How do I share my video on LinkedIn?
This is a question we often get asked by our clients at Napoleon Creative. After all, together we've worked hard to create a great video, so it's good to share it in as many ways as possible.
So here is a short presentation that shows you how to share your video on LinkedIn.
You can the video share it to your LinkedIn audience
You can add the video it to the contacts section of your LinkedIn profile
Or you can embed the video in the body of your LinkedIn profile
Go through the presentation to find out exactly how.
And get in touch if you want someone to help you make a video for your business.
4. Why should I?
1) You’ll get your message out
to people who are in a
‘business frame of mind’ so
more likely to engage.
2) People will learn more about
your business and if you’re
in the video, about you too.
3) Video titles and descriptions
add to the searchable words
on your profile, making you
more visible in searches.
5. How do I do this?
There are three ways you can post your video:
1) Share it on your
Activity Feed.
2) Create a link in
your Contact Info.
3) Add it in the body
of your Profile.
6. Share it on your Activity Feed
2) When the link pops up, a
thumbnail appears. You can
click on both the title and
description if you want to
make it more relevant.
1) At the top of the
homepage, paste the
URL into the ‘Share an
Update’ box at the top
of your news feed.
7. 3) Delete the URL (once the link has
been grabbed) and write an
introduction… then the next step is
really crucial…
8. 4) Tag people! Very clever.
When you type a capital
letter mid-sentence, it
will suggest people you
can include in the post. If
it doesn’t, try typing @
then their name, like on
Twitter. This works with
companies as well as
people!
9. 5) If we’ve made your video, you can even give
us some kudos!
10. 6) Be sure to share with at least the public, or
public plus your twitter account to ensure the
widest reach.
7) The people you tag will get a message that
you’ve mentioned them in the post. Anyone
reading the post will be able to click on the
tagged people or companies to get more
information quickly and simply.
11. Add a link in your Contact Info
1) Go to your profile, click at the top to edit, and select
‘Edit Contact Info’ underneath where it says the
number of connections you have.
12. 2) Click on the pencil next to Websites and you’ll be able
to add a link. At first, you’ll get a list of generic link
types (personal website, blog etc). However, if you
select ’Other’ a new text box opens, enabling you to
write a custom link title.
13. 3) Make it a call to action that will entice people to
click!
•Learn about our latest product
•How we helped our biggest client win more work
•Watch a doc about our eco-drive
14. Add it in the body of your
profile
1) When you’re in Edit mode on your profile, in the
Summary, Experience and Education sections, you’ll
see a rectangle with a plus.
15. 3) Click on the rectangle and a box will appear to paste
the URL of your video (or website or PDF etc) into.
Glitch alert!
We’ve noticed that sometimes LinkedIn throws up an error
Message when you post a link:
Simply delete the URL and paste again, it seems
to pick it up the second or third time!
16. 4) It’ll pick up the information from the video
website, which you can change to make it
more relevant to you.
17. 5) It’ll show up on your profile as an attractive
visual
18. 6) When clicked, people can watch directly in
LinkedIn. And of course, comment and like!
19. It’s a simple as that!
We hope we’ve made sharing your videos simple
for you, and we hope you get likes, comments and
shares on your content!
