to assess funding programs. Some of his responsibilities include project managing major infrastructure developments and coordinating the Get Playing Plus program.
