- The archive is key to Reinke’s practice, His work features musings on critical theory and pop songs, desires and fantasies, historical events and pornography, offering him endless permutations of ways to make ironic but pointed juxtapositions. Desire for sexuality and intellectualism is fundamentally the same Language as placeholders for objects
- The series overall is about making 100 videos as a young artist, his own personal growth into maturity. Worked on it from 1989 to 1996. A piece about documentary and how we construct this notion of capturing reality without subjectivity because it illegibly bypasses the imagination or the fiction. The subject is a man dying of aids.
