2. From the first part of the video, it is shown to begin setting the scene
of what’s happening, it shows us things such as what they eat, and
how they act. We see the apparel of each of the characters. We see
that there is a split between the characters. We see the non-white
members, who are known as “Dothraki” wearing more revealing
outfits for the females and the males are majority shirtless, which
could be done to show their muscles and so overall make them look
more violent.
We see the whites wearing more regel outfits, which could show that
they are more rich than the Dothraki are and so could show more
importance.
3. We see that the Dothraki are more barbaric and savage than the whites, as we
see that when the fighting scene happens, they are all shown to be enjoying
the fight, except from the small amount of whites who are there, with their
facial expressions showing that they are not used to violence like this,
especially at a wedding. This could show that the Dothraki people are more
savage and violent than others are, at the end of the fight, when one of them
is killed by the other, we see that everyone proceeds as normal and this could
show how natural this is for them and show how barbaric they are.
4. We see the figure of the men during the scenes and they are all
incredibly strong and shown to know exactly how to fight and
kill. This shows that they are all going to be doing the same job.
We also see the females as wearing incredibly revealing outfits.
Every Dothraki female that is shown during any of the scenes is
seen to be more of an object for sex then have a real role, whilst
the white woman is shown to have a real role and be shown
equal in camera shots with some people.
5. During the gift exchange, we get to see those giving gifts to be
shown equal with camera angles. We see others of the same
colour to be equal or lower than those being wedded, and they
don’t give eye contact to either of them, this shows that they
have less power than the rest. But, when the white man comes
to give his gift, he is shown to be above them both and gives eye
contact the entire time, showing that he doesn’t fear either of
them and has more power than them both.
6. We see that Drogo, the man that the woman is marrying is always
above her. No matter where they are, we can see this multiple times
with the first being when she stays knelt down whilst he stands up,
keeping the positioning and so overall showing that he is higher than
her. We then see at the end the same kind of positioning when he
gives her the horse. This is done to show that he has more strength
than her and could show that both ethnicity and gender comes into it,
as he is higher through strength and power, as all of the dothraki have,
and that since she is a female she will be shown lower in power than a
man is.
